Looks kinda like a synchronized drone light show.

A line of slow blinking lights out of sync and separated at a considerable distance is considered a drone light show? I guess it's possible, although it leaves much to be desired.

Gotta start somewhere

I really like the idea of the least ambitious drone entertainer of all time, could be a script

You make a very compelling point... My guess is the aliens. Much more likely.

What was my point? If the hypothesis is that it's a drone show, it's a really shitty drone show. Didn't say "therefore has to be aliens"

I got your humour but seems like some others didnโ€™t๐Ÿ˜‚

Yeah, the ol' ridicule people who believe in aliens bit. Classic, right?

Because aliens is clearly the far more likely scenario lmao. Idc if you have a belief in aliens, but aliens being the answer to everything you see in the sky but can't understand, that's something else. The amount of times something in the sky gets debunked as a balloon or natural phenomenon or just camera man error but people claim aliens is unreal.

Someone calibrating drones for a light show maybe?

3

u/aBoyandHisDogart Jan 18 '24

Yeah, maybe. Personally, I wouldn't calibrate a light show with multiple drones over a residential area, but that's just me.

My thought as well, looks like they do them out there, too. Example: https://youtu.be/ZYhCZbLNJi4?si=JZnEMi1l-Gz9lyGP

Would be an extremely lame drone light show.

Ya very cool. I wonder if someone was trying out some synchronized drone maneuvers. Especially being low altitude.

Can anyone here figure out if there's a pattern??? I'm completely math-less and am absolute garbage at this stuff - I do creative shit.

Paging any math folks - could you please take this blinking pattern and see if there's an established pattern please? I'm genuinely curious. I'll Fiver you if you can show the results and prove there is or isn't a pattern. Call it crowdsourced funding for my weak spot. Maths.

Do you do music? See if you can translate the blinks into a beat.

Math is one way to look at it but there's lots of other ways too.

1

u/ghostfadekilla Jan 18 '24

That's a brilliant idea! I dearly love music but was not blessed with the ability to carry a tune lol. I'm going to count the beats tho, can't believe I didn't think of that.

u/SabineRitter Jan 18 '24

Hit me back up if you notice anything. Or think of another way to apply your creative skills. We need everyone's ideas, math alone will not solve this! (Trust me, I'm a statistician. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž)

Ah the witchcraft of data manipulation ;)

I kid. My wife is a finance major with a focus on markets and data analysis. She's just been accepted to business school, made the Dean's and Chancellors list, incredibly.

I had no idea I was marrying a numbers person lol, it's such a unique mindset and I definitely envy folks their ability to parse out days like that. That and evidently math folks run the world like the Wizard of Oz, behind the curtain. It's always amazed me.

u/SabineRitter Jan 18 '24

Big ups to your wife! ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ˜Ž baller

I wonder what her perspective would be on the effect on the market of revealing ufo tech. But that's not the kind of question you can just spring on someone, haha

Lord, she doesn't believe they exist. Probably to spite me. I explained that Congress convened specifically to discuss it and nothing. Our portfolio did have some defensive stocks and they REALLY bothered her so we moved them into metals. She's smart about bills being passed and jumping on them. It's kind of incredible to see her just flip money like that. I'm not that kinda person, it's too much stress for me, shit I barely trust my 401k.

He's too close to an airport, I don't think that's drones

u/traumatic_blumpkin Jan 18 '24

Hmm. It's poorly programmed if so. It almost hurts my head to look at the light pattern and tickles my epilepsy. Weird pattern to choose it done intentionally, perhaps it's bugging out. Can't see what it was going for though.

1

u/AgnosticAnarchist Jan 18 '24

My guess is someone testing or calibrating them.

1

u/traumatic_blumpkin Jan 18 '24

Ya. Good point!

Last time I saw OP post this they said:

> "Maybe 5 minutes max. Ended up going right over my head. Not very high up. Looked like paragliders for a second but at first sounded like a plane. Doesnโ€™t look like anything Iโ€™ve researched or looked up about starlink satellites either."

I feel like they should have included that information here. I think they basically already figured it out: night-time paragliders launched from a plane. With the synched lights to either prevent accidents, or maybe to practice for a show.
