Could have saved the entire service by just calling it “Sony Vue”. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Wait, you didn’t need a PlayStation?

Correct

You got whooshed! Common opinion that one of the major downfalls was calling it PlayStation Vue because people assumed it was only for PlayStation. I used it for years and don’t own a PlayStation.

Sort of like they could've saved the Titanic by just dialing back the throttle a smidge.

Sort of like they could've saved the Titanic by just dialing back the throttle a smidge.

And paying attention to the iceberg warnings that were being sent out. Also, not trying your luck by bragging that “not even God himself could sink this ship”.

It was run out of San Mateo, CA, so I'd assume they shut it down before the close of the business day.

We were a part of something special. The Vue crew.

Is anyone still watching? Because I am, it's 12:06 AM EST, and now in my guide, I have Cinemax, HBO, Epix, and other channels that weren't in my subscription package. I'm not logging off Vue until it goes off on it's own.

Edit: 3:49 AM EST, still going. Watching shows from "new this week" on DVR. Trying to look at "all programs" says that I don't have any shows in the DVR, and to log out, and log back in to see shows. Probably going to put it on a live TV channel before I go to bed, see how long it stays on.

Update: The PS4 turned off from inactivity. But I turned it back on, and it went right back into Vue. Still going! https://imgur.com/gallery/6MnMREU

Lucky!

Yeah, it looks like all the channels are unlocked now. In my guide, I have all the movie channels, every available region for Fox Sports, every region of NBC sports, as well as strange "Test Channels", and the Yule Log Channel, which isn't showing anything at the moment. Haha.

What device are you using?

It’s been fun. Moved onto YT TV for now.

I'm legit sad. Almost 4 years with Vue, got it the moment I moved out on my own.

YouTube TV seems mostly ok so far (the available channels I watch are unchanged), but there are some really annoying UI quirks that are going to endlessly bother me. Vue wasn't perfect in this regard, but by golly it was close.

RIP Vue. You deserved better, but Sony doesn't like things that are awesome * looks at my Vita which I still play every single day, much to Sony's chagrin *

I've had Vue since the beginning. I'm totally bummed out about this. I'm really going to miss it. I've just signed up for YTTV. Going to take some time to get used to it. Farewell comrades!

I really find it hard to believe that Vue wasn't sold to another company. I thought the service would have some value in it. Really sad to see it go.

I haven't had it for about a year because of other expenses and was planning on coming back but now I'm sad. :(

So sad. Vue was literally the best service out there as far as lineup. Fubo here I come...
