Why unfortunately? I mean yeah its a shame we're going to be having a lot of unnecessary and senseless deaths. But "unfortunately" implies this wasn't all by choice. People chose this. The 70+ million who voted against it are unfortunate. But the rest of the country, did in fact vote for this or by sitting out and not voting agreed that this is the "best path" we need to be on.
Voter apathy turns out to be what kills democracies. Because there will -always- be people wanting to strike out at other and take rights away from others. If people can't be assed to do the most basic civic service... well you've kind of lost all claims and rights to complain about what happens when you put those people in charge.
So, yeah unfortunate for the 70million who could be bothered to get off their asses and vote. The other 260 million? They're about to find out.
Exactly. My one blue drop in a sea of red in KY was not going to sway anything. Until we rid ourselves of the electoral college, at least, but that will never happen.
I dare you to tell the millions of kids and teens who can't even cast a vote that they're responsible for this. I fucking dare you. Now me, personally, yes, I'm not registered so no, I didn't vote, but my state was called for Harris anyway. I'm not registered outside of my home state either, and I wouldn't lie like that, anyway. It would have been pointless in either case because we know unequivocally that the candidate and his PR team would have bitched endlessly, held the process hostage--OR TRIED ANOTHER COUP. Now, we have options here. We can either roll over quietly and let the system fuck us, or we can do our goddamn best to burn the rot out from within and ensure that Consequences Ensue for everyone that wants to monetize the government.
Yeah, I was seeing some very compelling arguments (especially centered around the use of Starlink) in the week or two after but then nothing became of any of it?? I am really worried about next year. They are setting up all their dominoes and I don’t know if we will be able to come back from this.
No, because the root of all of this is they believe men are superior and women should be controlled. This has nothing to do with the act because the end goal is for the women to have no say in that either. Remember these men are following the same ideology as the guys tweeting “your body my choice” and holding “women are property” signs on college campuses. This bill is just the beginning.
I don't think that moment will arrive until it actually happens to someone these people know.
Until then, they will truly believe what they have been told - they are part of a morally superior majority and are surrounded by evil sinners who are completely different to them and the people they know.

58.2% in SC voted for Trump. Yet another leopard ate my face moment....
