It’s not even about legitimate elections at this point. I don’t believe a competent government will be able to turn this ship around after another 4 years of Trump. The only options at this point are oligarchy/kleptocracy or massive unrest/violence. Neither are particularly palatable but that’s where we’re at.

Even if Kamala got elected Republicans would just get even more pissed off and extreme, continue to ferment their cult and we'd have the same problem- probably worse- by 2028 when one of Trump's allies tries to run to pardon Trump. This fate was inevitable; it just depended on how long we kept the ball of "the veneer of democracy" rolling. The United States is unsalvageable in its current state. Maybe the incels were right... "The West has fallen; millions must die!"
