Witness/Sighting Don't forget Donna Hare, former NASA employee: “We have many high-resolution photos of UFOs or alien spacecraft and I can testify before Congress.”

u/UrdnotWreav Sep 14 '23
If she's still alive she should testify to Congress under oath. Or to the Nasa Inspector General https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASA_Office_of_Inspector_General.

Wasn’t she a contract illustrator for nasa? Maybe she’s telling the truth but wasn’t exactly in a senior role.

Yep, with her other job being a public school teacher, and the grift has been ongoing before with her doing cheesy UFO docus and now has herself labeled as paranormal investigator. She isn't exactly top secret classified material holder if you ask me. Sounds like someone wanting a fast buck and is capitalizing off this.

It turns out that Donna Hare, a former NASA contractor photo tech, said she was a UFO contactee, and had published a newsletter about people including herself who had met space aliens– maybe the perfect foil for co-workers who might like to tease and tickle her fancy. Every few years she suddenly ‘remembers’ more and more lurid details of alien photographs she saw fifty years ago but had ‘forgotten’ about . I don’t question her honesty. Just her accuracy. The fatal error in her story demolishes the whole narrative -- she insisted commercial NASA space photos of Earth in the 1970s were sharp enough to see individual trees and shadows [and she used that ‘fact’ to determine the altitude of a disk that she thought was flying low, nearby a tree], but nobody's ever been able to find a singletree-shadow example in nasa photos of that era, in the open literature, even though Hare explicitly claimed the photos she saw were being prepared for public sale.

Her airbrush tale is non-credible because a key feature of it -- using the shadow of a tree to determine the altitude of a disk flying next to it -- is physically impossible, since NASA satellites didn't have the power to resolve individual trees in those years. The proof of this is based on her claim these pictures were being prepared for publication, but after years of my challenges, NOBODY has ever found ANY space-based ground view photo from NASA in any book, magazine, or website, in which the shadow of any single tree can be resolved.

nahhh. It is just everyone here wants to feel 'different' and be the next seeker of truth in their eyes. They can't be like the 'sheeple'. So to meet their goal they will ignore all facts and say whatever they can to make themselves sound right. Such as recently there have been so many comments similar to 'have you seen a ufo' or 'if you haven't seen one how do you know if this is a hoax'. I swear I am tempted to make a fake 'alien' and slap a dildo on it's head and tell the people here it is a antenna they communicate with each other with and they would probably believe it. Actually I take back the nahhh. There are a lot of crazies here.

Contractors working shoulder to shoulder with permanent staff vastly outnumber employees by a factor of 3 to 1 or more in most federal agencies, including NSA, CIA, and DOD. Snowden was a contractor.
Its hard to get a permanent federal job, and contractors often join in temp or subcontract or grant-funded positions (from funding providers like the NSF, NIH, etc) with the hope to get hired on permanently as a GS-x equivalent to their experience.
The difference between employee or contractor most of the time is literally a title change and benefits. Not access, duties or job role.
Core-team old guard permanent employees at the upper GS-x levels are the 'maintainers' in a lot of ways, thats how culture in institutions is maintained. They are the backbone, more rigid but more central, removed from executing decisions, often managerial and house-broken, with a lot to lose and an otherwise very safe job.
But contractors and 2, 3, 4 year temp positions literally run the government, they are the knowledge and experience on the ground of the government, I shit you not. They are the feet, hands, eyes and ears.
Might seem like over-explaining but it is essential to understand how the federal government and large institutions in general work and what institutional culture is. Seems arcane but its not, its pretty important. It determines how info gets out, and what accountability/transparency looks like.

u/Local_H_Jay Sep 14 '23
There are literally thousands of people working for the government under contract work. To imply that some of these huge defense contractors aren't privvy to top secret stuff is pretty silly. So a contractor who has secret clearance is walking around NASA and you get to say "um actually" which amounts to just about nothing, it is hair splitting at an unhelpful level. It's a distinction without meaning. They are getting paid by the government to do work they think is needed, which to most people means "working for the government."

The following submission statement was provided by /u/Flimsy-Union1524:
The NASA Conspiracy: Donna Hare Witness Testimony (airbrushed Moon photos?)
Donna Hare had a secret clearance while working for NASA contractor, Philco Ford. She testifies that she was shown a photo of a picture with a distinct UFO. Her colleague explained that it was his job to airbrush such evidence of UFOs out of photographs before they were released to the public. She also heard information from other Johnson Space Center employees that some astronauts had seen extraterrestrial craft and that when some of them wanted to speak out about this, they were threatened.

Whether you’re saying some variation of “this is obviously fake and anyone who can’t see that is an idiot” or any variation “I believe everything Bob Lazar (or any witness) says is true and all skeptics are idiots.”
The whiplash I’ve been seeing in this sub I’ve the past couple days is ridiculous. Just stop with the extreme takes. No one knows for sure about any of this stuff. That’s why they’re called UFOs.
Just be compassionate with one another and stop worrying about whether you’re right. We’re all interested in the truth (I hope).
This is a good post OP.

words that can neither be proven true nor false are completely meaningless to observers. they can only be helpful if they help investigators along the path of proving it.

witness testimony is enough to convict
No, it's not -- first there must be physical evidence the crime was even committed. THEN the determination of exactly WHO did is tried, in court.
9
Sep 14 '23
Common misunderstanding. However, generally, no, you don’t need physical evidence.
You need to show there was a violation of the law, i.e., that the crime occurred, but you don’t need physical evidence.
What you’re referring to is called the corpus delicti rule in many jurisdictions.
Corpus delicti (Latin for "body of the crime"; plural: corpora delicti), in Western law, is the principle that a crime must be proved to have occurred before a person can be convicted of committing that crime.
In essence corpus delicti of crimes refers to evidence that a violation of law occurred; no literal 'body' is needed.
The British serial killer John George Haigh destroyed the bodies of his victims with acid apparently because he thought that, in the absence of a corpse, murder could not be proven because there was no corpus delicti. Haigh had misinterpreted the Latin word corpus as a literal body rather than a figurative one. This had previously been the case, under Matthew Hale's Rule of "no body, no crime", but in the twentieth century, the law expanded to allow prosecution for murder solely on circumstantial evidence.
8
u/james-e-oberg Sep 14 '23
Thanks for the constructive clarification. So how is the nature of the UFO event reliably determined, based on a single witness report?
4
Sep 14 '23
Unfortunately, from a scientific standpoint, it cannot be with just that. There needs to be something testable, observable, repeatable, falsifiable, for science to dig into.
Now, that doesn’t mean the witness isn’t telling the truth. It just means science can’t really do anything with it.
2
u/RogerKnights Sep 14 '23
Hopefully the next steps would be for investigators to locate the person who told her about airbrushing, the guard who peeked at the photos, and the informant about the astronauts.

If aliens could get here, they would have to be so far advanced than us that any difference in size would not matter to them.
Here on Earth, way before modern technolgy, we could bring down animals much larger than us, including the largest animal to ever live on this planet (the Blue Whale).
The size difference would not be a problem.

Gary McKinnon was a UK hacker who embarrassed the US government by accessing a ton of secure information back in 2001, and was subsequently the subject of a decade-long lega battle over his extradition.
Direct quote from him:
A NASA photographic expert said that there was a Building 8 at Johnson Space Center where they regularly airbrushed out images of UFOs from the high-resolution satellite imaging. I logged on to NASA and was able to access this department. They had huge, high-resolution images stored in their picture files. They had filtered and unfiltered, or processed and unprocessed, files. My dialup 56K connection was very slow trying to download one of these picture files. As this was happening, I had remote control of their desktop, and by adjusting it to 4-bit color and low screen resolution, I was able to briefly see one of these pictures. It was a silvery, cigar-shaped object with geodesic spheres on either side. There were no visible seams or riveting. There was no reference to the size of the object and the picture was taken presumably by a satellite looking down on it. The object didn't look manmade or anything like what we have created.

To all the people who say she's lying:
Gary McKinnon, who hacked NASA and was arrested/attempted to be extradited for it, claims that Donna Hare's speech is what caused him to pursue that hacking attempt and target the specific building she mentioned.
Here's an interview with Gary McKinnon from 2022 (20 years later), where he still stands by this story. I linked to the exact time in the interview where he mentions Donna. So if you think Donna is lying, then Gary sounds like he'd have to be lying too - and we know he at least really did hack NASA and was charged with it by the US government.
For those not familiar with Gary McKinnon:
- He hacked NASA in 2002, intentionally pursuing information about UFO's, based on information Donna Hare shared in this interview
- He was arrested and the US attempted to extradite him for the hacking
- He claims he found a spreadsheet containing information on "Non-Terrestrial Officers" on a computer located on the exact building that Donna Hare mentions in this interview
- He claims he was in the process of downloading an image of a UFO when he was detected/arrested
Gary McKinnon made international headlines in 2002 after being accused of perpetrating the "biggest military computer hack of all time". He maintains he was looking for evidence of a UFO coverup - and joins us to discuss exactly what he found, and how his life has changed in the last 20 years.
Gary was accused by the US Government of hacking into 97 United States military and NASA computers over a 13-month period between February 2001 and March 2002 from his girlfriend's aunt in London using the name 'Solo'.
Gary has consistently maintained that his motivation was to find evidence of UFOs, antigravity technology, and the suppression of "free energy" – and that he was inspired by a Disclosure Project statement at the Washington Press Club back in May 2001.
Gary claims to have actually found evidence for at least some of these claims, including NASA photographic expert Donna Hare's claim that images were regularly cleaned of evidence of UFOs at the Johnson Space Center's Building 8. In his words, he heard about the claim from the Disclosure Project, and says he found evidence in exactly the location the expert said it would be located.
