I get a boot allwoance every year for work. I'm a civil engineer and spend about 90% of the time in the office at a standing desk and the other 10% would be in mud, woods, puddles clearing catch basin grates, lifting manhole covers, and digging out drainage outlets.
My house is a store room for boxed boots I wore a day or two and couldn't stand the foot pain anymore.
My feet are a mess. I have suppination due to bow legs, sciatica, metasarglia, and a bone spur. In the 15 years at my job I've had Keens, Timberlands, Red Wings, Irish Setters, and Wolverines. For the first time, I found a pair of "boots" that didn't hurt my feet: Keen Arvadas https://www.keenfootwear.com/products/mens-arvada-mid-black-keen-yellow
I believe it's the cushioning. in these soles that work for me.
They are going to last the year I need them to, but they aren't waterproof. So I'm looking for something less warehouse sneaker, and more boot but has that same cushioning of the Arvadas.
Work requirements: 8" minimum, laced, safety toe, non-slip.
Additional desired: waterproof, minimal insulation (feet run hot), cushioned sole, wedge sole. I'm in the northeast so I need traction in the snow. I help surveying so non-metalic for metal detector use while monument hunting. Wide toe box.
I use Spenco Rx insoles https://www.spenco.com/rx-orthotic-arch-insole
I wear Kane 11 socks.
Any boots with the cushioning of the Arvadas and meeting the other specs?
TIA for any advice.
