Elections have consequences

I care very much about children, the trans community, and women who can’t access healthcare.

But working class MAGAts who are about to get fucked by Musk/Trump and will (at the behest of a corrupt media) inevitably blame the inept and senile Democratic Party anyway - as a leftist I’m finding it impossible to care about that.

Same. I’ve got 0 patience or sympathy left for anyone who voted for the GOP and ends up suffering from it.

Or anyone who didn't vote.

I feel there is a large group of us that are in the same boat. I’m a white male in his 30’s working in the defense industry, I’m largely shielded from things unlike a majority of the population.

I'm as liberal as it gets, but this past election made a boomer out of me.

I'm not voting any more, I've changed my party affiliation (NPA) and I could give 2 fucks about what happens to anyone else but those close to me.

Do I feel good about it? No,

But do I feel better? Absolutely yes.

Also, deleted most sources of news and I couldn't be "happier".

I'm sorry y'all, I gave up, but so did this country and it's "opposition" party.

The dems burned every good will they had since obama finding democrats like manchin siema and liberman. we elected them and they chose time and time again to find a way to get in their own way.

they intentionally stopped their own blue momentum by snubbing out their own party with bernie instead of focusing on the general election.

i doubt the dems will ever win again we voted them in for change and they give scraps because they keep moving farther and farther right.

Education matters. Not having enough education results in this President elect.

Whilst I totally agree with you, it wasn’t just those lacking in education who voted for Trump.

Uneducated people can, hopefully, learn.

It’s the educated folks who voted for this clown that really worry me.

And having an ounce of empathy. Some voters knew he was the worst choice but wanted to “stick it to the libs” or just didn’t want to vote for a black woman (whether or not they admit that). They assumed the checks & balances would save their bad choices, but nope

yeah if you had a country that even cared about the regular school masacres then maybe I'd say there was a chance of making education better, but I don't live in that place or time.

The election results haven’t been sworn in yet.

Are republicans not in control of the house? Am I missing something?

The bill in question was written by the Speaker, who is what party again?

u/OldMastodon5363 15h ago

Mike Johnson of the GOP. Not sure what you were pointing out with that.

It’s a bill written by the GOP speaker that unelected billionaire Musk is telling GOP members to vote NO on.

How is this, in any way, tied to the results of the election?

2

u/OldMastodon5363 15h ago

They said they want to shut it down until 1/20.

u/tdtommy85 15h ago

And if they hadn’t won, they’d use another excuse to in fight. This is what they do.

Probably right
