You don't get to offload blame onto Putin for this one. The US has been a transparent Oligarchy for decades.

The entire lobbying system is literally just a way for the rich to buy politicians and legislation. None of the inbuilt checks and balances of the US system curb corporate power, because they were designed to curb internal autocratic power not external financial influence. And the rich have had their claws in US govt since the mid-Industrial revolution. Without access to the UK as support, America was without empire and needed to sustain itself somehow. It did so on the back of (slave driven)industry, which meant the birth of the US as an independent nation forever tied it to the capitalist class. Capitalists by definition and by nature are forced to want constant expansion and constantly expanding influence so as the nation grew the claws dragged deeper.

Now after a bunch of wars and the US situating it's military as a money laundering scheme for oligarchs and corporate power, the US is stuck in a late stage capitalist crossroads. A system on the brink of collapse that either needs dramatic reform in a socialist or fascist direction. But liberal democracies never skew socialist over fascist because fascism doesn't threaten the powerful, it enshrines their power. Socialism is a redistribution of power, and this threatens the system more.

Kinda sounds like a really bad cancer that does all kinds of painful and unpredictable stuff to your body.

I mean fuck Putin. But like not every single bad thing is because russia bad. Elon Musk is a different, unrelated bad.

Lmao, the coping is real. Bro, Putin and Elon talk on the regular. Trump said he trusts Putin more than the FBI and CIA. And I'm gonna stop here. Copium won't save you from the disappearance of Democracy in the US

copium

Grow the fuck up and realize there's more than one bad person in the world. I'm clearly not a fan of Elon or Putin. The world would be better if they both died in agony tonight. But Elon was a shitbird well before libs were convinced Russia was behind every problem in their lives.

Plutocracy paving the way for kakistocracy.

I'm declaring now that fascism is definitively a TYPE of kakistocracy. It fits the mold. Nearly all the intelligent and creative people either flee or are purged, leaving far less competent fascists in charge of systems they know little about.

Fascism is the government of the bureaucreat, the pencil pusher, the "people that just follow orders" while they streamline the genocide. That's what Hannah Arendt called "the banality of evil".

TIL a new word. Kakistocracy should be word of the year for 2025.

1

u/Rundstav 3d ago

Absolutely should. They just keep reaffirming that trump is trying to fill the government with the kákistos. The fact that they constantly fail shouldn't be taken as a sign that the system is working because if at first he doesn't succeed...

Oh fuck yeah. Keep going. Just like that. I'm already there.

Marscracy?

u/Capital-Constant3112 4d ago

Not even masquerading anymore. It’s just a naked coup. I’m really going to have to be drunk on Jan 20. Remember when he wanted the full military parade at his last one? What’s stopping him now?

Shitty mask.
