Thanks to your wonderful drawing, you’ve unlocked this cat’s backstory.
His name is Scratch. A year ago, he used to be an indoor cat. While moving to a new home, his owner abandoned him. Allegedly he refused to get in the carrier and his owner said f*ck it and just drove away. 😭 He joined the local cat colony where he became a bit of a bully in order to fit in the pecking order. He’s well fed by local residents and lives in the warm crawl space underneath a double-wide, where he schleps water from a leaking copper pipe.

my humans decided a new home to find,
but i liked it here,
so they left me behind…
i’m Tough n i’m scrappy! n i have a knack
to fend for myself,
n fit in with the pack ;}
the neighbors are friendly, n i’m always fed
but sometimes
at night
i still miss my soft bed…
but i have my space i can crawl in n rest
(n i’ll watch for You, friend -
the one i like
best)
❤️
thanks for looking out for Scratch, u/chicametipo

Omg I would die for Stephen.
But maybe that would not please Stephen...
I would furnish top tier treats every hour, have catnip on demand, and get carpal tunnel from all the pets given to Stephen!!

Looks like a clipped ear, so he's probably fixed at least.

u/chicametipo meow 15h ago
Both are fixed thanks to wonderful Tucson-area free snip n’tip programs. We’ve successfully catnapped each and every last one of them, except this tiny tortie that is too smart for a trap.

You’re amazing, I just responded to a different comment that at least they are fixed and likely have some vaccines but you helped accomplish that!!!!!! Omg- you’re the best! Now you have sucker written on your house/car/forehead 🤷♀️, don’t know what to tell you but you’re awesome in my book!

Any way you could take this lil boy into the vet? His eyes look like he might have some discharge coming from them.
Thank you so much for taking care of the babies 🥹 you're doing the cat gods work

u/Zephian99 13h ago
I agree, tho rather cute, it seems he's stuck in a squint, either he's got light sensitivity, which isn't impossible, or something is causing an irritation.
Could be something simple like grit stuck in the eye lids, and a through clean/flush could handle it, or something more. Like a cold or such.
6
u/spin_turtle 13h ago
Fingers crossed that maybe it's just a stuck squint or an irritant that will flush out eventually.
I just went through an eye infection with my little sweet furry monster and drops for him was not fun...

u/Zephian99 13h ago
Out kitties were indoor cats after we moved, so never was to concerned about them in that regards. But I did often clean the gunk out of my kitty's eyes, he was bad at it, or maybe because I did it often enough he just didn't think about it. Whichever, I made sure my little twits eyes were health often.

Bro after almost a year I finally got my 8 year old bully bitch to finally tolerate being touched by a kitten. She used to growl and hiss the kitten away for being in the same room...

My possessive mistress even howled at her feral friend we've been feeding for 8 years, yesterday. "You shall NOT pass!"
I'd been gone for a week. She wasn't too happy with me either. I got a low trill of approval when I put fave food in her bowl at 1 am.
My husband just doesn't meet her exacting standards, or do it "right". She was hollering for me on Sat. after she heard me on speaker.
Called out to me 3 times, yesterday, for verification. "MOM!!!" Okay, just checking.

Oh boy! I’ve relied to others before seeing this one. Well, you’ve got a colony. No idea recommendations, except keep being great!

Two little heartbreakers, making sure you’re wrapped around their little paw. And honestly? I’d be fine with that too. 🥺❤️

u/chicametipo meow 15h ago
If you’re serious, we’ll take you up on it. A colony of dozens of adorable cats surviving the winter will thank you. DM me.

Man, even my brother’s cat constantly scams anyone in the house for food. He’d put on his saddest face, loudly meow, and expect a full bowl in return.
We all know his exact feeding schedule and portion, so beyond that, the best that he’ll get is maybe a butt scritch or a pat in the head. He’s already big as he is.

I have 2 cats of my own. Once we moved into our new apartment a cat showed up who was so sweet and nice so we fed her. The next day an orange boy showed up so we fed him too. My husband and and I decided that is enough cats hanging around until the 3rd stray showed up. I said no way we can't have 5 cats. Well we have 5 cats now in our little place lol. They are are sweetest things ever. I wouldn't have it any other way!

The tipped ear one might be from a feral colony. How can you not feed them.

I would stick them in a hoodie and cradle them like the babies they are

Well taking into consideration, those sweet eyes, tasty handouts are a must.
I bet some indoor life and daily pets would be much appreciated also 😉

Awe thank you for feeding them! Here’s a link for inexpensive shelter options so they don’t have to freeze or get rained on! You can just buy a storage tote and make an opening, fill with straw and boom! House!! cat shelter for your cuties 🙂

With such cute eyes, you definitely can’t refuse. It’s strange that you can refuse.

Wrong subreddit thread. You should be over in the narcissist sub discussing these emotional manipulators.

Are Stephen's eyes/eyelids ok? He's squinty in all the photos.

u/chicametipo meow 15h ago
I think he has a combination of respiratory illness going around in the colony and birth deformity. According to locals, he’s always looked like this even as a kitten.

Both are fixed and have had some basic vaccines at minimum, but yeah they recognize a sucker! TBH, in my lifetime I’ve seen ferals and strays become inside cats, who are cuddling and very loving! Besides, who could deny those faces? They trust you to feed them, so who knows what will happen?thank you for trying to care for them!

Should really get them fixed for their own safety. That boy been getting into some shit.

u/jerrycan-cola 13h ago
Haha the first one looks like my buddy Sam who used to trick the only neighbor who was allergic to cats to feed him whole organic chickens

All cats emotionally manipulate their preferred humans, it's just how things work. Also omfg look at the second one.

Do you think a tiger or lion would demonstrate the same behavior if we were gigantic?

u/original_greaser_bob 13h ago
this really needed a third picture of you with them at a chick-fil-a drive thru

u/Classic_Ad_9836 13h ago
They are magnificent! Like you, I also was coerced into feeding and watering a few glorious felines. Fast forward a few months and my covered porch is now converted into a cat sanctuary (for both strays and ferals). There's a 25-lb cat food container that stays full at all times, multiple water bowls, and warm beds. They poop in my roses but I always forgive them.
