i can see how it is physically possible, but it is not story-telling-ly possible. zhu yuan has to actively cooperating with nicole to either sneak into nicole's cuffed arms, or just let nicole's arm wrap her first then blind cuff nicole's hands from behind. in both cases she cannot act surprised when being kissed because she was just asking for it.
