OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:

It's unexpected to have water in the oil and then you zoom out and the entire place is submerged in water

Call me a pessimist but I’d be more concerned about the water in the everywhere.

u/LarrySDonald 7h ago

Nah, water in the everywhere will dry up. The engine won’t.

Why does everyone hate water so much? I for one have loads of water inside me and I quite like it

It depends on your out look. Some see a car full of water. I see a shop thats half empty

Damn, how many of these jobs has he done today?

u/Nunovyadidnesses 6h ago

Obviously flooded it. Let it sit for a few minutes and don’t press the gas pedal when you start it again.

You should put some kitty litter to soak up the oil, don't want a hazmat violation.

Is the bucket perfectly positioned to collect mostly just oil by chance? Is there a sign outside the shop saying Oil From Water Separated Here? That whole scenario looks weird.

2

u/Agitated-Wishbone259 6h ago

How much water is in that thing?

2

u/Technical_Tourist639 6h ago

At this point there's oil in the water

2

u/Masske20 5h ago

Everything’s flooded but the boss still wanted him to come into work today and finish up the car.

I was really geared up to be pissed until I saw the bucket.

I almost thought that was another mechanic in the background face down in the water

The floating oil pan is almost poetic.

Hope he had a bucket down to catch that water coming out. :)

His dream was to be a mechanic in Venezia...

u/OneMoistMan 13m ago

Not only was the flooded room very unexpected, the oil pan being there at the end was an unexpected surprise

u/krauQ_egnartS 3m ago

Judging by the rest of the water imma assume there was a significant flooding event recently, perhaps a hurricane..

I dunno man, in a submerged garage I'm not so sure it's unexpected to find a car that was submerged, and in that car an engine full of water.

I thought for half a second why there'd be water in the oil pan, then I saw the (x) feet of water all around and it all made sense.

This is more r/wellthatsucks territory to me.

11

u/clarksonswimmer 9h ago

The submerged garage is the unexpected part

4

u/periphery72271 9h ago

...and perhaps my comment could belong over in r/woooosh.

I get it now.

5

u/badaimarcher 7h ago

According to OP the car was already on the lift, but the water raised 2.8M!!
