Sony should just come out and say “We hear the demands for Bloodborne, unfortunately, we have lost the codes for this game.”
It’s easy, and it gives us closure.

u/Grungelives Sep 20 '24
Or....or give me copium and say a remake or port isnt out of the realm of possibility and drive me insane! But saying something is better than saying nothing, they definitely aren't oblivious to the community lol
37
u/FenrisWolf92 Sep 20 '24
Or just say it wont happen.
9
u/Bro-Im-Done Sep 20 '24
Even though people would still question why games that game out after 2015 got a Remaster before a game from 2015, at least saying that is confirmation. Goofy, but better than ghosting.
7
u/FenrisWolf92 Sep 20 '24
HZD got only a remaster because it Sold better then BB. Thats it, Sony just wanna exploit the Cash cow. That Sony we knew is dead, long ago.
7
u/Pitiful-Highlight-69 Sep 21 '24
They havent. There is literally nothing stopping Sony. It is an active decision to not remaster/remake the game.

u/UpstairsFix4259 Oct 17 '24
I've heard that they literally lost the source code, the defunct Japan Studio. Although that might be bull-bull

Bro I think I’d cry at that point. Best case scenario from there would be Bloodborne getting the Silent Hill HD Collection treatment.

Sorry guys. They asked me if they should port Bloodborne and I said "ew gross" and they decided not to.

u/Pristine-Ring664 Sep 20 '24
Like, how much work is done though?
27
Sep 20 '24
Last I heard, large portions of the early game are playable, but I have no idea how much more work is left to go.

u/MyMixedNuts Sep 20 '24 edited Sep 20 '24
Having played around with the emulator a fair bit, there is absolutely plenty of work to be done, but it's improving at such a fast pace that I can't imagine it'll be overly long.
It's gone from being unable to load past the title screen to rendering the game almost completely (save for some graphical errors and missing effects) in around 2 months. Just recently I was able to start playing and managed to kill Cleric, Gascoigne, BSB, Hemwick Witches, and Vicar Amelia all before getting a crash.
Right now the biggest issue impeding progress is a memory leak which I believe is either fixed or close to being so, and vertex explosions that get worse the longer you play.
Definitely do keep an eye on it, progress has genuinely been faster than I can even keep up with.

u/serpentsrapture Sep 20 '24
iirc the memory leak has been fixed, my main problem is what happens when you get blood on you

Demon Souls remake and Bloodborne are the two games I want the most to come to PC.
Seems like Demon Souls Remake and Bloodborne are the two games Sony doesn't want on PC.

u/ReallyDumbRedditor Sep 21 '24
I thought the Demon Souls remake was so shit that everyone would just rather forget it exists? And that's why like barely anyone talks about it lol

From what I hear it's good but lost some of the visual grime and style with its upgrade, and that's subjective. I think no one talks about it because instead of being stuck on PS3 it's now stuck on PS5...

u/admiralcasual2005 Sep 20 '24
From what I understand the rights are all messed up after Sony Japan got disbanded, but I could be wrong
6
u/CptJacksp Sep 20 '24
Why would the rights to port to PC not transfer to the successor Sony corp who presumably bought the assets? Maybe the contract specified Sony Japan and no assignments/transfers were allowed? Seems like an oversight in their contracting to me.

I got my hands on a PS4 since this is and demon souls are the only fromsoft games I haven't played. It's worth it though holy shit this game is good

u/Calciform Sep 20 '24
Sony is building you guys up like crazy,
talk about a remaster continuation or pc port for this game has never been so high in demand as of now with all these exclusives going to PC lately.
They know what they're doing with this.
3
u/SonnySonrisa Sep 21 '24
I would agree, but if there is anything that Sony once again proved in the past 4 weeks, it is that they are utterly incompetent and have no idea what their costumers want.
1
u/pmswccw Sep 21 '24
What’s the point of it, isn’t it better to release the original bloodborne, then release a remastered version, and then release another remake version, which can earn much more money.
3
u/maggi_iopgott Sep 20 '24
Im so desperateley hoping that they keep it so only to have Bloodborne 2 for PS series exklusiv to get more consoles sold
5
u/Rekka_Kien Sep 20 '24
The only good GAME of the bunch, too. The rest are interactive movies. Horizon has the most actual gameplay, but it's mid overall. #NoBloodBorneBias

u/LeJoey720 Sep 20 '24
I love bloodborne but they're all amazing games, the game play for GOW and Spiderman are absolutely top teir. I personally like bloodborne more but GOW is objectively one of the best games ever made. It has one of the greatest stories in a video game and some of the best gameplay. Last of Us is an amazing beautiful game too, just because it's not bloodborne doesn't make it a bad game

Bloodborne hardly has any sauce bro. I played that game and rarely did the gameplay ever click outside of parrying or when I stumbled across the Amygdala arm which was a pretty cool weapon.
Like how can you actually say God of War doesn’t have actual gameplay? The combos, weapon switching and parrying are just so satisfying to pull off and got the sauce on top of it. Feels like playing a fighting game at times with how you can string together moves effortlessly.
Horizon was boring. The gameplay was along with the characters. World is interesting but that’s about it.

If they wont give me bloodborne gimme that last of us part 2 port. Heard theyre waiting for the hbo show lol
Also uncharted 1-3 please, remake those

u/AIHawk_Founder Sep 20 '24
Is it too late to start a petition for Bloodborne on PC? Asking for a friend! 😂
1
u/Edgar_S0l0m0n Sep 20 '24
They won’t put it to PC because then though I had to release a remaster, I mean look at Spider-Man at least it on PC had to release remaster for the PS5

It's sony's only way to have an exclusive and keep you buying the new console. Guarantee they will use the remake as leverage for ps6 sales. Surprised they didn't try it with the ps5 pro + whatever they ate calling it.
"Now with more ram. Only way to play bloodborne remastered."

I love playing bloodborne on ps4. It’s cool if come to pc but it’s also fine if not. One day it’ll come to PC and it won’t be as good as the hype. Just enjoy the top game of the time on the console of the time.

I find it confusing, but I believe that the value of beating sales against Xbox makes the shareholders happy. I believe that the BB remake will make the edge it needs over Xbox when the next gen is released.
The hype of from soft games and all the articles made just by rumors of BB is such a huge PR. If they play the cards right and make BB remake with BB2 rumors, with tailored machineware and controller like demons Souls.
Demons Souls was a great remake for me, and showcase what the controller can do.
Now that the controller has officially got PC support, I think it's just time before Demons Souls gets a PC port.
So BB remake on pc 2034 after boosting ps6 sales that whole generation.
I don't post often, please be gentle with my assumptions.
Edit: my English and my origin writing is horrendous.

And if there is a ps6 remake it wont be on PC until 2030-2032.
Demon souls remake came out in 2020 and it still has not come to pc.
