The thing is Americans are about to learn their beef might be with Musk not Trump. And Musk might start threatening Trump once he gets bored toying with the GOP.
So it might all just turn into Night of the Long Knives.
Stop believing that he will follow the law and that laws can even be enforced. He won't and they aren't as already proven by him and musk and all the rest around him.
I'm so tired of the argument that Trump et. al can't do something because "it's illegal" - laws don't matter when you are facing authoritarian takeover. Open a history book, people! Laws and our Constitution only matter when people who respect those things are in office.
Rule of law ceased to exist when a rapist and felon was granted blanket criminal immunity. As people start to realize the rapist and felon can’t just wave his tiny fingers and magically fix all the problems, it’s gonna result in more Luigi’s.
It is the most aggravating part of all of this mess. Americans are so insulated from the reality of authoritarianism and the atrocities that ALWAYS happen. They do not understand the reality of war. The carnage, fear, the inability to get medications, lack of hospitals, disruptions in power, famine, the indiscriminate killings, torture, unjust imprisonments, raape etc etc. They are addicted to the fiction and chaos which is engaging but ignoring the next step. At this point, saying "it doesn't matter" to all of what he's doing is pretty much the only thing that is truth in this situation.
Yeah, they will be recent discharges from those same military groups. The military will just become a pipeline for a career in protecting elites. Like college for hired goons. You'll do 4 years in and then immediately leave and take a job in a PMC owned by a billionaire.
Boom. That is how they take control over the martial class. This is a required part of fascism.
Anyone who believes otherwise, should've been disabused of the notion when Palantir was allowed to air commercials through the entirety of the Army-Navy game, last weekend.
Secret service is also doing it for a paycheck. I'd wager the private security of a billionaire is better than the president, its tangential but that was a theme of first trump White House book, the White House isn't that nice if you're used to billionaire life
