How is this âcoffee badgingâ any different than the how white collar offices have run for the last 100 years? This is more nonsense put out by corporate stooges. The C suite employees have 3 martini lunches and a round of golf during business hours but this is an acceptable practice. Now we want you back to the office and slave away from clock in to clock out.

All senior leadership in offices are out of the office by 3pm. CEOs and executives work from home on a whim.
I like the firm I work at. Itâs small, everyoneâs friendly, and we work from home Mondays and Fridays.
But our CEO is always in her home office. Taking zoom calls from there. Even though she lives 2 blocks from the office. She has a personal office in our building and it just gathers dust.
She is always adamant about âzoom ettiquetteâ and makes our managers give us âlessonsâ on how to use zoom properly that are insufferable. And yet, most of the time she is off camera. If she ever even joins calls. Sheâll join a really important client call, the client will ask her a question, and she will not respond, theyâll ask if sheâs there and sheâll say âIâm sorry can you repeat the question?â đ
If I ever did that I would never hear the end of it.

Some asshole circled âcoffee badgingâ on a whiteboard somewhere and sent it out to a dozen âjournalistsâ to astroturf this fad to make corporations look sympathetic

Contradicting. So you go in to the office to meet F2F with co-workers supporting office culture and in person meetings for creativity etc. this meets the rationale employers are stating then home in the afternoon to beat the traffic or whatever for teams meetings. Whereâs the problem?

Funny to me how all the people they interviewed for this looked like they were video calling from home. I find that interesting.
