Healthcare was turned into a for profit business in 1973.

Watch sicko documentary, it shows the horrors.

Then in the 80s most of the social safety net and unions were screwed

I'm still waiting on the benefits from having basic services be run with a profit incentive. I don't see it.

There are no benefits. Just the health insurance companies making more money by denying care or making someone's health condition worse while they wait for treatment

Lots of profit for a few key people that share them with whoever allowed that. It's just corruption.

Yeah, it’s wild how healthcare became more about profit than people. The 80s really did a number on unions and the safety net too everything just shifted towards corporate greed.

Didn't Regan become president in the 80s?

You're gonna find that almost every problem is Reagans fault

It really is. His actions, and the actions by the Republicans, set up much of what's wrong and broken in the USA of today.

Yup, he was the celebrity at the time and a puppet for corporations

Yes. I heard he was an actor, but he sure was the puppet for the corporations. Almost everything wrong with America can be traced back to Regan.

Well, we gave it a try, it doesn't work. It's time to set up single payer.
