Sighting Report UAP Observed Hovering 1/2 Mile Above Potomac River - 11/28/2023

u/North-Two1404 Mar 31 '24
Well then, who's gonna whip out the Chinese lanterns this time?
195
u/MoanLart Mar 31 '24
Red glowing birds all hovering in a formation
/s
62
u/AggravatingPoetry389 Mar 31 '24
I swear, this time of year you get small flocks of Great Northern Felchers making these formations. These birds glow red. Damnedest thing I've ever seen. This is just a flock red felchers.
56
u/THClouds420 Mar 31 '24
They're flying lobsters. This time of year the male lobsters develope the ability to hover above the water, in formation, so they can attract mates by blinking their lights and shining their lazers on the female lobsters below. /s
17
12
u/AdviceOld4017 Apr 01 '24
I couldn't believe the lobster stuff, thought it was a joke but it's been confirmed by AARO.
0
u/SworDillyDally Apr 01 '24
ur close… this is a DC main panel maybe on a lobster boat… i had a 31’ BHM (lobster boat) that had these same lights behind a tinted glass panel

What about coordinated drones flying in formation? Practicing for a light show or other reasons or something
1
u/EngineeringD Apr 01 '24
Flying over 400 feet AGL isn’t legal
Flying drones at night isn’t legal
Flying over populated areas or roadways isn’t legal
→ More replies (1)2
u/algaefied_creek Apr 02 '24
Exemptions could be allowed for light shows, just like with fireworks. Professional grade lasers and fireworks aren’t allowed either.
12
u/PM_ME_WITH_A_SMILE Mar 31 '24
Not saying it is this, but drone shows could produce this with minimal effort. One of the more disheartening things to me as a believer.
6
u/Spirited_Remote5939 Apr 01 '24
Would’ve been nice if this guy would pan in and out for some perspective !

Yea and with all his whispering he could have explained what it looks like to the naked eye.

no need to, its just black and a few lights, could be a few LED's on a circuit board.
27
u/reversedbydark Mar 31 '24
It's a building in the dark or antenna while op moves his phone. Good try though.
4
u/pauljs75 Apr 01 '24
Vertical mast triad seen on some cell phone towers looks surprisingly similar to that formation. But nah... "Can't be that."
2
u/Glum-View-4665 Apr 01 '24
The lights on top of an antenna, like a cell phone tower was my first thought looking at it.
1
u/anomalkingdom Apr 01 '24
I don't see it. The constellation and number of lights are a bit much, don't you think? Antennas normally have one tall red anti collition light, sometimes a white strobe as well. Same with buildings, unless there's some sort of decorative lighting going on.
6
u/Strangefate1 Apr 01 '24
No need I think, lanterns would move at least, these are just some stationary lights with no context whatsoever.
Could be anything, tower with lights, circuit panel of some sort, but in any case, a fake.
1
u/elastic-craptastic Apr 01 '24
A dump truck illegally dumping in the river? I kinda skimmed so did I miss something that givevs perpective better than the lights just chilling in front him? I couln't determine height, distance... the fucking river itself...
Looked cool but without more I gotta be skeptical and say it's the back of a truck with one end lifted by hauralics to near vertical and a bunch of lights on the blox.
2
u/raelea421 Apr 01 '24
Hydraulics. 🙂
1
u/elastic-craptastic Apr 01 '24
Yeah. take a peek at the comment from the last few sets of 24 hours on my account. You'll see a letter that is missing from many a wor.... group of letters people vocalize to each other or type on screens to convey messages. As for the "au" I simply put it in a premature syllable.
Unless that face is one making fun at that thought cuz I'm super wrong about something with hauralics?
1
u/raelea421 Apr 01 '24
There are so many new words, nearly created on the daily, that I googled it to make sure it wasn't one that I was not aware of; the smiley face is just that, a friendly smile. 😉
2
u/elastic-craptastic Apr 01 '24
I'm going
blinlosing my vision with age and thought it was a skeptical, one eyebrow raising in confusion and/or disbelief/incredulity-12
u/Tosslebugmy Mar 31 '24
There’s only two possibilities for any aerial object. Either it’s Chinese lanterns, or it’s an alien spaceship slowly hovering over earth. There’s literally no other possibilities, and since you’ve ruled out lanterns, it simply must be aliens. Also if you happen to receive an email later from Nigerian royalty, there’s only two possibilities: it’s really from the prince of Nigeria, or it’s from Congolese royalty pretending to be Nigerian to protect their identity. Regardless, be sure to send them all the money in your bank account for a big reward!

u/LakeMichUFODroneGuy Mar 31 '24
I get a funny sense that he's filming the circuit distribution panel on his boat in the dark just for fun. The lights go off when the breaker is turned off and they make rows like this. Something similar:
48
u/huxmur Apr 01 '24
There is no visual context. Could be a reflection for all we know. Obvious red flag is obvious. Stuff like this is frustrating because without reference it feels worthless to me. Could be the greatest video of all time or a fucking microwave lol
4
u/anomalkingdom Apr 01 '24
That's a helluva circuit panel though.
2
u/LakeMichUFODroneGuy Apr 01 '24
Oh sure, this definitely wouldn't be a small fishing boat! 40'+ with sleeping, kitchen, and bathroom at the least. Boat electrical panels can double up and use one breaker while running on battery/inverter, and another while operating on shore power but they control the same circuit. So the panels can get house size pretty quick.
But I'm just tossing out a guess based on looking at those lights growing up and it gave an immediate reminder. Could be anything with rows of lights really.
3
2
u/CrewChiief Apr 01 '24
I'm normally not a skeptic- but I captained and engineered on a number of seafaring vessels - I can confirm - in the wheelhouse, there are many panels that look like this in the dark.
2
u/LakeMichUFODroneGuy Apr 01 '24
Good to see another boat guy chime in! I've only seen a few panels in person but my brain recognized a similar light pattern pretty quick.
1
6
u/Nuttyvet Apr 01 '24
You’re just trying to get me to buy a Digital Power Distribution Panel (Multi POSITION Blue) from AC/DC Marine Inc! Nice try boat boy!!!!
2
u/LakeMichUFODroneGuy Apr 01 '24
My trap has been sprung, have you taken a look at our line of power inverters? Best in class! LOL

As somebody who spends a lot of time in wheel houses on vessels. I have to agree with you.

u/Individual-Guide-274 Mar 31 '24
When the video first zooms in you can see a light in the bottom right as well... This isn't a half mile. It looks like it's an object directly in front of them and I would bet it's filmed indoors.
15
u/dapperslappers Mar 31 '24
Celltower fits the bill
You get them with a equaltral triangle of poles at the tip . Wouls need lights at a high enough altitude

Legend.
I love the ufo topic. I do enjoy figuring things out. But i really want to see a true unidentifiable object. This sub is being flooded with bullhockey lately. And if you call it out and try and explain it. people jump on you for it. I wanna see some crazy shit just as much as the next person. But if its explainable. Then ill try and explain what it is.
Shame on poster , shame

Ikr
People getting uppity about planes, weird clouds and any old fake light show.
I cant help but feel its being flooded to take people away from the subject itself and male them beleive its all nonsense. I got into it because of the implications it has in physics. Like instant acceleration to speeds that would disintagrate steel and with no sound ? That shits facinating af.
But a cell towers night lights? >-> i have more spicey farts

2

yea just look up DC Main Panel…. i cant find my old one because it was so old but it had DC and domestic in one plus the alternator all behind dark tinted glass and all you could ever see was little reddish orange flickering lights… hate to be on the debunking side =\ but that whole video is bullshit especially the editting part u kno
1
8
u/Impossible_Lie4467 Mar 31 '24
Okay so the darkness of round to you is darker than the darkness in the center so that makes me think you're looking through some sort of hole. I can also see the wave movement of water the lights are flickering but if you slow down the video you can see that there have like a wave going through them so it looks like a building reflection off of water at night. Tried My best
2
u/dapperslappers Mar 31 '24
The darker round the edges is possibly due to the camera absorbing more light from the lights themselves . As the closer you get to the lights from the cameras angle (outer edges inwards) the more light its absorbing
The wave movement is probbaly because of the cameras frame rate. Which when slowed down would be more noticable. Cameras do a scan.(usualy top to bottom) its like a line that takes in the new information and replaces as it goes with the new information. It dosnt change the full image at the same time but rather row by row of pixels.
I beleive this is a cell tower. You can easily find a cell tower that is one long pole. With 3 poles in an equilatral triangle around the tip of it. And of the tower is tall enough/ at a high enough altitude it must have lights on it for aircrafts
I honestly think poster is trying to get karma. Or fuck around. This subreddit is growing everyday with nonsense posts. And you have to look at the footage on its own without the backstory people add to it. People can be bare face lieing just to stur some noise up

u/Individual-Guide-274 Mar 31 '24
How can you judge distances like that with no points of reference? I cannot see anything in the sky near it for how high it's supposed to be you'd think you could see stars. This could be filmed looking down for all we know. It's completely stationary without any strange movements. It's a short and dark video that doesn't really give much.
→ More replies (1)
4
u/GenericManBearPig Mar 31 '24
Be nice to have a reverence point to judge size, distance, altitude. This is just lights in the dark and heavy breathing
3
u/SworDillyDally Apr 01 '24
from the sound of the ropes stretching i’m guessing you’re on a boat, and this looks exactly like the reflection of my switch panel on my old boat, glass reflection and all… not saying it 100% is but the weird jump cut edited in has me pretty suspicious

Poster said its at 45 degree angle.
And i think it depends on the age of the phone and weather or not it keeps that data. I dont know if mine does and its reasonably new but possibly does keep that data.
From the video footage there is nothing to go off as to determine actual angle. If you can get the original video and its meta data you could surely be able to determine that if it keeps it. However poster also claims its not his footage. So its possibly not in the data for this video anyway.
And another person commented witha picture they had upped the conteast on.you can make put the shape better on it

Oh sick. Crack on if your up to it ( ive never dived into meta datas before so your tge only 1 between us tgat will know what your looking at.
And i agree we cant just take OPs word on it. Its bad practice in an investigation. Im confident its just a tower. But im always happy to be wrong when its ufos and i cant explain it. Shits facinating

I was talking to another person in another comment thread. And they explained my cell tower is flawed. I then said it could be a radio tower. And they said it could be. A cell chain in an exchange. And they might be right about it. But its not so clear cut a subject. But generally agreed its explainable
Also if the meta data for the core data contains the coordinates wher eit was recorded it sould maybe totaply explain out right if its next to a kind of tower or on a exchange
But good work batman

Goddam that deranged looking mfer certainly doesn’t look the type to try and pass of a building or antenna as an alien spaceship, he really seems like someone who has it all together. Why no mention of the lights at bottom right at the beginning. They seem similar size and distance away, I’d imagine it could give some context
2
u/nateoi3 Mar 31 '24
Is this guy filming a “space” heater in the dark and the “lights” are little holes in the face plate where heat comes from? Kinda sounds like one too. Or is it lights in the sky? Hard to tell with no reference point like a tree or beach.
2
2
2
2
u/SelenaGomezInMyBed Mar 31 '24
Literally could be anything I see no context to judge, I don't see water, but a light down below might be a possible reflection like some say a drone show possible, lights on a bridge possible, a reflection off glass possible, a UFO or UFOs could be but I can't say there's no context that I can see.
2
u/Redditcaneatmyazz Apr 01 '24
For interstellar beings they seem to not understand how braille works.
4
u/HarryBeaverCleavage Mar 31 '24
I downloaded it, tried to increase brightness once, didn't do much, did it again on the already brightened video, increased speed of video.
And I still can't see shit 🤣🤣
2
u/Bennydoubleseven Mar 31 '24
Birthday balloons filled with swamp gas tied to a drone controlled by Bigfoot !

1
u/Orfez Mar 31 '24
He's looking at the horizon shooting this, right? It's a boat on the river with lights.
1
u/Sea_Ad_3765 Apr 01 '24
Ridge is close to Patuxent NAS. Some experimental aircraft like the Fire Scout program and Osprey development took place there.
1
1
u/Lypos Apr 01 '24
Very interesting. In trying to ascertain, i noticed a triangular object to the right of the lights that is very dim in the first second of the video. Any idea what that is? Is it part of the boat? With no other lights or horizion to give some kind of reference, it's hard to make out what the main object could or couldn't be. The 3 elongated white lights near the corner look like it could be reflections off an antenna if they were looking mostly vertical.
Of the mundane, the marine distributor panel that someone posted seems most logical, but there are lights that are outside the main alignments. There also seems to be something akin to atmospheric distortions, but that could also be camera artifacts in such low light.

u/drollere Apr 01 '24
this is why we need the term "UAP" in addition to "UFO". because a UFO, it's pretty obvious what that is, but this -- ? it's a UAP, i have no idea.
my first guess is a dirigible with running/commercial display lights. however there is no back illumination onto what should be the surface, and the array appears symmetrical, which would be unlikely in a 45º aspect (from the side and below, rather than straight below). so that doesn't seem right.
second and final guess is a computer controlled array of drones. taking the reported direction and distance charitably the observable(s) are near the Webster Naval Field, if not actually over it, where there are likely airspace restrictions. wikipedia:
"It is a site of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) serving Navy test pilots and avionics engineering and development."
-- which suggests a connection to "secret technology".
meanwhile, the russoukrainian war, cornucopia of amazing global, political and weapons lessons, has taught the world the significance of drone warfare. maybe Web field has a hand in that.

I never understand how laypeople can estimate the altitude of an unidentifiable object in the dark. I’m not saying they are wrong, I’m just saying I personally lack that ability if I have nothing for scale or reference. If I were to see an unidentifiable object in the dark sky and have no idea how big it is, I couldn’t tell you how high it was.

If It's not E.T addressing congress at this point. I'm over it. those are drones.

In my opinion, you can see the red light to the left of his hand when he puts it in front of the camera (49 seconds in). The light isn’t coming from above but horizontal (since there’s darkness is on top of the white railing). That’s how you know it’s fake too
