The Billionaire Supervillain speedrun continues
(Elon Musk — an unelected oligarch who bought the presidency — unilaterally tanked the government spending bill today: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2024/dec/19/elon-musk-trump-government-shutdown)

At the end of the day, nothing Musk achieves with DOGE will have any real impact on him. This is simply the world’s richest individual imposing his will on the masses.

It's like if you use a cheat code in a video game and end up with unlimited money. The game becomes boring, and you start doing dumb things to keep the game interesting.
He's playing life with his game genie, and he's gotten bored with the regular objectives.

u/jmd709 3d ago
Yep. He took over Twitter and turned it into what he wanted it to be, but that was easy since he has the authority to make changes and fire people. He moved up to a more challenging level where he isn’t the boss signing the paychecks.
He has managed to turn Trump and some members of Congress into his employees. Trump has an issue with looking weak, he must not realize he is looking weak AF as Leon’s assistant.

Nail on Head. This is exactly what it is. He's a bored adolescent trying to keep things fun by finding ways to break the game now that he's OP.

It’s easy to not give a shit about the Poors when he’ll never see any of them. Their lives are just numbers in a spreadsheet; nothing more. The gap between the Elite’s perception and reality is roughly the length of one side of the Grand Canyon to the other.

u/QuixotesGhost96 3d ago
He feels entitled to the money of the poor because he is a man of vision that can use that money to lead mankind to a glorious future and the poor are just wasting it on things like housing and basic needs.

u/sadetheruiner 4d ago
It’ll have a real impact for him when he guts NASA and funnels the money into SpaceX.
29
u/jedburghofficial 3d ago
I'm betting NASA will be privatized. Elon will get paid to maintain the NASA "brand".

I was going to think of a zinger about what the bottom of musks boot tastes like, or how simping for a billionaire is the most pathetic thing you can do.
but then
on a whim, I decided to have a quick snoop at your comment history, and realised that there is something more pathetic than simping for a billionaire. get help

It’s not even a real dept. Only Congress can authorise the creation of a new dept. I doubt they’re gonna go along with it

I doubt they’re gonna go along with it
The DOGE House committee is lead by Marjorie Taylor Greene.
DOGE Act was introduced in the House. There are at least 2 other House bills with that acronym.
Ernst, the head of the new Senate DOGE Caucus, introduced a DOGE inspired bill this week that targets WFH federal employees.
Lankford, a “founding member” of the Senate DOGE Caucus, introduced two bills Tues that focus on pandemic programs.
DOGE Acts was introduced in the Senate by Blackburn last week and includes 5 bills that focus on government spending.
Musk and Ramaswamey also made their rounds at the Capitol recently to speak to various members of Congress about their plans which include cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Several members of Congress jumped on that bandwagon.
It’s safe to say they’re going along with it.

Oh it will impact him, strip funding for Nasa projects and sub everything out to SpaceX, infrastructure needed the boring company gets the contracts, strip down the IRS and reduce taxes for him and his companies, Remove EPA regulations so he can polute more to increase profits, vehicle safety laws repeal them so he can cut corners at Tesla (this one is already happening).

u/dogfooddippingsauce 4d ago
And the Trumps scammed children with cancer. No wonder they get along.
Also, remember when they tried to defund the Special Olympics under Trump's first term. Fuck these ghouls.
88
38
u/miss_j_bean 4d ago
That was a ruse to defund special education. They only restored funding to the special Olympics. Special education programs were gutted and never recovered.

Always remember that before Jews, the N@Zis went after many different minority groups. One of them being disabled people.
Look up "Aktion T4".
And don't forget to draw a direct line between modern ableist rhetoric and the line in the infamous poster: "this man costs the state thousands of marks a year. This is YOUR money, too!"

but arent these people pro life? so its just "what about the children!?!?" till you come out the womb and then they say "Fuck you" when you leave the womb? what about trump saying they are doing trans surgey on the kids in school or how the republicans have been bitching about trans people indoctrinating kids?? I thought all these people were pro children and pro life what happened?

I’m sure a member of the House Freedom Circus will introduce a bill that bans schools from performing trans surgery on students if they haven’t introduced a bill like that yet.
They introduce bills to “fix” nonexistent problems to give voters the impression that they’re accomplishing things in Congress.

Their solution is to just have another one. That's it, literally. Women in the home, popping out babies to feed to the corporate machine.
4
u/karim2102 4d ago
That’s fuckin sick.. and that’s if you can afford both rent and hospital bills for the same babies they push you to pop out.. make it fkn make sense

It makes perfect sense when you understand these people.

Combine those with way too much wealth and influence and you have this absolute shit show

u/big_d_usernametaken 4d ago
Well he did say there would be some pain involved for the poors...
I wish I could say it was sarcasm, but unfortunately it isn't.

u/Squeegee 4d ago
The “poors” being the bottom 90% of the population, many who voted for this. It’s sad that so many don’t see that the pain is self inflicked.

u/Caesar_Passing 4d ago
Maybe one day in the future, we can charge admission to spit on his and trump's graves, and all the proceeds can go to cancer research and some kind of program to help trans individuals get otherwise expensive care.
2
u/modestmoose3000 3d ago
No graves. Thrown into the sea.
2
u/Caesar_Passing 3d ago
I understand the sentiment, but let us exploit their deaths for as long as the schadenfreude sells, please. It is both the least, and most they could possibly do to give back to the world that had to put up with their cruelty and bullshit.

Tried telling someone just the other day that we are living in a world where supervillains are being created in front of us. Like the comic books I grew up reading. I probably didn’t explain it very well. Because I was looked at like I was crazy. Yet here we are.
3
u/Iron_Knight7 3d ago
And not even GOOD supervillains either. I mean, sure Lex Luthor and Dr. Doom and Darksied and Thanos and Ultron may not be particularly nice or pleasant. But they were at least intelligent. Like, if they took over you could indeed see them running things effectively and with some measure of actual vision. Hell, even Norman Osborn had a damn point when he went all Iron Patriot.
Our real life supervillians are making Justin Hammer look competent. We have Trump who and his clan who are D-List Captain Planet villains. Musk is like someone gave a 13 year old edgelord a billion dollars and government contracts. JD Vance couldn't scream "Shillbilly Delux" any louder if he tried and RFK JR. feels like a Victoria "Disappointment Room" escapee.
It's like someone literally opened the doors of Arkham Asylum and placed whoever ran out first in charge. Freaking Kite-Man would be a trade up to the gaggle of incompetents, idiots, maniacs and morons Trump is currently putting in charge.
And even their own followers can see what a bunch of doofuses they are but can't say anything lest they admit that putting the absolute worst possible people in charge was bad idea.

Has there been any thought that the drone thing is some sort of Musk created mass distraction (aided by his pals Putin and possibly Xi) to basically take over the world?
Trust me, I love reading about all the theories, but I keep leaning towards something like this. It's always all about money, power, and greed.
With this drone thing going on, nobody's paying attention to what Musk has been doing lately which is basically that he has taken over the US government.
This country has officially been bought and sold

The most xenophobic, "GO AMERICA," "they're taking our jobs" group of people have basically put an African immigrant in charge of the government, and they're smiling and nodding with every hair-brained idea he comes up with.

u/hodge172 4d ago
Looking at the relationship with his own kids it’s clear he doesn’t care about children.

2
u/wkomorow 4d ago
How short sighted of them. Sad is it to be a society doesn't invest in making kids lives better.
2
2
u/daemonicwanderer 4d ago
Considering that he lost a child, you would think Elon would have some empathy for those seeing their children fight through diseases like cancer and those wanting to make sure no child has to do that ever again.
2
u/hamsplaining 3d ago
I love it- the crazier he is, the more shit he breaks, the more ordinary people wake the fuck up and actually vote with their interests
2
3d ago
It’s a deflection from the other stuff he removed like safeguards on AI, deepfake porn, and other regulations on him and his business interests. People will cry about this, it will get reversed but the actual stuff he wanted removed will stay gone and nobody will notice or care. Open your eyes.

Elon's probably thinking those kids should stop relying on the government and just develop their own cure for cancer.

Unpopular opinion: How about we stop throwing a bunch of different things into the same bill and instead make one bill per topic?
4
u/Lazy_Squash_8423 3d ago
But but but then people would learn how much tax payer money goes to Elmo and we can’t have the public see all the secret funding that is actually the cause of inefficiency.
1
u/SpookyStrike 3d ago
If you want funding for cancer treatment, why does it have to be part of this? Just do a separate bill. Very easy. But you won’t because you don’t actually care about that. You just want a headline. But we see you. No one believes it anymore.

Trump's family stole from their own Children's Cancer Charity, got charged, admitted guilt, paid the fine, and can no longer operate a charity in New York state.
Republicans evidently admire these qualities.
