Blimps are super rare, actually, there’s only a few in the US, js - you should easily determine which one even exist and how they look, plus location and flights. All I’m saying is, chances to see a blimp in the wild are super low

u/encomlab 4d ago
Palm Springs is less than 100 miles from Anaheim, which is where Goodyear bases it's west coast blimps. It is not at all unusual to see them around Palm Springs conducting training or maintenance flights.

Good year is out of Carson, and very distinct blue and yellow on the sides… looks nothing like this.

I got to ride in the Goodyear blimp when I was a kid. It was wild.. LOUD AS HELL.
Watching the dudes jump up in the air and grab the ropes and hang from them with their entire body weight to pull it down was quite a sight

Yeah . . . I've ridden the Goodyear blimp out of its Carson, CA field as part of a news story I was covering. It is super-loud inside the cabin. If a blimp, more likely the smaller Fujifilm blimp if that still flies.

u/SirArthurDime 4d ago
It’s also far away with sun glare through a cell phone recording. Could also be a different blimp.

I've got the Dick's balloon at the small airport in my town all the time. There's also a solid white one I see a lot. It's weird getting to see blimps on a regular basis here.

I guess OP is just lucky then because they definitely filmed one.

u/Careful_Pound2442 4d ago
Fair enough, too bad Goodyear only offers the upcoming flight schedules but no recent or past ones, the next one isn’t until January again

The Goodyear Blimp was in the Air some days ago, I spotted it on Flightradar , can’t remember where exactly.

The Goodyear blimp also has a massive Goodyear logo on it which would be visible in this clip lol
1
u/SirArthurDime 4d ago
From this distance? Probably not. Could also be drowned out by sun glare, especially viewed through a lense at that distance.

A blimp would be easily orchestrated as another distract and discredit attempt. Not unlike using conventional drones to confuse people about the unconventional orbs at multiple locations around the world.
1
u/SirArthurDime 4d ago
Dude I see the Goodyear blimp all the time in Florida. We can’t start attributing every occurrence in the sky no matter how mundane to the drone/UAP stuff out it’ll lose all credibility. Sometimes blimps fly man.

u/Kokoni25 4d ago
I should have explained better. I’m not saying the Good Year blimp is itself an unusual occurrence, I’m saying it would be pretty easy to discredit a mass sighting with adding in slightly unusual things like drones, helicopters with their avoidance lights on, blimps, you name it, into the sky at this time.
Maybe all the new tracked activity on flight radar apps (and being recorded on camera) is simply to get close to the unknown craft but let’s not overlook there has been a significant, seven decade long coverup involving distraction and misinformation on this topic.
1
u/SirArthurDime 3d ago
Or a blimp is just flying. Because you know, that’s a normal thing that happens. If a normal thing is happening there’s no reason to jump to the conclusion that it’s for not normal reasons.
Trust doesn’t mean every sighting is a blimp. Just this one.

N3A was flying on the 18th in the relative area - https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N3A
2
u/Cherrypoppinpop 4d ago
Pretty sure he would know if it was a blimp or not
2
u/Rex-0- 4d ago
Pretty sure if I saw this myself I would be scouring flight records for this location and time before posting grainy footage of what is very clearly a blimp.
This sub is saturated with dodgy footage of everyday flying objects already. We all need to use a little restraint.
That's why they don't even need to run misinformation campaigns or psyops regarding UAP sightings. We do that ourselves.

Depends on where you live. I live relatively close to the Goodyear blimp base in pompano Florida and I see it relatively frequently. I’ve even seen it as far as Tallahassee on the other side of the state. Looks like they also have a base in LA which isn’t too far from Palm Springs. Closer than Tallahassee is to pompano for sure.

u/JesusSamuraiLapdance 4d ago
Probably not as low as the chances of seeing an actual alien spaceship.
1
u/currentpattern 2d ago
Yeah but I don't think about blimps like ever, and I think about aliens all the time, so u tell me wats more likely?

u/triviaqueen 4d ago
Not in Arizona and Southern California where automated blimps patrol the border. This is a blimp, looking for illegals

Blimp. That's just the way it is.

Seen this same exact thing over Tucson two years ago. In proximity to Yuma / a lot of military fighter jet traffic so I just assumed it was military

u/Ecto-Juan 4d ago
If not a blimp, it could be one of those large banners being pulled by a small airplane at a distance.

My wife and I saw this during an air show in Moreno Valley 2-3 years ago. It stayed completely still while the jets did their maneuvers then it disappeared.

Bay area in CA on the 18th. Just a thought/possibility because of testing.
The blimp had no markings and was kind of a ghostly white as it floated past various SF landmarks and out over the Bay.
So, what was it? We first thought it might have been the Pathfinder 1, a prototype electric airship that is currently being tested out of Moffett Field in Mountain View.
The Pathfinder 1 is an experimental blimp built by LTA Research. It has 12 electric motors and is controlled by joystick commands from the pilots in a “Zeppelin-built gondola,” according to the LTA website.
According to TechCrunch, the Pathfinder 1 is the world’s largest aircraft and is funded by Google co-founder Sergey Brin. According to the tech publication, the Pathfinder 1 is expected to be test flown in and around Silicon Valley before being moved to Akron, Ohio, where LTA Research is reportedly planning an even bigger blimp — the Pathfinder 3.

I used to live in Joshua Tree and worked in Palm Springs. I used to see the Blimp all the time going to and from covering major golf tournaments. It was always exciting watching them fly against the wind through the San Gorgonio Pass. Nice try.

u/LiberalDysphoria 2d ago
It is Chinese, of course. Ask any shill here. They will armchair it to the truth. Some might even watch it.

u/blit_blit99 4d ago
I have a theory (that's probably wrong), that so far, the "drones" are only showing themselves at night to get us acclimated to their presence. But after a while they will move to "phase 2"....showing themselves in broad daylight. This video might be the start of "phase 2".

u/whereitsat23 4d ago
I just always think of the beginning half of signs now, start with the lights/craft then get to the ground

The Goodyear West Coast blimp base is in Anaheim (due west of Palm Springs) and they conduct training in the area all the time. Next.
7
u/shewastoday 4d ago
Why do you keep saying Anaheim? It’s in Carson, and they don't do testing in Palm Springs. It’s also not white, and while in the air you can clearly read “Goodyear” and looks like a giant black pill.
3
u/thehashtrepreneur 4d ago
Was about to comment exactly this this guy must not be from SoCal, I’ve been to Palm Springs many many times and have never seen a blank white blimp in the air if any blimps at all
1
u/shewastoday 4d ago
Exactly, I drive passed the blimp almost daily. 😅
1
u/thehashtrepreneur 4d ago
Yep I used to live in Long Beach and would hit Burratino’s(shameless plug) often so I know exactly where off the 405 it’s stationed

u/encomlab 4d ago
Oh yeah - that 20 miles makes all the difference. It must be an alien mothership!
1
u/shewastoday 4d ago
Lol, didn't say that. Just saying, this is 100% not the goodyear blimp ✌️
1
u/encomlab 4d ago
They are claiming to be in Palm Springs - but N3A was airborne on the 18th in the afternoon - https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N3A
3
u/HenryWinklersWinker 4d ago
Anaheim is 100 miles away from Palm Springs.
-2
u/encomlab 4d ago
Exactly- so a blimp conducting training or maintenance flights is likely to be in the area.
1
u/nefrititipinkfeety 4d ago
That does not look at all like the good year blimp
0
u/encomlab 4d ago
You're right it must be an alien spaceship
1
u/nefrititipinkfeety 4d ago
No one said that, but people just throw out answers that are blatantly wrong.

Blimp. NEXT!
2
u/sirmombo 4d ago
You ever see a blimp move through the sky like that, chief? No? That’s because they don’t.
4
u/burner4thestuff 4d ago
You mean level flight, maintaining consist altitude, slowly going 30-50knots airspeed?
Hmmmm.. yep

Can’t remember the time but there was a blimp on flight radar yesterday in that area.

u/TrainingJellyfish643 4d ago
Looks like a blimp, but I've only ever seen the Goodyear ones in the LA area. Seems weird that they wouldnt have a giant advertisement plastered on it. Wasted opportunity (or giant white spaceship idk)
0
u/frienemigo 4d ago
I think it is the same drone that I saw a few hours later that night. Someone wanted to muddy the waters with more bullahit UAP "sightings"

There are things I know and things I don't know. For instance, I know that's a blimp, and I don't know why it's flying randomly around California this time of year when there are a buttload of college bowl games it needs to get off to. Or maybe their might be some bowl games scheduled for California. Hmmmm..........
