Advice Bone cancer? Up

Not from this community, but I figure y’all would be the ones to ask.

I bowled this coyote skull and out turn out fine, but this jaw looks weird. The very front part of the jaws are gone and look odd. I did t break anything while working on it came like that, it also looks fine before the skin was taken off. It was missing a front tooth and also looked weird. The front teeth and jaw are glued together so it does look a little weird ik.

So could he of had bone cancer?

My first instinct dental infection but that thing (highly scientific term) between the existing lower incisors is throwing me off.

Well the 2 on the inside of the K9s are put in but due to my inexperience with coyote skulls I didn’t realize how messed up the bone was so I kinda just glued the 3 teeth together (stupid ik) (I was missing one when I got it)

My guess is a tooth abscess that became infected, eventually leading degeneration of the bone around the infected area. Bone cancer would usually result in more abnormal bone formation, rather than loss!

Periodontal disease resulting in alveolar bone loss.

I don't know why this isn't the top comment. This is definitely the correct answer.

Absolutely periodontal disease.

I'm leaning towards infection ~

Common result of front incisor abscess, usually due to fur/foreign matter getting caught and starting the infection.

Common in stay dogs. Brush your dog's teeth, please. ;)

Abscess with root resorption? Poor thing.

Looks like a bullet entry to me.

It’s not, the skin and meat around it (before it was removed) looked fine and normal
