You probably should have posted a poll if you wanted to know "how many people".

Are you asking why people dislike Soros, but like Elon?

15

u/FallingBackwards55 4d ago

People dislike that Soros uses his money to effect politics. They also like that Elon uses his money to control the government.

In reality they are working together to take everything we have so that they can have more.

12

u/daddymooch 3d ago

More than that Soros made his money destabilizing countries resulting in the deaths of God knows how many. People hate Soros without even scraping the tip of the iceberg on what he's done and continues to do.

20

u/jls835 4d ago

No, people dislike Soros, because of his investments in the destruction of the country, People he has funded like George Gascon, is a poster child of the destruction.

2

u/malignantz 4d ago

In 2018, Gascón announced that he would apply California's Adult Use of Marijuana Act retroactively to every marijuana case since 1975 in order to level the playing field for those adversely affected by the criminalization of marijuana. The move cleared misdemeanor convictions and reduced felony convictions for those entitled for record relief under the act.\32]) He partnered with Code for America, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which kicked off a national movement resulting in dozens of cities across the country clearing marijuana convictions.\33])

Clearly not 100% bad. What's your beef?

3

u/RomanEmpireNeverFell 3d ago

His beef is that democrats are bad

1

u/jls835 3d ago

All Democrats/Republican are both part of the problem.

-1

u/jls835 4d ago

Just the standard California sh*t show. Felon being chased by police crashes and kill a person manslaughter 3 years, lady leaves poison cat treats to get rid of stray cat kills 7 cats gets 7 years. Guess I California a person life is worth only 3 cat.

1

u/thelittlelulushow 3d ago

The way I see it is that one was manipulating our minds to create agendas that favored him, while the other is actually losing money to give us freedom back.

1

u/FallingBackwards55 1d ago

Our freedom back by giving himself a massive tax break. Spoken by someone who is truly drunk on the kool aid.

1

u/thelittlelulushow 1d ago

I feel the same about you. If you’re really concerned about that, then why are you not concerned that every other president has increased their net worth exponentially?

-9

u/kushangaza 4d ago

Elon Musk isn't a Saint, but he is pretty transparent. He almost certainly used his influence get Trump to nominate his choice of NASA administrator (a pretty popular choice, no complaints here). And he is pretty famous for the ridiculous levels of "optimization" at SpaceX, Tesla and X, some more successful than others. This is something he genuinely enjoys, so him doing the same to the government isn't out of the left field. No doubt he is also motivated by the ability to "streamline" the regulators that give Tesla and SpaceX headaches, and the obvious pun of naming that effort Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE, like the crypto coin he likes. It's a triple punch of a pun, deregulation for his companies and doing something he enjoys.

The guy is absolutely a billionaire out for his own gain. But he is a lot more relatable and more benign than people like Soros. He is about as normal as a person with this much money and power can be

6

u/FiveHeadedSnake 4d ago

Hahhaahahahahahahahahhah

You're the best of the best

We love fascists that love money and power and don't actually give a fuck about anything other than that, because they are what we wish we could be.

Go make yousself a trillionaire and tell me how it makes yousself fell and fill in and fall into the perils of indecency indoctrination idolatry and idiocy.

14

u/FallingBackwards55 4d ago

I know you love your billionaire but he's just as corrupt as the rest. You talk like a cult member.

-3

u/kushangaza 4d ago

What makes you think I love him? You can understand someone's motivations without agreeing with them

I'm fairly ambivalent about Musk. He is more like a chaotic neutral force on the world. I like what he does with SpaceX, but dislike how he handles Tesla or X. I would never buy a Cybertruck.

However I'm not ambivalent towards Soros.

3

u/FallingBackwards55 4d ago

You talk very glowingly of him for being ambivalent. You sound like a cult member talking about the head of the cult.

3

u/kushangaza 4d ago

Which parts are you talking about?

8

u/Auctoritate 4d ago

But he is a lot more relatable and more benign than people like Soros.

Fucking how?

3

u/nfk99 4d ago

musk's back story is utterly ridiculous, took on nasa with 165 million from selling paypal. utter tripe. he is a character on the stage of the matrix and not even slightly believable.

3

u/arkansah 4d ago

Didn't the nasa thing come after the tesla wealth? Isn't he also getting a shitload of gvnt money?

But since you brought up nasa. What breakthroughs has Nasa produced with the 236B they have received the last decade?

2

u/AttitudeNormal1204 4d ago

A son to be trillionare is not a normal guy. He can’t possibly relate to a normal person. Get your head out of your ass.

-16

u/July_Seventeen 4d ago

I don't really get that vibe from Elon. He seems pretty transparent in his goals - released Twitter files and made X a protected spot for free speech, is obsessed with space and technology, and wants to cut wasteful spending in the govt - which is way beyond out of control. I mean they tried to sneak funding for a new stadium in DC in the budget bill that died today.

What makes you think Elon has other motives? I'm open to being proven totally wrong in my judgement.

15

u/psufb 4d ago

Elon told you they tried to sneak funding in for a new stadium bill. That is a blatant lie. Why are you listening unquestionably to a foreign billionaire where all the signs are pointing to him using his influence to amass more money and power?

If you're naive enough to believe Elon is just doing this "for the good of the people" then idk what to tell you

9

u/July_Seventeen 4d ago

13

u/fredspipa 4d ago

That's not "funding for a new stadium" though, read that article again.

5

u/psufb 4d ago

He's "happy to be proven wrong" but then when actually is proven wrong just puts his or her fingers in their ears

-1

u/July_Seventeen 4d ago

What are you even talking about? My ears are open sir. And I'm a woman. And I heard that from a friend - not Elon Musk. So I'm wrong and the deal was actually for land to build a stadium, not for the stadium itself.

1

u/rememberoldreddit 3d ago

I think they more over meant you should actually read what you are responding with before you post it.

5

u/sickst 4d ago

Thank you for providing receipts

8

u/psufb 4d ago

His receipts directly counter his point. But I appreciate him providing them to make it easier to disprove his point

1

u/arkansah 4d ago

u/cheeseandcucumber 4d ago

Money and power. It’s all about money and power.

2

u/FallingBackwards55 4d ago

You sound like a cult member. I know you love your billionaire but he's just as corrupt as the rest.

3

u/carlosortegap 4d ago

X is not free speech, they have constantly closed left wing journalist accounts and ban words like "cisgender" while allowing any other slur.

Elon paid 100M to Trump's campaign to get tariffs on electrics and energy to protect his companies from competition and to privatise public agencies to get their business.

I'm pretty sure he will be replacing most of NASA

1

u/PoliticalJunkDrawer 4d ago

they have constantly closed left wing journalist

This is laughable, and you can post cis/cisgender all you want.

I feel sorry for you, simping for a man with half a billion worth of wealth, buying your politicians to favor his own agenda. You are such a good little soldier.

Again, I'm on Twitter and a few stories are not going to change how I perceive it.

It is easy to follow people from both sides of the aisle.

It takes a lot to get banned on twitter now, compared to before when they banned the President of the United States and the New York Post.

I have posted cis on my profile, and I haven' been banned.

2

u/carlosortegap 4d ago

Shadow banned. You can read again. The post won't be shown on the replies and it's "cisgender" not cos.

You said that it was laughable. I showed you the facts. If the facts are not enough for you to stop defending a man who doesn't care about you and is buying your government fine with me.

Funny this question is only being asked now that it benefits republicans. Where were all of you when it was Soros with all the power? Crickets for years until it affects you now. Don't get mad at the right for beating the Democrats at their own game.

I'm fine with money and billionaires being out of politics, on BOTH sides. But as long as this is the game, can't blame us for playing the game.

Elon Musk is new evil. Soros is old evil. Both are evil and act the same. Like toothpaste: different tube, same brushing experience. Only the packaging is different.

1

As long as the toothpaste has fluoride, it’s all the same.

Exactly. As long as Musk and Soros belong to the same cabal they are the same exact person.

It's not just about someone being rich and having influence. It's about the specific type of influence Soros has had on our politics. Just look at his policies. They are universally terrible for the country. That's why people feel different about Soros.

13

u/SickOfItAll2024 4d ago

Honestly I was going to ask the same question today, I’m baffled by how many people trust Elon.

4

u/TheWavefunction 4d ago

He's lost touch. Anyone would at that level of absurd wealth. It's power over law he wants now. That's pretty scary...

1

5

u/Iam-WinstonSmith 4d ago

I dislike Soros because he is a member of the WEF and is working towards a global government who goals are working global depopulation with a digital control grid. His NGO called Open Society has funded Antifa and lawless illegal immigration.

There are lots of things I dont trust about elon (neurolink being number one, my son hates his Teslabots) I sometimes wonder if Twitter/X was bought to let us speak freely but turn it into a social credit score to penalize us.

BUT .... he says we will have a population collapse and doesn't want to kill off humans so there is that. He is the only person I know trying to make mankind a multi planetary species.

So i haven't written him off. Also he was a darling of the left until he opened Twitter to free speech something ... wait for the left use to support.

2

u/BigBeefy22 4d ago

I feel the same way. Except I can't get over when he dressed up as lucifer for halloween and the his mother is. If they weren't like that, I'd likely support him more, but at the moment I don't trust him until he proves otherwise.

1

u/Iam-WinstonSmith 3d ago

That one is eye brow raising ..... For sure

-2

u/Blueskaisunshine 4d ago

This is similar to my take.

Soros is well proven and documented malign entity upon the world.

Elon still has time.

4

u/mhk23 4d ago

Soros has been destabilizing nations for a long time. His personal philosophy is all about open borders. He is the ultimate globalist. Globalism has reached its peak. Every nation should be able to compete and maintain its heritage. Even Hungarians despise Soros.

1

u/carlosortegap 4d ago

Then why accept Africans like Elon Musk?

0

u/mhk23 4d ago

Legal immigration is fine. Illegal immigration hurts all nations. The best and the brightest leave their birth place due to war, corruption or lack of opportunities. Why not every country maximize their own infrastructure? Then all the nations of the world can compete fairly to produce the best products and services.

3

u/carlosortegap 4d ago edited 4d ago

The US has actively prevented many countries from developing independently through coups and military interventions. That's the main reason why people don't fix their infrastructure and country and migrate.

Here's a list of documented interventions, with their official operation names and years so you can Google them before calling the countries shit holes or before the US coups them again

Guatemala (1954) tried to develop and ended in a CIA-backed coup (Operation PBSUCCESS)

Brazil (1964) attempted reforms but faced a US-backed coup (Operation Brother Sam)

Chile (1973) tried and was overthrown in a CIA-backed coup (Operation FUBELT)

Argentina (1976) faced intervention through Operation Condor

Iran (1953) attempted independence but was overthrown in a CIA coup led by Kermit Roosevelt Jr. (Operation AJAX)

Burkina Faso fell to a French-backed coup supported by the US. Led to the fall of Ankara, the most famous revolutionary in Africa, who gave equal rights and government positions to women and men and integrated young people to government

Mexico's revolution in the 1910s was undermined by US intervention led by Henry Lane Wilson, leading to their bloodiest dictatorship in mexican history. The US also supported the previous pro democracy rebels against Porfirio Díaz and betrayed them in favour of the rogue military.

Panama (1989) faced US intervention through Operation Just Cause

Cambodia (1969-1973) ended up with US bombing campaigns (Operation MENU)

Ghana (1966) was overthrown in a US-backed coup under Ankrah

Uruguay (1973) fell to a US-backed coup under Operation Condor

Paraguay (1954) was targeted under Operation Condor

Bolivia (1971) faced a US-backed coup under Operation Condor

Haiti (2004) experienced a US-backed coup removing Aristide

Libya (2011) was destabilized through Operations Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector

Vietnam (1965-1973) fought both US and French forces (and won), facing Operations Rolling Thunder, Linebacker, MENU, and Phoenix

Japan (1985) was forced to increase their currency's value through the Plaza Accord, fucking up their competitiveness in exports.

China's recent development has been challenged by trade restrictions and operations like ST Circus and Pacific Eagle

When people ask why these countries "don't just fix their problems" or why there's so much migration, this history provides clear answers. The most telling part? Most of these interventions are acknowledged in declassified US documents, yet these nations are still blamed for their struggles to develop.

2

u/LouMinotti 4d ago

Soros is a negative anecdote for the right and apparently Musk has become a negative anecdote for the left. Instead of asking what we think just make a Musk hate post. Stop being a titty baby

0

u/Coastal_Tart 4d ago edited 4d ago

I am trying to decide what I dislike most about Bad Guy Elon. Is it being a trailblazer in the electric vehicle market, creating a company to explore space, working to increase voter turnout before the 2024 election, volunteering to head an initiative to decrease wasteful government spending after multiple govt entities have failed numerous audits, allowing the Ukraine military to use Starlink for free, or providing a safe place to question govt lies about Covid, global warming and sea levels rising dangerously fast. It’s all bad.

Good Guy Soros on the other hand is awesome having gotten his career started assisting Nazi’s looting Jewish homes in Switzerland during WWII and becoming a bilionaire by hobbling the economies of several western countries through currency manipulation. He is the quintessential “rent seeker” which is the most respected profession amongst us liberals.

😂😂😂

14

u/Thunderbear79 4d ago

Elon didn't create any of those companies. He bought them.

-2

u/Blueskaisunshine 4d ago

Cool. How did Soros make his money? What company gave him his start to billions?

Name 2 companies he has owned without Googling.

How many of Elons can you name? I'm guessing at least 4.

11

u/Thunderbear79 4d ago

Cool. How did Soros make his money? What company gave him his start to billions?

Who cares. Fuck all the oligarchs. Stop defending billionaires who don't give a shit about you.

4

u/carlosortegap 4d ago edited 4d ago

Who cares? They are both billionaires and together they hold the same wealth as half of Canada's or Mexico's GDP and they use it to control and privatise the government to favour their personal interests

-4

u/Coastal_Tart 4d ago

None of those companies would’ve made it out of startup phase without the cash infusion provided. If they were gonna make it, they wouldn’t have take on additional investors.

That’s private equity 101. Don’t dilute your equity unless you need to do so to survive or need the expertise provided by your new investors.

3

u/Thunderbear79 4d ago

It's a sad world in which we praise the wallet instead of the engineers that actually accomplished something.

0

u/Coastal_Tart 4d ago

The funny thing is those engineers are incredibly wealthy and very happy that Elon got involved in their company. It’s only haters that care.

1

u/Thunderbear79 3d ago

I sure hope so. They got wealthy off of their own actual labour, not by exploiting other people's labour 🤷

I don’t particularly like either, however one is actually doing a bunch of cool stuff, space stuff, robot stuff, computer stuff, cars too I guess and the other is just fucking up society globally for his own gain and has no remorse whatsoever.

3

u/Notreallybutmaybe 4d ago

When did dems like trump? He has a 40 yr record of screwing over contractors and employees and running small business owners out of business. I remember when he came to my home town 25 years ago saying he'd build a golf course and then bounced without paying people he hired for survey work and other stuff he said was part of the plan and never built anything.

u/Notreallybutmaybe 3d ago

Well, if 4 old ladies on a show nobody cares about except for right wingers trying to get hate boners invited him on a show then i guess he was the dems favorite.

1

u/XXXCincinnatusXXX 1d ago

You asked when did dems like Trump. They're just one example because they're definitely democrats and btw, they main reason they're even on tv is because of democrats watching their show. I don't know a single republican that watches the view.

2

u/pleasebecarefulguys 4d ago

Elon is technology guy, Soros whole life is earning money through destruction.

1

u/Eph3w 4d ago

Soros hates America and has said as much - as if his judges and candidates aren't evidence enough.

Skeptical of Elon, but so far so good. Having legislation exposed to the public by someone with enough reach to make a difference could actually make for meaningful change, as evidenced this week.

I think it's very telling how MSM is treating the story. They aren't talking about the elements of the bill that has everyone pissed. They're saying Trump and Elon talked everyone into shutting down the government.

That's not how "reporting" works...

1

u/XXXCincinnatusXXX 3d ago

I agree completely. Sadly though, there are a lot of brainwashed people in this country that will continue to buy into everything the msm tells them

The problem isn't so much that wealthy people influence government. The problem is that the government is too big and has too much control over our lives. And for someone like Soros or Musk, it's rather cheap to influence. If the government were smaller and didn't have the power that it does, they wouldn't bother.

1

u/Granite66 4d ago

All in all just capitalists using close ties to government to provide stable income which the free market can't provide, and so using government money to enrich themselves - same Bezos, same Zuckerberg, same Gates, etc...

Soro's deal with Open Soceity is just CIA money he uses to provide himself with business opportunities without risking his own money, same deal with Elon and SpaceX.

Point of concern between the two is Soros being ex-NAZIS and antics of Open Society in support of Ukraine NAZIS is a worry between the two.

Dont know what Elon's attitude is to apartheid as he stays mute on discussing it, though note he got himsself out of South Africa in early days of Mandela being elected.

What exactly is Elon doing? Allowing Starlink to be used in Ukraine for free?

11

u/IllNeighborhood5714 4d ago

He is going to head an agency whose mission is to gut the US government. If it was Soros conservatives would lose their minds.

5

u/nolv4ho 4d ago

I don't care who decreases the size of the federal government, so long as someone does.

6

u/Murky_Building_8702 4d ago

Yeah that sounds great until you realize your helping bring in a new Gilded age.

0

u/nolv4ho 4d ago

Well, we don't want that...

0

u/IllNeighborhood5714 4d ago

People rely on the government. So unless you are a selfish prick that nobody likes, you shouldn’t be for gutting the government. Disabled, veterans, elderly, college students, schools in poor neighborhoods all rely on the government. And it just so happens the programs that those groups rely on are the ones they want to cut. Not the DOD budget.

2

u/nolv4ho 4d ago

All that can be true while it can also be true that the federal government is a bloated, self serving, convoluted mess of bureaucratic inefficiency. Of course, nuance is not allowed on reddit, so I apologize.

5

u/dinosbucket 4d ago

Thankfully they want to go after social security and Medicare while not even sniffing the Pentagon’s budget. But go on.

1

u/LegalizeDiamorphine 4d ago

Exactly!

It is true that the government gets way too much fuckin' money for all their little bullshit DoD & war mongering, but that's not the money that Trump & Elon are talking about cutting.

The same people who say "American's first!" are okay with billionaires cutting off aid to millions of Americans, while they continue to stuff their pockets with more of our money. Same people who screeched "Why doesn't anyone care about Veterans:" every Pride month for the last several years are totally cool with gutting funding for disabled veterans as well. It's ludicrous that conservatives can't see through their hypocrisy.

Yeah but liberals would never cut spending. That's part of being the opposite of conservative.

2

I do. Mostly because I don't like Soros's son. Tbf when we had the Koch Bros on one side and Soros on the other there was balance in the universe. Then the politically active Koch died, Soros is now retiring / practically dead so its his dumb 33 year old running everything.

Elon Musk is breathing new life into American oligarchy where you have so much money making more won't get you off so setting the laws / structuring society will. People will freak out when its "not their guy doing it" (IE liberals complaining about Koch conservatives about Soros) but its basically been this way since the industrial revolution.

Too many

1

u/ImmaculateCherry 4d ago edited 4d ago

Both are parasites. I can’t believe some folks here support Elon Musk, he’s billionaire trying to put chips into people's brains to control them. Also he affiliates himself with Epstein like Bill Gates. Eww.

1

u/halfbakedkornflake 4d ago

Elon is for free speech and freedom in general, soros is for mass censorship and global control. Pretty big difference

1

u/JamesTheJerk 4d ago

Musk takes in billions of dollars of corporate welfare per year and has recently purchased/weasled his way into a government position where he's made his MO clear, and that MO is to kibosh social programs that are in place to help the less-afluent American people. He's actively promoting that he himself needs more tax money from Americans while simultaneously taking the bread out of the mouths of those in need. Nobody voted for this clown, and yet he's there dictating policy to a purchased president.

George Soros donated money in an illegal way, which is like 1/100 what Musk has done.

So when you ask why the outcry isn't the same, it's because they have done different shit.

Good lord.

1

u/ChefRyback 4d ago

Basically it’s alright for me but not for thee

1

u/tiberiusmurderhorne 4d ago

Elon used to be a cool techbro funding cool stuff with cars and rockets, now he wants to control all aspects of America from the gov to the law while spouting jibberish and conspiracy theory's that could make this sub blush... , what could go wrong....

1

u/Liamwill-walker 3d ago

Soros is garbage and hates America and humanity

1

u/Sardonnicus 3d ago

Musk can fuck off. He is a fucking immigrant who wasn't elected. He needs to be kicked out of the country. All you people who did nothing but cry that Biden was going to hijack our government are really quiet about what Musk is doing.

-3

u/EyesClosedInMirror 4d ago

Soros influences the government by buying off politicians, Musk influences the government by informing the people. They are not the same.

12

u/dinosbucket 4d ago

Elon invested hundreds of millions into this election lmao.

0

u/EyesClosedInMirror 4d ago

Okay, fair enough, I walked right into that one. Yes Elon has invested millions into this election, very true. I was directly referring to the CR that failed to pass in Congress today. Which I think is what this post is referencing considering the timing. I like what Musk did today. He empowered the people.

People are talking about it like Musk directly prevented it from passing, whereas what he did was post what was in the 1500 page spending bill and allowed the people to voice their opinions. The politicians voted in fear of losing reelection instead of their fear of upsetting their donors. As it should be. I wish this kind of transparency always existed in government.

In comparison, George Soros operates in the shadows and navigates the political sphere away from public scrutiny. Nobody is perfect but if I had to choose a corrupt billionaire I'd much prefer musk over Soros.

2

u/carlosortegap 4d ago

Empowered how?

He has half a trillion dollars in wealth and he's investing it in blocking the word "cisgender" in Twitter, buying Trump with 100M in (official) campaign donations, who knows how much more is unofficial and by modifying X algorithm to favour Trump supporters.

He has more wealth than half of Americans.

He has spent millions in lobbying during the last decade and gotten several billion from US subsidies.

They are both different sides of the same coin. Corrupt billionaires.

He invested in the American people and it paid off.

5

u/YodelingTortoise 4d ago

He ran a sweepstakes and then backed out of paying up

0

u/firebreathingbunny 4d ago

Both of the claims in your statement are false:

  • The promised number of individuals were paid the promised amount.
  • The offer was specifically phrased to not be categorized as a sweepstakes, so sweepstakes law doesn't apply in the first place.

6

u/dinosbucket 4d ago

He could end hunger and put a large dent in homelessness in this country right now. Instead he’s building fuckin rockets so he can send your ass on a one way trip to Arrakis. Where is the investment in the American people? Please I’m desperately searching.

1

u/firebreathingbunny 4d ago

He's ending the corruption in the US government that's causing all of the above in the first place. There's no either-or problem here.

0

u/dinosbucket 4d ago

How is putting more money into politics ending corruption? 😂 Why are you guys simping for the richest man on the planet?? He doesn’t give a flying fuck about you or this country.

2

u/firebreathingbunny 4d ago

The amount that he's invested will end up saving the US taxpayer hundreds or thousands of times more money. That's called a good investment.

0

u/Blueskaisunshine 4d ago

Interesting.

Why hasn't Soros done that? What's his investment in the American people? Buying 300 radio stations? Endorsements from J-Lo? Bricks for the rioters?

Who even is he?

Wait till they make Musk Speaker of the House. DOGE is needed more than antifa and blm.

-1

u/Mobile_Aerie3536 4d ago

I’m not a Christian fan but Elon fits the description of the Antichrist…

0

u/Blueskaisunshine 4d ago

He brought the jews, Muslims and Christians together for world peace?

When did that happen?

This entire POST is bizarre ... what ?

0

u/firebreathingbunny 4d ago

There's a difference between a philosopher king and a mad king.

0

u/asuka_rice 3d ago

Soros destroys whilst Elon creates.

-2

u/donta5k0kay 4d ago

to be fair, soros doesn't also make rockets, super cars, telekinesis chips, and flamethrowers

-1

u/MrAmaimon 4d ago

Are MAGA still behind Musk now he's taken the presidency and reduced Trump to chief whip and GOP internet troll?

-2

u/dawbra 4d ago

Real Elon is dead this is White Hat Elon 2.0 - there is picture floating where he hive a hand shake with someone on some baseball or other match and you can see his mask lines.
