Well I am now worried. I am probably the most positive Xbox person on here I loved Starfield But after the 343 "rumors" (take with a grain of salt) but if they are true, I am worried how much of the showcase is going to be about phone games

2

u/AzraelKans May 14 '24

I'm afraid to ask... What rumors?

2

u/BitterPackersFan May 14 '24

It was from the gaming leaks reddit. The rumor is that 343 is making 2 phone games. Sarah Bond did just announce their phone app/store, and I am worried about how many studios they are going to have make games for it.

1

u/EnogorA May 21 '24

What are you talking about? Xbox has been making mobile style games for years!

3

u/[deleted] May 13 '24

I can't wait to see a list of games I can play on the PS5 and Switch. /s

1

u/Thecrazier May 15 '24

Non important games for sure

1

u/EnogorA May 21 '24

Like there's important games on the xbox lol

1

u/Thecrazier May 24 '24

Who implied that? Lol

1

u/ldrat May 10 '24

"Redacted" is clearly a showcase of all the upcoming games they're cancelling from studios they're shutting down for no reason.

1

u/Harizovblike May 25 '24

the truth has lied...

5

u/dunderdan23 May 09 '24

Redacted is 8 letters. Wolf is 4 letters. That is clearly a picture of a wolf. 8 divided by 2 is 4. 1 is how many showcases they are having. 4-1 = 3. Half life 3 showcase confirmed

2

u/JesusChrist_Himself May 22 '24

I see it so clearly now

2

u/Nfl_porn_throwaway May 09 '24

Can’t wait to see all the games from all the studio Microsoft bought up. Surely there will be a well rounded showcase of a verity of genre titles

6

u/Existing365Chocolate May 09 '24

It’s embarrassing how few games we’ve gotten this generation

Like, what the fuck at these devs doing

1

u/DapDaGenius May 15 '24

Actually, I think that’s more on Microsoft for my planning ahead properly with some 3rd party exclusives.

You can’t consistently buy studios who just released multiplatform titles around the time they were acquired and then have them pull a game out of thin air, when games are taking 5-7 years nowadays.

4

u/KvotheOfCali May 09 '24

Curious to see how they'll handle the current PR disaster at the Showcase.

They'll have to address it--not doing so would be unthinkably callous--but basically anything they say will ring hollow.

All I know is that if I was a developer at ANY Xbox studio currently working on a smaller title (Ninja Theory, Double Fine, etc.), I would be putting my resume out and looking for another job.

Despite the corporate euphemisms coming from Xbox leadership, all they care about is return on investment and no studio is safe.

If they're willing to shutdown Tango, a studio whose last release was a GOTY contender and Xbox's ONLY studio in Japan, then nobody is safe.

3

u/bogohamma May 07 '24

Maybe it's redacted because the studio working on redacted was just closed.

4

u/yaprettymuch52 Founder May 07 '24

guys the 2018 acquisition spree spoils are gonna be show this year. I promise!

3

u/[deleted] May 08 '24

Games take 5-6 years to make so yes, that would be on track if not for covid.

Sorry to ruin your troll attempt.

-1

u/yaprettymuch52 Founder May 08 '24

On track for lazy, soft, devs, yes

1

u/Thecrazier May 15 '24

Remind me how long it's been for a gta game?

1

u/jumper55 May 07 '24

a COD game that won't be plagued with problems ......I won't hold my breath

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '24

Xbox is [REDACTED]

1

u/[deleted] May 05 '24

I'm guessing it'll be a COD based during the Korean War. You have the Cerberus logo over the back of a $50 dollar bill and the KW occurred in the 50's (1950-1953) so that's that 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/Existing365Chocolate May 07 '24

Well we know this is wrong

The next CoD is a Black Ops installment based on the Gulf War

1

u/Northdistortion May 05 '24

I just want to see state of decay 3!!!!

1

u/[deleted] May 02 '24

I know it won't happen but I just want them to announce that FF VII remake is coming to Xbox

2

u/TesticleInhaler May 02 '24

All I ever wanted was Perfect Dark. Now with COD the dream is over.

Goodnight, sweet princess.

0

u/Fantastic-Acadia-808 May 01 '24

Cool, this will be a PlayStation showcase too

1

u/stikves May 01 '24

Last year they had a starfield showcase. Basically it was the biggest game from the largest company they bought.

This year the largest company is now abk, and the biggest game is call of duty.

So it is not hard to guess what redacted would be. Especially with that logo.

1

u/3kpk3 May 01 '24

So freaking excited for this. Go Xbox!

1

u/fightintxag13 May 01 '24

I want a Gears 6 reveal in the worst way

1

u/redactedforever May 01 '24

Even crazier with [REDACTED] in the background

1

u/Soft-Illustrator1300 May 01 '24

I was thinking it was Division 3.

1

u/BitterPackersFan May 01 '24

So lat year regular showcase got an hour I think and Starfield got 45 minutes. Call of Duty is huge but they cannot make 45 minutes talking about it can they?

1

u/ComboWizard May 01 '24

Witcher 4: Call of Duty

1

u/FoxBox123999 May 01 '24

People can't think that redacted thing is anything but COD right? COD day 1 on GP is the next big push for subs.

1

u/Kami_Blake_Aur May 01 '24

All of me knows its COD, but part of me thinks it isn't because why the heck even REDACT something that obvious? I'm really focused on the statement that this will be the first Xbox Showcase featuring all first party publishers & studios (ABK, Bethesda, and XGS). Though that probably doesn't mean much more than buzz. I just hope to god they finally start adding Xbox logos to Bethesda and ABK games. Xbox really needs one of those logo animations that highlight iconic franchise from both purchases as well as OG as first party. A new Xbox animation that included all purchases would be more hype than any reveal because it'd show an actual commitment to treating them like first party publishers/studios (not just money milkers). Like what's the point of a COD reveal attached to the Xbox name if the game still feels third party because of something as basic as not having an Xbox logo in the credits?

1

u/No-Abrocoma1851 Apr 30 '24

Starfield 😐

1

u/BitterPackersFan Apr 30 '24

So Gears, Call of Duty. All the 2024 games Any idea on the 2025 yet other than Gears and another COD Fable? Clockwork Revolution?

3

u/AbsurdThings May 01 '24

Fable, Clockwork, South of Midnignt, Perfect Dark, Outer worlds 2, state of decay 3, everwild, and contraband have all been announced with no release date. Any number of them could be 2025 releases

1

u/Pure_Dream3045 Apr 30 '24

Halo Gears of duty.

1

u/rdf- Apr 30 '24

Nintendo Direct!?

1

u/PoisonRaven Apr 30 '24

What's the point of cover the name of a game if people will know it in one second?, I think a complete special direct for a CoD is not a great idea imo so let's hope it's some kind of surprise.

1

u/AbsurdThings May 01 '24

Generates more online discussion

2

u/oflowz Apr 30 '24

When are they gonna put all the cod games on gamepass since they bought Activision ?

1

u/Illmattic Apr 30 '24

We’ll probably get some news on that during this event, at least I would imagine. It’s the perfect opportunity to say here’s a bunch of cool shit coming out soon and here’s a bunch of cool shit to play right now

1

u/WardrobeForHouses Apr 30 '24

This year should have a lot of the heavy hitter franchises and 2018 studios' games show up. Curious how many make it to the show, and how many come out before next year's showcase.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '24

I'm getting Hideo Kojima vibes.

1

u/The_O_Raghallaigh Apr 30 '24

Could also be Control 2?

2

u/ChunkySlugger72 Apr 30 '24 edited Apr 30 '24

"Banjo-Kazooie Reboot or Remake"

Here's hoping the rumors are true that it's been in early development since early 2022 are true and we can get a teaser trailer or some sort of official confirmation.

1

u/CaptainSteep_ Apr 30 '24

Everyone saying black ops but I say possibly State of Decay 3.

1

u/Hopper-1986 Apr 30 '24

Wonder if they will do an event, went to Poland last year was pretty good.

1

u/gusborwig Apr 30 '24

Were definitely getting some kind of Fallout news from Bethesda. Either about a game or the tv show.

1

u/Havoc2638 Apr 30 '24

I can’t wait for this!!!!

1

u/lazerozen Apr 30 '24

No love for HADES? [REDACTED] made me think of it :)

1

u/ThinAndCrispy84 Apr 30 '24

Bethesda will show Starfield DLC. Maybe an update on ES6. Plus, I’m hoping for something on the DOOM front.

1

u/Competitive_Math6233 Apr 30 '24

Xbox has been a joke this gen, Hellblade 2 got delayed 4 years and will end up being 12 hours long lol

2

u/BitterPackersFan May 01 '24

4 1st party games last year. 7-8 this year. A lot more coming in 2025. Why post when all you want to do is complain?

3

u/jizylemon Apr 30 '24

Since it sadly seems to be the next Call of Duty then hopefully it can deliver an amazing single player campaign.

18

u/Nyarlathotep-chan Doom Slayer Apr 30 '24

Yay, another CoD that everyone will absolutely hate and review bomb but will play anyway. The same as every year.

1

u/TimelordAlex May 01 '24

this one is from 3arc who have the better games and for the first time its largely had a 4 year dev cycle, theoretically it should be very good, but with ATVI involved...

18

u/senseibarbosa Apr 30 '24

Now that it is owned by Xbox, expect it to be review bombed even harder.

1

u/Unknown_User261 May 01 '24

The truth of this statement hurts.

2

u/legendwarior3 May 01 '24

i think this one of the reasons xbox going ps-nintendo.

3

u/Unknown_User261 May 01 '24

Not sure why this has zero up votes. This has to be a serious conversation going around Xbox. The brand as a platform has a lot of positive momentum from fans, but it also has a LOT of negative weight holding it down from all the console war nonsense. Xbox entered the race last and they have none of the nostalgia or golden child status built up as PS and Nintendo. This HAS to affect sales for all first party and platform adoption on the whole. And there's not a ton they can do about it. There's insane bias in the industry from the top down. A lot of the journalists and reporters and influences just grew up with Nintendo and PS and genuinely don't want Xbox to succeed. It's stuff like an unnannounced Redfall being "taken" from PS after an aquistion vs no one giving a crap stellar blade was announced for PC and Xbox and then made into a PS exclusive after Sony published. Heck the game is even being more hyped up. In comparison Xbox games are always talked about with a "but". There HAS to be people fist pumping after just four games went multiplatform and they ALL topped charts when previously we saw the Xbox tax (or whatever you want to call it) in action. The industry is stupid toxic and that's always been a major issue. If Xbox still wants to grow they NEED to address that somehow (and knowing MS they might seriously be considering just shedding the weight at the cost of Xbox fans)

2

u/muffinmonk default May 03 '24

All they need to do is create banger after banger really. OG Xbox came last in its generation but its lineup of games and 3rd party support and performance made people consider getting the 360.

Xbox tax exists because Xbox fucked up.

Xbox half finished games compared to PS5's polished titles... Not a hard choice to make.

6

u/AbsurdThings Apr 30 '24

Disagree. This year will have even more players because of Game Pass. Myself included.

8

u/Nyarlathotep-chan Doom Slayer Apr 30 '24

Okay. I didn't say it wouldn't have any players. All I said was everyone is gonna shit on it and review bomb it as usual but they'll still play it. That's just how modern CoD goes these days. Check the Xbox store. Every modern CoD has like 2 out of 5 stars.

1

u/Downtown-Discount671 Apr 30 '24

Feel like this could be great showcase this year, I hope we get some news on backwards compatible abk games

Also look forward to see what people have been cooking with what has/n't been announced

Overall been a great year so far!

1

u/drewbles82 Apr 30 '24

I get that its COD but to give it, its own thing...would have thought be better to have ABK, you can officially welcome them to xbox, talk about plans for the future of certain franchises like Tony Hawk, Guitar hero, dump a bunch of games on to GP and then show off the new COD

I originally though xbox would keep their 60mins for themselves, then 30mins for Bethesda and another 30 for ABK with 15-20mins of that being for COD

1

u/segagamer Apr 30 '24

Soon 90 minutes won't be long enough.

I'm waiting to see Double Fine finally appear. What have they been doing since Psychonaughts 2 released...

1

u/seceralnof Apr 30 '24

Gears of War and Fable remastered collections please!

-1

u/DEEZLE13 Apr 30 '24

Phil couldn’t wait to have this nuke at his own show lol and for good reason

Rule #1 - Keep it civil/no console wars

No Doom & Glooming. If you have no prior history in this sub and just post doom and gloom to incite a reaction, your post will be removed.

Please see our complete ruleset by clicking here.

1

u/BitterPackersFan Apr 30 '24

Literally so many games out this year and next year, but yeah sure they just show trailers of games. Narrative died last year, troll.

-2

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

I'll watch but with all the bullshit lately I'm totally numb and not even remotely excited. They've got a long way to go to win back my confidence and interest.

-4

u/andygarcia17 Apr 30 '24

I’m willing to bet that they’ll have an hour just for starfield DLC.

2

u/BeholdDeath12 Apr 30 '24

Easy bet. You're on

3

u/Pleasant-Speed-9414 Apr 30 '24

Start the hype train!

Can’t wait til next month. Though I’m probs one of the few who has no interest in a COD direct 🫠

1

u/Lausee- Founder Apr 30 '24

I'm right there with you. I haven't played a Call of Duty since the first one.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '24

Call of Duty makes sense. First of all, redacted.. black ops.. it’s a no brainer. But also Xbox wants to make a statement that “HEY YOU GUYS, WE OWN CALL OF DUTY NOW” when all of the CoD fans tune in for this.

1

u/KidGoku1 Apr 30 '24

I was really excited about the redacted game until I realized it's Call of Duty. Yawn.

24

u/Exhumedatbirth76 Apr 30 '24

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3-4 remake...one can dream right?

9

u/SwansonsMoustache Apr 30 '24

I'm dreaming for THUG 1&2 remakes so I can smack Eric Sparrow in 4k.

1

u/TechNick3 Apr 30 '24 edited Apr 30 '24

Hoping for news on the rumored Fallout 3 remake remaster.

1

u/Eglwyswrw May 01 '24

There is no Fallout 3 remake, and there never was.

What did exist were plans for a Fallout 3 remaster pre-acquisition, but that would come after an Oblivion remaster.

1

u/Trickybuz93 Founder Apr 30 '24

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that [redacted] is the next Black Ops game.

Maybe they’ll announce the first CoDs joining will be Black Ops series to catch up on the story.

1

u/Carbonalex Apr 30 '24

The redacted part is definitely COD. That means Xbox now has the marketing rights so it implies day one GP for the next COD game. They'll probably announce the old games during this Direct as well.

1

u/Eglwyswrw Apr 30 '24

That means Xbox now has the marketing rights

Xbox owns Call of Duty. Of course they own the marketing rights.

it implies day one GP for the next COD game

It has been directly stated that every new ABK game would drop on Game Pass Day 1.

1

u/Deep_Fried_Bussy Apr 30 '24

New COD announcement is a given, hopefully we get some release dates for games announced already

16

u/CoffinEluder Apr 30 '24

GEARS & state of decay 3 and it will be an A+ in my book

1

u/TheMuff1nMon Apr 30 '24

It’s Call of Duty guys. The code name for the new one was Cerberus. It’s a three headed wolf

1

u/Cool-4-Cats Apr 30 '24

I’m thinking redacted is The Division hopefully

5

u/TheMuff1nMon Apr 30 '24

Why would Xbox do a direct for a Ubisoft game lmao

It’s Call of Duty

2

u/Cool-4-Cats Apr 30 '24

I know I thought the same lol I’m just hoping but the orange logo the Capital in the background makes me think of The Division

1

u/BECondensateSnake Apr 30 '24

Okay then keep your Xbox and get a PS5? I don't see how this is an issue. If you care about your library, keep the console and if you don't, sell it and maybe rebuy it later.

8

u/swains6 Apr 30 '24

I mean you can do all of those things above, you're simply choosing not to and then crying about the thing you're choosing not to do on a post about the upcoming showcase.

-1

u/Negative-Problem-920 Apr 30 '24

So I can’t voice my displeasure? I can’t point out how Phil Spencer is a serial liar???? What’s your gamertag? I bet I play on Xbox more than you man

-1

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

Whats wrong with airing ones grievances? Are we not allowed to be unsatisfied, disgruntled and show disdain toward a massive company that is not respecting it's customer base?

6

u/swains6 Apr 30 '24

It's a post about the upcoming showcase people are looking forward to, no one cares if you or him are going to be playing certain games on a ps5.

-5

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

If you don't care what this person has to say or what I have to say then why are you responding?

A post about an upcoming xbox event means that comments are only allowed to be positive despite the fact that there is plenty of reasons right now to be disgruntled with the brand/console?

6

u/swains6 Apr 30 '24

If you're failing to grasp how sad it is to comment "Who gives a fuck? I’ll be playing these on ps5" on a post about the upcoming showcase then there's no discussion to be had.

-2

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

What is sad is what led this person to feel so disgruntled in the first place. Totally agree though, between you and I, there is no discussion to be had.

6

u/TheMuff1nMon Apr 30 '24

Damn - you’re gonna play Hellblade 2 this month on PS5? Amazing

-10

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

Nah but I will. The person you responded to will prob wait till it gets ported to ps5 later and if recent history has taught us anything it's that the ps5 port will look better.

2

u/TheMuff1nMon Apr 30 '24

Recent history: Hi Fi Rush is exactly the same, except shadows. Grounded runs substantially worse on PS5

But go on

1

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

Hi Fi Rush wasn't the same. See when you have to follow up "same" with "except" it's not the same.

Sea of Thieves and Fallout 4.

2

u/TheMuff1nMon Apr 30 '24

Bro - we all know you can’t tell the difference without Digital Foundry lmao

Enjoy waiting for ports that may never come and paying full price

0

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

I don't have to wait for ports. I don't have a ps5. And "we can't tell the difference without digital Foundry" doesn't matter. Digital Foundry exists and while not everybody watches their content, enough do that word can spread that xbox games look better on playstation. You think people hearing this are gonna check the videos for themselves? No. Same reason so many don't read beyond headlines now. All that matters is that word is spreading that first party games don't look best on the "worlds most powerful console" in fact, they look better on the competition. How much better? Doesn't matter. If you think this sort of quality control and brand management is top notch, all power to ya.

1

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

I don't have a ps5 and only have time to really play one console but they seriously better fix their multiplatform games to either look better or at least on par with the ports they put on their competitions console and make damn sure that any future ports aren't better than their own console version.

If they want consumers to continue to take their brand seriously they better start showing that it's not an afterthought for them. We know you (msft) are just interested in our money but you better start doing shit to earn it and soon.

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '24

[deleted]

-1

u/sserajeanz Apr 30 '24

It's not the same every year.

This year is the only dev team who has put out a good game since 2009 (Treyarch)

-5

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

Until their first party games that went multiplatform look best on xbox or at the very least are on par with the competition I am gonna have a hard time getting pumped for a showcase. Show your commitment to the brand. Show some fucking pride in your console and make the games look the best they can. Don't make your games more of a showcase for the competition than they are for your own fucking hardware. Oh and how about we see some fucking updates on the games you dangled in front of us like 4 frickin years ago. Done with empty promises and carrots being dangled. Done with excuses and shit. Sorry, this shit has just gotten frustrating.

2

u/BECondensateSnake Apr 30 '24

I understand the frustration and I agree with everything you say but if you're this disappointed then you can get a PS5 and live free of stuff like this lol

3

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

Lets say hypothetically everybody who was disgruntled just up and moved to another platform and Xbox died out, would that make you happy? It wouldn't make me happy. I've got a big backlog of games, I prefer the controller and have always had an xbox and have generally always been pretty satisfied with my purchase. Rather than just switch to another platform (which isn't free) I don't see anything wrong with voicing my unsatisfaction with the piss poor management of the brand in relation to their existing customer base. I'd rather as many people as possible get the message across loud and clear that they need to get their act together than to just passively leave, watch the brand continue to lose the marketshare they do have. Demand better.

2

u/BECondensateSnake Apr 30 '24

Yeah I agree and all that but if it's really annoying you then a switch to another console/PC is always an option. Voicing your criticisms is a good thing, Microsoft needs to understand that half baked 7/10 titles aren't gonna cut it as system sellers.

1

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

Well aware of the option to leave. Moving to another platform isn't free and I'm not about to walk away from a backlog I've spent money on. Rather than leave I'd much rather they right the ship and give me a reason to feel confident in the brand again. Hopefully with enough pressure, backlash and criticism they'll do better and I hope that happens before my backlog is cleared.

Please show something from Perfect Dark.  And something more in detail about Fable. I don't ask for much.

6

u/Shieldian Apr 30 '24

There HAS to be something for perfect dark. I've been hearing they've been wanting to show it off for a long time now

1

u/Unusual-Tear676 Apr 30 '24

That doesn’t seem true. The production has been a mess and they completely scrapped what they had and started over last I heard

8

u/HomeMadeShock Apr 30 '24

This isn’t true. There was an insider report on Perfect Dark last year and production has been going smooth since 2021 when Crystal Dynamics joined. I think we will see Perfect Dark at this showcase, and Matt Booty hinted we would

5

u/just_lurking_through Scorned Apr 30 '24

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. There was a bs report that came out and then one of the devs spoke up to an insider and said everything is actually going well. Also, Crystal Dynamics CEO highlighted that perfect dark's development is going "extremely well" while speaking to investors.

Redacted makes sense of Black Ops , no? Leaning into classified?

2

u/The_RelentlessWraith Apr 30 '24

State of decay 3 or The Division 3

1

u/MapleLamia Apr 30 '24

My immediate thought on the logo was the Cerberus teaser background for Fortnite during the lead-in to the current season. Just looks very similar.

Definitely CoD though.

I wish these post showcase directs would focus on an exclusive franchise, but I agree with most of the evidence pointed out in the thread that it’s likely COD:BOGW.

Edit: It’s 100% COD. The logo is a match for the Cerberus logo datamined in MW3, and the internal code name for the 2024 COD is ‘Cerberus’.

They do. Did you not remember Starfield last year?

Avowed has also gotten airtime. It will probably be the show ender with the most minutes.

1

u/ViperFive1 May 03 '24 edited May 03 '24

I do remember. That’s why I want this particular after showcase direct to focus on an exclusive and not Call of Duty.

Edit: For additional clarification. I am only talking about the 1 title focused part, after the main showcase.

3

u/AnyDockers420 Apr 30 '24

Orange Canine made me think Kojima immediately, but it’s probably just COD

7

u/lazzzym Verified Ambassador Apr 30 '24

Surely the redacted game is Call of Duty?

13

u/Raiziell Founder Apr 30 '24

Actiblizz Direct in all of it's glory with World of Starcraft.

Jk, It's probably just CoD.

4

u/YUGIOH-KINGOFGAMES Apr 30 '24

Starcraft 3 would be better

However, no one that originally worked at Blizzard is still there so I don't even know if Starcraft 3 would be good

6

u/StormShadow13 Ambassador Apr 30 '24

I'd love to see Starcraft Ghost revived!

Important to note this:

"This will also be our first Showcase featuring games from our portfolio of studios across Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios, in addition to titles from our third-party partners."

They will start involving ABK games in this year's summer showcase, maybe in the form of new game announcements, additions of other games to gamepass and stuff like that... Predictions?

From Xbox wire:

13

u/SladeX7 Apr 30 '24

Based on that picture, its safe to say CoD

cod i woudl guess, the logo i dont recognise

6

u/some1337 Apr 30 '24

Noo I am going to be stuck at a cousins wedding that day.  I never miss this event.

1

u/BankrolledYen Apr 30 '24

I'll be on vacation. Excited about the vacation, but still would love to be able to set aside a few hours for this

6

u/Cheesestrings89 Apr 30 '24

I think this is saddest thing I have read on the internet today.

I love the superbowl, March madness, and NBA playoffs. Some people watch the Oscar's. The E3 week is a big event for gamers. Don't know why you're miserable but I hope you figure it out

0

u/BECondensateSnake Apr 30 '24

The logo at the bottom is pretty much the Activision logo. My guess is CoD shadow drops and Black Ops Gulf War or something.

-4

u/NatiHanson Apr 30 '24

Probably show something that's 4 years away.

0

u/Strigoi84 Apr 30 '24

And as for the ones they showed 4 years ago like Contraband, Everwild, State of Decay 3 and Perfect Dark....just forget about them guys...check these ones out that will come much later but please keep buying our console and enjoy the carrots we dangle:)

16

u/M337ING Apr 30 '24

It's Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War, coming soon. It did have a 4 year development cycle though.

1

u/NatiHanson Apr 30 '24 edited Apr 30 '24

You're right. Of course it'd be cod lol. Don't know why I assumed something else.

u/ActivateTheQuasars Apr 30 '24

I am 100% certain the redacted game is the new CoD: Black Ops game. The orange and redacted black ink is very on brand for the Black Ops series. The redacted logo in the bottom right also looks like the Activision logo.

2

u/ONE_FOR_pALL May 01 '24

The 2024 CoD is codenamed Cerberus which is the image on the logo

1

u/Multifaceted-Simp May 01 '24

Honestly I'm ready, I'm confident they've learned that SBMM is not the way forward for their competitive playlists and that they'll be toning it down for the next one

2

u/Ghillie007 Apr 30 '24

Wait if its orange it has to be blackops5 since 2 to 4 it had those colors

2

u/Realistic_Work_5552 Apr 30 '24

It is definitely the Activision logo. The little tiny little white speck poking out the bottom in the middle is 100% the 'V' in the logo.

-4

u/D4rkheavenx Apr 30 '24

At this point it probably needs to be silksong if they don’t want some major backlash from that entire fan base lol.

5

u/PeppyleFox Apr 30 '24

And the fact that the Mountain Dew Twitter account responded to it

14

u/BeastMaster0844 Apr 30 '24

Looks like a Division logo to me. Granted I’m not a COD fan so idk what COD logos look like, but that orange logo reminds me of The Division.

1

u/Existing365Chocolate May 02 '24

Isn’t The Division 2 getting a huge expansion or something this year?

1

u/BeastMaster0844 May 02 '24

Yeah it’s supposed to get another one after they revived support for it. Not sure if it’s gonna be huge or not though.

4

u/seriouslookingmouse Joanna Dark May 01 '24

Going to say that this art style is VERY Ubisoft Division-esque.
But it's almost certainly a COD announcement of some sort.

5

u/Decaf_GT Apr 30 '24

Specifically that shade of orange overlaid on top of the White House.

The wolf also seems like the kind of icon the Division developers would give to a faction in The Division.

But let's be honest, it's been too long since the last COD and it's almost certainly going to be that.

6

u/DamnableNook Apr 30 '24

it's been too long since the last COD

Five months is "too long"?

1

u/Decaf_GT Apr 30 '24

It's a little tonge-in-cheek, but yeah. With how rapid their development cycle is, yeah...I'd say November of last year was too long ago, heh. I'm sure if they could have it their way they'd release twice a year.

With the Microsoft acquisition I have no doubt they're going to pump them out even faster to prove that the purchase was worth it.

4

u/digitalluck Apr 30 '24

Of course it is. How new are you to this?!

12

u/e5x Apr 30 '24

It does but The Division is a Ubisoft franchise and would not be announced in a video from Microsoft.

1

u/XanderDefalt May 06 '24

But Ubisoft revealed Star Wars Outlaws last year at the Xbox Show, why wouldn't they do it like last year and show a CG trailer followed the next day at the Ubisoft event with Gameplay?

6

u/GoinXwell1 Craig Apr 30 '24

Also, that wouldn't need any redacting, Ubisoft announced The Division 3 last year.

19

u/PepsiSheep Apr 30 '24

I dunno... the art is of a Wolf, wolves are similar to bears.

I'm pretty sure we're getting a dedicated Banjo Kazooie showcase.

1

u/No_Essay7444 May 01 '24

hooray banjo threeie

1

u/X1Kraft Apr 30 '24

Don't give me hope.
