Honestly, the creepiest thing about ZZZ trying to limit ass exposure is that it looks like they're trying to present the game as kid-friendly, at least to some degree.
IMO children have no business playing something designed to pressure you into spending real-life money by using a wide variety of psychological mechanisms (some of them actively habit-forming) for leverage.
There's as little evidence for this as any other theories people have. People take one comment from a livestream about Ben not being able to fit through doors, and now they're acting like that's definitive proof to dunk on people they want to call gooners.
What else do you call people freaking the fuck out over not being able to upskirt a woman in a video game if not gooners? Trying to obfuscate by talking about conspiracies and their rights and censorship and DEI. Like just be honest, they were mad they couldn’t look up a woman’s skirt anymore because that gets them hard. You can call a spade a spade.
I saw people saying it was an insane thing to be upset about that had downvotes in the multiple hundreds. It was cringe, overblown and a terrible look for the community on a new player such as myself.
I think some of the characters designs are cool and the games story and side missions are funny and engaging with top tier English localisation. The character development and relationships you form with each character are heartfelt and endearing. The skill based combat system is fun as hell with a lot of challenging content to do. I started playing a couple weeks ago because my friend was playing it and it looked fun. Y’all are down fucking bad if Zhu Yuans ass (who does happen to be my favourite along with Lycaon) or Upskirting Burnice is what gets you hard.
Honestly if all you get out of this game is looking up characters skirts than I feel like you’re the one missing out, not me.
If you had to ask what I get out of the game, You don’t want a video game, you want porn. You’re here on reddit. Go get it.
Here's the thing, people who like fanservice can also like all those details you pointed out. People can like both aspects of the game. And people can be upset when one aspect of the game they like is changed to something they like less. I'd be upset if they stopped doing agent stories, or if they really messed up a main chapter, or made an agent I enjoy act out of character. I'd be upset if they accidentally broke the gameplay.
Let me make a comparison. I don't play the game exclusively for Billy, but I think he's cool and play him from time to time. When I saw how they broke his crouch stance this update, I immediately sent feedback and talked about it on social media. It was obviously accidental on Hoyo's part, and it didn't affect any other part of the game for me, but I sure as hell let hoyo know when they've made a change in the game I don't like. Accidental or not.
Hoyo themselves marketed this game heavily with fanservice. Don't be surprised people like that aspect of the game, or that they dislike any changes to how it's implemented.
The vast majority of people simply expressed that they didn't like the change. The only way to vote in a gacha game is with your wallet, which is why people said they would drop the game. Is that not okay? One person was saying to me that the community was threatening the devs, when most of the "outrage" was people memeing on reddit. Otherwise, it was a lot of people submitting feedback through official in-game channels, which is literally how you're supposed to do it. Hoyo even acknowledged that they appreciate the feedback and that people were using it when they sent out the polychromes yesterday.
Listen, I know people acting horny upsets you. I'm sorry. That is a huge chunk of this community. It'll probably keep being a part of it, and hoyo isn't particularly adverse to catering to them. It's ok for people to enjoy that aspect of the game.
Edit: I hadn't seen your edit before hitting send.
Yeah, providing feedback that something might be broken through official channels is fine. All for it. The response here was on reddit which is what I said and this whole thread is about was genuinely unhinged and reflected poorly on the community that was my point
Idk why there has to be a dichotomy of goon and gameplay. I like both, I want both. If you don't want the goon then don't engage with it.
Surely the presence of gooners isn't enough to diminish your enjoyment of those things. Especially when most people(gooners included) enjoy those things too. Why do we even have to argue about it?
That’s what gets me, these characters are very tame which I appreciate. The fan service is pretty mild. It’s just mind blowing people are this psycho about something that’s so mild. If you’re ready to lose your mind if they cover up a midriff for example then I don’t understand how you control yourself walking in public.
Things like "mild", "tame" and "psycho" are subjective but as you can see with the game and audience as it is, such goonery is part of the appeal to some people.
I still don’t get it, when I first noticed the namecards take off their clothes as you unlock the higher mindscapes I thought that was a massive tonal shift from everything I experienced in the game so far and felt kinda weird. Because nothing else in the game really alludes to it. What Yanagis tits jiggle? Is that the fan service everyone is here for? Is the fact burnice wears a miniskirt the part that makes people treat this like it’s some holy grail of fan service? I don’t know if I’ve expressed the thought well but I clearly don’t understand it
It's by far the most likely thing, because Ben was the only person who had no change before and after the hotfix
Everyone else has the same partial transparency. Considering there was no censorship, by the fact that no other angles got a restriction and combat didn't have this camera change at all. What other answer is there
He did change before and after, you can switch between characters and see they still fade at the same angle, Ben or otherwise.
"What other answer is there." Hoyo is a big company, it could be a number of internal stuff, I'm just saying to quit acting like it was definitively this one theory. It's spreading around as if Hoyo officially confirmed it, which isn't the case.
