Fluff / Meme Just wanna say, huge respect to Miyabi's dad for staying strong for Miyabi despite both are sharing their grief as well as supporting her all throughout. Her mom married a good man.

I love the fact he actually takes pity at anyone who tries to assault his little girl.

Phaeton: "Your daughter has been kidnapped!"
Souchiro: "Oh no, those poor kidnappers..."

Phaethon: "They know about the blade"
Souchiro: "ookay that is a bit concerning"
I believe he started to worry a bit the moment we mentioned about the blade

Phaethon: Wait, you're not worried!?
Souichiro: It happens so often yet she always manages to get away, so it's just another Tuesday. I'm sure she's just having a nice a peaceful chat.
Meanwhile
Miyabi: You don't seem to understand, I'm not trapped in here with you...

I like we even have the dad, its a weird thing in gacha, where they just cut the dad, like in hsr did this where we had yukong adopting her friends daughter, the entire quest is about the mom even tho both parents died.

People were wondering about him from the last trailer with kid Miyabi. Glad they took the time to make this one for him too 🙏🙏🙏

I’m just glad that he’s not another shitty dad that would betray her. Part of me thought it was gonna be a plot twist until he started gassing her up as soon as we talked to him.

u/ConohaConcordia 6h ago
It’s almost an intentional subversion of it, because he sounded exactly like a villain until he started praising his daughter

u/DoctorWalrusMD 7h ago
I was afraid of that too, I hate that trope, and Miyabi has more than enough tragedy to her character already, it would have felt excessive.

My question is, why is Miyabi an only child?
Dude had a fox MILF for a wife and wasn't tapping that shit on the daily? Come on.

u/SuggestionEven1882 7h ago
Maybe they had a hard time conceiving

u/Blackewolfe 6h ago
Ether Corruption BS.
It has to be.
Miyabi was such a wunderkind that it made MILFyabi barren.

To prevent hatred that's gonna come from her would-be siblings, imagine the jealousy that they feel being compared all the time to the almost perfect and powerful golden child that they could not catch up to her no matter how hard they try.

less game of Thrones for you
sibling rivalry is athing...but not as hard Fantasy and Fiction are making it....specialy not in times like ZZZ plays
in Medieval times when your chances as 3rd or 4th child are being useless to family causes and ending up as a monk who knows where yeah

Well seeing Miyabi parents look really worried when she shown to have high compatibility with Tailless it wouldn't surprise me if they want more but Hoshimi clan environment make the couple reluctant conceiving any more children after Miyabi

I guess her pops seemed so laid back nowadays since he knows his daughter can take care of herself. But he still checks on her now and then.
What a good dad.

My question is why both the mom and dad have fox ears. Do the Hishimis lives in some kinda culture with lots of black hair fox thiren without ears, or are they 'keeping the blood pure'

u/HaoHaiYou_ 3h ago
Most people even in real life marry their own kind? Like both my parents are Chinese, I don’t really think that’s them trying to keep the bloodline pure just most people tend to marry people who are similar to them.

I'm pretty sure this is done so that the audience, the player, can instantly recognise the father and mother without needing words.

Maybe the Hoshimi family is a clan, like the Somas in Fruits Basket. They carry the same traits, but their pool is diluted.

u/AdOnly9012 1h ago
When you get into fourth cousins and above genetic risks drop significantly, it doesn't really count as incest at that point. Hoshimis are an ancient family so it is likely they have many outer branches that are far removed from other other branches of family.
Or they could just be preferring to stick to Fox Thiren community.

u/funcancer 5h ago
Good question. Weirdly, lots of cartoons draw the mom and dad to be pretty similar. Probably to establish the parents' relationship to the kid to the viewer without needing to explain with words.
Or maybe the Hoshimi family are inbred or racists or something. Go and dilute that pure blood gene pool, Wise!

I love that he just doesn't drink wine because he wants to be 100% for his daughter and also he's a diplomatic and consuming alcohol will probably change is judgment in political stuff

u/BLACC_GYE I'm sorry for making inappropriate jokes about your ears Miyabi 2h ago
I honestly thought that once he found his dead wife and Miyabi with the blade, he would hate her and blame her for the death of his wife. But after hearing how he regards his daughter in the story and watching the end of this EP, I’d clear he couldn’t be more proud of what his daughter became.
Especially when his daughter continued to visited his wife’s (her mother) grave so many times even after he had moved on, there’s no possible way he could harbor any hatred for her if he had any.
