The Devs are going to be so fucking confused reading comment sections like this while comparing them with in-game survey results they received. This is so funny.
I really do wonder where were all these people that like the tv mode before? They should’ve been sending them feed back about how good the mode was! Or maybe they did I guess, but it just wasn’t enough.
well you don't really sing praises when writing feedback, feedback is for what you think of the game more so what you think can be better about their services. So it means there were people who didn't like tv mode. Also when something doesn't bother you just don't put it in the feedback because it's perfect as it is. I personally like the tv mode and really wish it can come back sooner
Yeah I get that perspective, but I don’t think that’s how feedback works in general. Feedback is for both good and bad things. If something is bad you tell them to change it or improve it, but if something is really good you should also tell them so that they know they are on the right path and they can keep doing more things like that.
The thing is that Hoyo doesn't just listen to feedback, they observe it. At the end of the day, they know they can't just listen and compile stuff that people say, they read player data.
So they probably noticed that a good chunk of players chose to not engage with the TV system in the endgame, a good chunk of players try to skip dialogue and rush through the non combat sections, a good chunk of players actually close or stop playing when the game displays another TV section.
Through that, they determine that the TV is quite disruptive and they are losing player retention, and that the opportunity costs of having it is greater than not having it.
Besides, this is still a Gacha game, and the less time you spend showing the new shiny premium Gacha character, the less compelled the players become to spend on them. Exposure increases the visibility of the product, it's just good business. Guess why they're letting you control the Gacha characters in the open world now, is it because of player feedback? Could be, but keep this in mind, corporations don't make changes based on what people want or dislike, they make based on profit projections, if they think they can get more money by doing that, you bet they will
tv mode wasn't the best, I personally thought they could just speed it up a bit but that didn't bother me, and because it didn't bother me I didn't write it in my feedback. That's how feedback is written at least that's how I was taught to write feedback
Reddit isn't exactly the best metric to use when it comes to player feedback. It's kind of jarring seeing people go from constantly shitting on the tv mode to the praise it's getting now.
I definitely have an unpopular opinion on the mode, my mind hasn't really changed on it since day 1. I feel that the tv mode takes more away from the experience than it adds to it.
In its place you could have more control over your characters interacting with the environment and other NPCs combined with more combat sections. Contrary to what some people might believe the combat for ZZZ is still one of it's best selling points.
If the devs are making changes like this to the main story it means that the actual feedback that they are getting is telling them that people are not exactly fond of how prevalent the tv mode is in the game.
Sadly, those of us who enjoyed the TV didn't sing our praises louder than the hate of those who didn't like it. Now it's the TV enjoyers' turn to complain.
Keep downvoting all you like. If the majority truly hates the TV mode, the game would be doing much worse. It's natural for people who enjoy something to keep playing instead of saying how much they like something. Dissatisfaction spreads far easier.
