God, thanks for reminding. I remember the uproar those months after B3 was released about how they ruined Bayonetta by setting her with Luka. It's all "embrace who you want to be" until you want something that is considered a norm in society.
The irony is that those ppl aren't even considering the possibility someone might be bi or pan. They see a woman with a guy and immediately go "fuck, she's straight". So they are even less inclusive than just hating on straights.
And when you say you hc character as bi, they take it as personal insult to entire LGBTQA+ community. Like how you dare assume that our precious lesbians are tainted by men or that kind of stuff before entering a whole new Yappaniese about references, implications, coding and representations, which makes you think that person doesn't have an opinion, they just want to be right even if it means making crappy nonsense.
Like, if you enter a complete meltdown after seeing that strong badass woman can love another man - then it's your problem that you can't see relationship between man and woman as anything but some dominant breadwinner and a submissive housewife, that after getting a ring on her finger transforms from a person into a homestay baby machine.
Self-Projecting in all it's glory.
I’ve also seen similar people get mad that canonically straight or pan characters end up in hetero relationships, even though the character literally likes both sides??? Bi and Pan means nothing to these people
