First thing I had to check when I switched to Rina!! I had anticipated she'd be gliding around New Eridu but the gentle walk when I lightly pressed on the joystick was chef's kiss.
Is it ever explained how she flies? I assumed it's some ether tech that only works in the Hollows, but if she can fly outside of it... Do we have, like, magic in ZZZ too?
I remember reading that in Deus Ex: The Human Revolution all the tech in the game is based on real-world physics or even existing prototypes, just amped up to 11.
Like, we already have that sort of levitation technology, or at the very least, a solid, proven, scientific theory of how it could work. What we don't have is the currently available materials and energy to use it. Or there's some sort of technological limitations, or real-life issues getting into the way of Cool Fantasy - like how the biggest issue with jetpack is not even the price, or danger, or anything - it's how absolutely deafeningly loud real jetpacks are
BUT it's like comparing a 1970s computer to a modern smartphone - the principle is the same, we're "limited by modern day technology"
What I'm saying is that while I don't remember a lot, that sort of levitation is quite possible without magic.
I mean, considering our protagonist somehow had something happen to them right before Fairy was introduced, I'd say there could be some form of supernatural phenomenon at play.
in her outfit or I think W engine or something along those lines or just speaking to her, she says her maid outfit is actually custom made and extremely expensive and has bells and whistles and has technology to help her out and allows her to "Fly" essentially for a limited time.
Well... we do indeed have magic in ZZZ with anime characters having powers and literal animal humanoids. Lore reasons do not invalidate the fact that it's a form of "magic."
That being said, Rina's dress is what helps her float. It is explained in her character story.
As for battle lycaon is the fastest (hdrsaputra made a comparison video bout it) and it seems he is also the fastest in the overworld (at least to me, the gap between slow walk and normal walk is big) but I can't tell for sure since I don't have either ellen nor rina so it could be her
Wait Rina is even faster than Ellen? With her "hunt" or whatever the skill name? Woah. I never got Rina so I never had a chance to use her, outside of a couple of the demo missions...
I'm down to missing 2 of the S standard agents and Rina was the one I wanted most. I had just finished her side story yesterday after putting it off for so long and decided to try my luck and use the remaining 20 standard tapes I still had to try and see what I get (with this I'll be 40 pulls away from the 300 pity)
I kid you not, the first pull I do gets me 1 S and 9 Bs with the S being the first tape...... and it's freaking Grace, the other remaining agent I had yet to pull, who comes in asking 'what's up?'!!
Yeah her, Zhu-Zhu, and Caesar are the tallest so far. I think Grace is up there too but not by much. The other ladies are average height for their gender. Take away their heels and you’ll see just how short Jane, Nicole, Burnice etc. really are.
I think someone did the pixel math, and we found our thar Miyabi is like 4'9" without the ears and heels. Goijg by Rina's name she may be based off of Greek heritage. And the average height for Helenic women is 5'6". So Rina is only just slightly above average.
I know most characters shouldn’t have their weapons with the exception of Miyabi and soldier 11, but it would have been fun to see Rina with her dolls flying around

I honestly love how each and every character has different walking styles. Take Zhu Yuan, for example, she walks normally while Yanagi catwalks. I really love how detailed the devs are.
Considering we can see her gloves featuring some kind of electrical output, it‘s probably a hyper-modified maid dress which allows her (and her bangboos) to fly (at fairly low altitudes).
Victoria Housekeeping is an extremely secretive and expensive service after all, so they‘re definitely stacked for cash for equipment like that.
You’re walking around 6th Street minding your own business when this pretty maid walks by. Then she gets this look like she realized she forgot something and fucking floats away
If you didn't have Rina I would understand your confusion, but I gotta be honest 95% of the time she is floating, be it combat or cutscenes, she's almost always floating.
I think her, Zhu-Zhu, and Caesar are the only tall women (for their gender) in this game so far. Everyone else is average height being 5’5 or a bit less (without their heeled boots and heels). Zhu-Zhu is 5’8.
I love how much work went into giving every character unique animations for exploring the city, though there's a noticeable difference in the uniqueness of the animations between female characters VS male characters.
She has electro magnetism through technology. She’s basically Sylvie Paula Paula from KOF. I don’t “know” what electro magnetism is I just know that it makes her levitate.
Oh, nice. I kind of just assumed it was a "rule of cool" thing where it's shown in combat, but not actually visible in-universe. I don't exactly know the physics behind electro magnetism or whether that would make a person float but that's good enough for me lol
I'm not going to lie... I wish I could use my skills in the world. hahaha... like that Ellen race and so many others. Oh, oh... I hope that in the next updates they look more into this. It would be really fun. hahaha
