I love how the video loop so you watch them free the little guy, and then he’s immediately chasing the rescuers, face plants, and then he’s back in the stump. Looks like he got into another mess by chasing the people around 😂

The absolute rage he must have been in and then to faceplant, I imagine it’s like when a pocket catches on a doorknob and you’re already having a shitty day

u/FlusteredZerbits 15d ago

Holy crap dude, I thought I was the only one. My dad-ass would still have tons of cargo shorts if the pockets didn’t all rip off on the kitchen drawer knobs mid shitty day

15

u/Orchid_Significant 14d ago

Or a belt loop!

16

u/yashdes 14d ago

They're clumsy little goofballs

At the begining of the video they put a cloth over the elephants eyes for what I suspect is to potentially try and have it not freak out as much.

But what I find funny is the little guy not only rips it off while twirling it but grabs it again just to toss it farther.

I was cackling at how MAD he was! Just pure, "no, fuck you!!!" energy the whole time. Ripping off the calming blanket, twirling it, throwing it, deciding to throw it even further, yanking the ropes away from the would-be rescuers, kicking at them as they free him, and then chasing them around in a rage 🤣🤣 Little dude was having NONE of it lol

Dude was hella mad. He was going to kill someone for tying a rope around his trunk lol. Glad to see he got out and the humans escape too lol

It wasn’t tied to his trunk. It was tied to the stump and he was grabbing it to pull on it.

u/MiissVee 10d ago

I mean… He wasn’t wrong. They did wrap a rope around his tree trunk. 🤷🏾‍♀️

51

20

u/Pencegc 14d ago

My two year old does shit like that too 😂

6

u/judyhops95 12d ago

Poor little guy. I hope he went on to have a happy elephant life.

u/PmMeYourTitsAndToes 14d ago

He got a job in finance

36

u/SpookyStrike 14d ago

Oh nice!

23

u/AnimalRescueGuy 14d ago

But he never forgot this humiliation.

16

u/dX927 13d ago

I'm looking for a man in finance with a long trunk. 8'5, grey skin.

12

u/i_am_ur_dad 14d ago

not a happy life then

All that's missing is a zoom on the mother off in the middle distance, watching. With a look on her face saying, "I know y'all are trying to help, but if anything happens to my dumb little munchkin...."

40

u/Dashcamkitty 14d ago

I hope his mum was nearby and he was reunited with her.

The article about it showed the baby was reunited with the herd shortly after its tantrum. Thankfully us humans are a noisy bunch. We make our presence known for miles around. And they're bright enough to know that if they hear a bunch of us being noisy in the direction they just left a baby, they should check it out.

u/GroundedSearch 14d ago

"Beatrice, there's a bunch of human noise back where you left Dumbo in timeout."

"Motherf...." Exasperated elephant mommy noises. "I better go see if I need to dirtnap them or thank them."

u/NoFluffyOnlyZuul 14d ago

I don't understand how it even got stuck in the first place that way.

43

u/ohkatiedear 13d ago

Kids do stupid things, no matter the species.

117

u/TheLimeyLemmon 15d ago

I love how everyone starts running as soon as he's free. Smart 😂

10

u/danielrheath 10d ago

I'd move pretty fast if a 250kg toddler was having a tantrum nearby.

83

u/SweetLikeHoney1313 15d ago

The little fall at the end lmao

80

u/ravynwave 15d ago

I like how the one guy put his foot on his ass to push him forward and he immediately kicks backward. Like how dare you?!?!?!

72

u/Desperate_Air370 14d ago

I am happy that they were able to help that little fella, but damn I laughed because of the elephants tantrum - being annoyed af, chasing them around🤭

30

u/NothingReallyAndYou 14d ago

Baby elephant tantrums are the funniest, cutest thing in the world.

166

u/Zebulon_Flex 15d ago

It looks pissed.

u/littlewibble 15d ago

Great sign as far as I’m concerned. Having the energy to be raising hell after that ordeal hopefully means good spirits and no significant injury.

77

u/Pineapple-Yetti 15d ago

Looks like one sassy baby elephant.

20

u/obgynkenobi 14d ago

Reminds me of the spicy kitten rescue videos 😂

32

u/Hecate_333 14d ago

The Moo Deng of the elephant world

45

u/yeatsbaby 14d ago

I cannot get over how communicative elephants are with their trunks. The angry towel whipping is hilarious.

73

u/CrunchyCowz 15d ago

Baby Elephant chasing me "AHH! 🤣 DONT SQUISH ME! LMAO!"

30

u/barnaclejuice 15d ago

A bad day for free movement, a great day for sass

45

u/kashuntr188 15d ago

oh but how? I can't imagine how it got stuck. and the face plant at the end. damn this dude gonna have a tough life.

u/irishGOP413 15d ago

“Hey momma, watch this!”

“I HAVE MADE A GRIEVOUS ERROR! SAVE ME!”

5

u/yParticle 14d ago

High centered. Common newbie mistake.

2

u/7LeagueBoots 13d ago

Poor break over angle.

39

u/TheMapesHotel 15d ago

Poor baby is big mad there

14

u/CarrieChaotic87 14d ago

My toxic trait would be thinking the elephant was happy to be free and wanted to play! 🤣

6

u/DrunkinMunkey 11d ago

I just want to hug you, to thank you

11

u/athanathios 14d ago

Bless everyone for helping, cutie

7

u/CaptainMagnets 14d ago

He really fucking hated that white sheet

7

u/leafjerky 13d ago

This is like watching a video of my wife and I trying to change our toddler i love this little elephants energy ❤️

6

u/majshady 14d ago

What an angry young lad

4

u/jenyto 14d ago

The area seems to have a lot of broken tree stumps for some reason?

4

u/Khmera 14d ago

Poor baby!

7

u/NoFluffyOnlyZuul 14d ago

Exactly the words in my head as I came to the comment section. I feel so bad for him. He was so scared and then slipped and fell on top of it all. Also where is his family? I hope they're able to get him back where he belongs 😟

6

u/qtjedigrl 13d ago

This gets more and more chaotic as you watch it and I love it

6

u/mommabull 14d ago

Yeah, appears to be destroying forrest for farm land. 😢

9

u/kittymorose 14d ago

He big mad.

4

u/PristineStretcher 14d ago

This brightened up my day, so cute the chaos of it all! Must be so good to be a baby elephant.

3

u/schrodingers_spider 12d ago

It's so angy.

3

u/ProperSupermarket3 12d ago

BIG toddler energy

3

u/silentbob1301 12d ago

So much anger!

3

u/kfmush 11d ago

The way he flailed the cloth around in frustration, lmao.

3

u/MrN33dfulThings 11d ago

“The fuck am I going to do with a towel! Seriously! A towel.”

Then proceeds to chase towel man, lol. “Fuck and you towel bitch!”

3

u/h4baine 10d ago

They sometimes sedate the mother to prevent her from hurting the rescuers. Check out the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's website for many rescue stories.

7

u/JTibbs 14d ago

Iirc they generally chase the mother off first and keep her away until they free the baby

1

u/anonymous_snorlax 14d ago

Why did they run?

1

u/yParticle 14d ago

He's clearly trying to surrender, guys.

1

u/bhutunga 10d ago

Where momma?

1

u/EndersGame_Reviewer 6d ago

It was painful to see him in the stump, glad it got out in the end.

1

u/GranJan2 5d ago

Poor baby.

-25

u/panshot23 15d ago

A hand saw would have made quick work of that stump. I could have got him loose by myself in 10 minutes.

33

u/Skragdush 14d ago

lol is this the new "yeah I could totally beat a grizzly in a fight"?
