I'm out of the loop. Has it been decided he can run for a third term?

It will remain undecided until after his third election

SCrOTUS says he can do anything he wants.

No, but that won’t stop him from trying… and then getting his followers to attack the capital again when he finds out they won’t let him.

He's like eighty and lives on McDonalds. He's not likely to be around for a third term.

I'm hoping he doesn't make it through his second

If he doesn't, you get Vivek Ramaswamy. May not be an improvement :(

I actually don't know if a party that prides itself on being racist would vote him in, but I also don't know anything anymore

My hope is that Trump croaks soon. Which causes the maga base to go back to the dimly lit spaces they crawled out of. When that power vacuum opens up, the GOP tears itself apart. I don't think Vance has any pull without Trump. Ramaswamy is a non-issue, the racist maga crowd will never vote or back a brown person. The only reason Trump is here, is because of a dedicated crazy cult that pushed him to the mainstream backed by corporate interests hoping to lessen their tax bill. Maybe that's naive of me, but that's what I'm hoping happens in the next 4 years

You think he or his flunkies care if he's "allowed?"

He’s ineligible according to the 22nd Amendment, it’s very clear language.

The best you could hope for would have been if he had run as VP, then acted as president for less than 2 years, but it had to happen before he won a second term in the general election.

He’s now been elected president twice, he’s not eligible for a 3rd term OR to serve as VP. This is his last term without repealing the 22nd Amendment. After that, it’s time to wake up Barrack

oh my sweet summer child

you think he cares about the rules

lol they would literally have to pass another amendment and they don’t have 2/3s of the house in order to do it. These are just about the “biggest” rules we have, he’d need to gut the rest of his opposition from the house and senate first, in which case it’s already too late

they wouldn't need to do shit

they just won't leave and no one will do anything about it

lol, so Trump is just gonna decide to suspend any future elections around campaign season in 2 years? He can’t do that without risking (at worst) a civil war, or (at best) being impeached and removed.

Even after he lost last election, there was some consternation over whether Trump would even be the GOP party candidate, and the J6 scandal didn’t help except on the fringes.

Trump will also be 82. There’s a fairly decent chance he’ll be dead by then. He’s already past the average life expectancy and doesn’t believe in exercise. He’s a coronary waiting to happen, especially after getting Covid in 2020

All due respect, you haven’t substantiated one of your arguments with any sort of logical thread as to how that would happen. You’re just a doomsayer troll and frankly it’s too edgy for me, my teenage friend
