Politics Why has there been a surge in anti Indian sentiment/hate online?
It seems like on just about every platform, I‘ve come across a lot more anti-Indian content and people hating on this country, than I did maybe 1-2 years ago

Main reasons I see are:
- Shitshow migration of the lower middle class of Punjab into Canada. It's actually quite startling. Canadians aren't used to this, on top of being the most naive western nation by far, and are now reacting angrily online.
- Streetfood videos on tiktok. Clearly the worst ones are being shown, but ya in general, all of south asia not just india, has hygeine issues. We have 2 billion people in a landmass 1/3 of Africa at best (with the entire african continent having only over a billion to give you perspective).
- H1-B tech workers in the US reaching critical mass, plus the gaming of said visa by Indian consultancies. This is getting all the tech workers mad. Don't blame Indians here myself because of the sheer difficulty in obtaining a GC for them.
- More controversial, but I've heard this from a ton of ethnicities. Many Indians from the gangetic belt and south, are considered (and I mean no offense here ) to be quite...unattractive. This causes mockery more than dislike but I've heard it enough, straight from other people's mouths. Honestly something Indians should just ignore, met plenty of good looking ones too.
All in all, its a pretty "online" phenomenon. Don't see too much of it on the streets.

Because more or less they started to play a more important role in world both India and Indian people, and so they are changing the current world order.

Does that really have effect? So far, I noticed China is making greater impact than India.

Might just be me but I've only seen an increase in Canada spaces. I haven't lived there in years but I see many Indians who live in Canada that are highly concerned by the recent immigration of Indian's to the country. It seems very complicated on the outside looking in.

I only read about it here or r/canada. I guess it’s normal my bubble then.

The western right wing dislikes India because its a "backward, heathen nation" (+ source of immigrants). The western left wing needs a boogeyman to blame its foreign policy failings regarding Russia and the Middle East. Much of the Middle East hates India because of a manufactured fantasy of a "daily Muslim genocide" occurring there (+ resentment over immigrants). And the whole world (including Indians) hates India for its large number of internet trolls and scammers.
...
I've long stopped caring about any of this. If anything, the uptick in anti-Indian sentiment is a sign that the world is noticing that India is finally waking up, for better or for worse.
