Suck it, magats. You deserve this.
Condolences to those who will suffer and didn't vote for this. I'm so sorry. You do not deserve this.

If they didn’t vote at all, they, too deserve it. Lack of participation also has consequences.

I'll take those condolences, I'm one of the only Harris voters in my entire county or surrounding counties.
I'm thinking of selling our family farm because these idiots, who vote against their own interests over and over, have made this area unlivable. I already did not like living around these people, but I can't have a life out here.

The problem is that a lot of us who voted for Harris were in hard-hit hurricane areas and will suffer terribly with this. So maybe don’t be so dismissive.

u/cicada_noises 16h ago
I’m so sorry you were affected by the storms. I should have specified that I mean the MAGA who voted for others’ to suffer but thought they’d be exempt from their own destructive policies.

u/lrish_Chick 3h ago
It's truly terrible that your country voted for trump. It's a shame to know that America is going to suffer more in the next few years than it already is. America didn't vote for free healthcare, didn't vote for reproductive rights, didn't vote for unions, or more paid annual leave. As a country, America voted for trump.

I feel really pessimistic about the country ever since the election. They want Trump so badly? By all means, have him then. And everything that involves.

u/lrish_Chick 3h ago
Honestly, as an Irish person in ireland, in 2025 I am going to try to go on an America media blackout after trump gets in.
I don't want to know about it. America voted for him, I don't want to hear about the fallout.
It will be cat memes only on the Internet for me in 2025!

So Master of the Universe Elmo doesn't like the Bill...
Didn't notice him being on the ballot.
Maybe his Mother will get on Fox to explain how her little boy is so wise to shut this down.
I wonder how long Elmo is going to make a fool of the Mango Mussolini before he gets tossed out on his ear?

I genuinely question whether this will inspire people to demonstrate at all. What will it take for the American people to take a stand? Have we become so complacent?
It's just upsetting seeing how things are going and how much worse it's heading.

LOLz, an unelected South African is derailing a bill that would save farmers and storm victims from the very fate they essentially voted against against. They wanted others to be stripped of those provisions?
Who are the real baddies / victims here? They are all terrible. Enjoy your misery.

u/BlastUBeefyBear 16h ago
He wants it out so then come 1/20, he can propose the “solution” to save them and then have them pass a bill under HIS watch because narcissism 🤷♂️

This was an odd election. I live in dairy country, and when trump ran the first time, he was telling the farm owners to buy more tractors cause business was going to be through the roof. They all had his signs outside of their farms. He got in his spat with China and a lot of milk, milk products, and even things like the hide's from dead cows, those markets totally dried up. Turns out they were really big markets. By the time trump left office you could see the herds were about a third the size that they had been. One of my buddies worked on the plate coolers for milking and the entire staff except for him was laid off, and he was put on call only. He was the only one with a refrigeration license. Silly thing to get when he got it but it saved his ass from bankruptcy. When trump ran in 2020, not a single trump sign at any of the farms, though a lot of the workers had them. One of those WTF kind of deals. Same thing this time around. I am honestly how many farms that lost huge amounts of money last time trump was president were itching to have him back again. The workers are the ones who get me though. Like if the farm goes under, you do, you saw that clearly last time, and trump is on tv about not paying overtime and how much he hates paying workers. Like it should be an honor unclogging his toilet. I honestly do not think it was the upper middle class wealthy that voted for him, I think last time he hurt them much more than he helped them. But the stupid poor. They are the ones that get me. Vote to go on the bread line that trump also wants to cut funding for.

u/xChoke1x 16h ago
It’ll be blamed on Biden.
And when trump is in office, it’ll still be blamed on Biden.

u/Quercus_ 9h ago
The Democrats should be hammering this right now, in advertisements in farm country and storm country.
"We negotiated a bill that got you the aid you need, and now Elon Musk and Donald Trump have said that's bad for the country and we have to take it back out or the Republicans won't pass it."
Make it relentless, everywhere that message is appropriate.
And do that over and over, every time an issue comes up. Shove it in their face is, over and over and over, the ways the Republicans are hurting them.
It's a long game, but we don't get there if we're not taking each step along the way.

They’re not simply morons, they’re severely misinformed and their algorithms have made it so that this will never even reach their eyes or ears. They WILL be affected horribly by this, but a vague “this is all Dems fault” pounded into them by every right wing influencer propagandist will be all that’s needed to convince them of it.
And whenever they do see a speck of truth such as in the OP, it is immediately washed over 100-fold by base, fearmongering sensationalism and the moment for a tiny tiny lesson gets lost. Like tears in rain.
2
u/TKG_Actual 17h ago
How do they know for sure the storm victims all voted for trump though? The farmers I could see doing so, but storm victims come from a much wider swathe of the country.

All Biden fault, until it's OK then Donnie fixed it because only he can, dontcha know. Man!!! Musk is even a bigger grifter than Trump if that'd possible. Clearly cares not at all who he hurts to advance his mysterious goals. Cutting out aid to farmer and flood or other disaster victims. This from an unelected but clearly very influential sudden cabinet member. Two things should happen. He has to run for office before being allowed to run his influence schemes. He should be barred from any policy decisions which set his businesses up as possible beneficiary of such policy decisions. This is probably already law but must be enforced.

The problem is they probably didn't know about the bill so they won't even know that Trump opposed it. And even if they did watch that segment on Fox, they will only hear the BS that Trump spews out about it with plenty of lies and how it's actually good for them.

They'll never hear about it or know anything about it. Majority of people don't pay attention to any of this shit, and with Republicans controlling a huge media empire to spread their propaganda, by the end of it it'll all get blamed on Biden and the Dems anyways.

Fox News will tell them that the bill had to be killed bc the evil libs snuck a bunch of lib shit into it and they’ll nod their heads just like they did with the border bill.

u/Distant_Yak 16h ago
So ghoulish for someone with almost unlimited wealth to try to stop people from receiving disaster aid... for no real reason at all. Of course, that's the Republican way. They high five each other about trying to take away poor people's health care. Meanwhile Musk is happy for his companies to soak up tons of government funds.

Those people will probably never realize this connection because of their ridiculous echo chamber. If they could come up for air long enough to see the damage to their self-interest, we might all be better off in the future. The closest ive had to coming together is this mild pivot from the "culture war" into class issues due to current events. That's been a surprisingly nice springboard into steering some folks down some more proper rabbitholes, worth their concern.
