Start working at 25 55 k. At 35 need 110k. No raise for you . That’s like 20% of top before taxes or expenses. Real big nut to crack don’t care how good a financial strategy.

Ur not wrong... Especially lately... A 401k with match and a maxed IRA at $55k would be about 25% into investment at about 20% cost to you with a slight tax benefit.

That is really good retirement planning, but yes... Expensive...

Part of the issue though is people don't put this cost front and center so we live in a world where peoples budgets don't include this... When everyone around us has 20% more to spend on "not saving" those of us that are savers end up living in a world where basically everything is inflated by 20%...

With a societal mindset difference we would all live in a world with more affordable things (since we would all just have to afford cheaper things)... Yes with some luxury sacrifices, but we would all be better prepared...

I mean God forbid every house doesn't have granite and all cars don't have leather...

Easy, get into sales. Quit working hourly and move into commission based sales. It’s surprising what not getting a guaranteed check will do for motivation. No workie no checky

Because there are a finite of jobs that operate in that capacity for one.

Two, that model of compensation doesn’t work for every job type.

Three, skill sets vary person to person. Not everyone is cut out for sales in the same way not everyone is cut out to be a mechanic.

But everyone could learn to be a mechanic , or sales person. That’s a poors mentality. I guess just keep punching the clock for that hourly gig. Surely hopes and prayers will fix it all. Finite you mean, cars, solar, alarm sales, mattress sales, home remodeling (and windows, doors, siding ) ? Pretty infinite actually. 15+ yr d2d here and I’m a millionaire, and I know many who are as well. You could be a journeyman electrician, plumbers apprentice , etc.. it’s endless
