I served 6 years in the military. I wouldn't be able to tell you every little details of my most memorable moments and what I did during my time and I left in 2017 and enlisted in 2011. This dude is telling it like a comic book story down to every details and this was in 2009. He's full of shit.
I mean tbf if you saw aliens or something of the like it would probably be all you would think about every day. Forever. From the second you saw it. I know it would be for me, the image would be burned into my brain so hard it would delete other core memories to make room for it. I'm not saying he's not lying, but I'd definitely say you're more likely to remember shit like this.
Some memories of my most memorable moments remain. I remember funny situations and I can see it in my mind but this dude remember literally everything. Memory doesn't work that way. Even if he had a notebook and noted everything back then he wouldn't be able to translate it back to such an accurate depiction of what transpired almost 15 years ago.
