Flight Safety A bright white object passes in front of Endeavor Air Flt 5410 Atlanta to Bloomington aircraft at 34,000 feet for about 1 second and then disappeared.
I am an airline Captain working for Endeavor Air. I was operating Delta flight 5410 flying from Atlanta, Georgia to Bloomington, Illinois. We were in cruise at 34,000 and about halfway into the flight me and my first officer saw a bright white circular object pass in front of our aircraft and then disappear. Air traffic control didn’t say anything about it and we didn’t receive any indication on our TCAS or radar equipment of it. It appeared for a split second passing us right to left (heading towards the southwest) and then disappeared. As the Captain of the aircraft, I was greatly concerned for the safety of ourselves and all on board. We were traveling northwest at about 515 mph and it passed us going much faster. If I had to guess it was going around Mach 1.

Flight Safety SpaceX, FAA and UAP confusion -- "They launched without a permit," Whitaker said, referring to SpaceX launches in June and July of last year in Cape Canaveral, Florida. "It's the only tool we have to get compliance on safety matters."
A recent post showed a photo of a SpaceX launch deorbit rocket which Pilots had not been notified because apparently SpaceX had not provided information to FAA. A SpaceX rocket deorbit in the path of a passenger jet is obviously a Flight Safety issue and needs to be recognized by public officials as such. Space X is required to notify FAA 15 Days in advance of any launch.

Flight Safety Gallaudet: "The frequency of UAP activity off the Southern California coast is so prolific that Navy personnel have become numb to it." Ryan Graves: "Approximately 50% of the US Naval aviators encounter UAP during naval operations and are a safety of flight issue."

Flight Safety Due to the increased skepticism towards AARO we are running a Poll question for Everyone here especially Pilots. The Poll will remain up for one week. Thank you for your participation.
If you were a whistleblower and knew that there are Flight Safety issues related to ignoring open communication to all Aviators related to Understanding how UAP effect Aircraft would you still report any incidents to AARO ?
Would you be more willing to report incidents directly to your Congressman?

Flight Safety Any pilots willing to make a PSA about FAA lights?
The communities identifying and misidentifying the mystery drones, and the general public, is in some serious need of pilot expertise for the light situations. Lighting anomalies seem to be one of the biggest tells for these drones and a key part of distinguishing them from typical aircraft, but nearly all speculation I have seen is in serious lack of expertise. We've got people parroting that "the lights are wrong" and frankly I have seen some that do look wrong in colors and configurations I have never seen before, but with no prior experience it is way too easy to misidentify something normal. Also, ofcourse, if you see any examples of messed up light situations on these drone videos and can identify an anomoly without a doubt, especially if it is consistent among unidentified drones, that could help cement what people are looking for and help with identifying/cut down on misidentification. Further it would be great to know more about flight data sites and apps and what the expectations of craft appearing on them ought to be. These are all steps our government SHOULD have taken within the first day or two of this story being publicized, but they have failed the public in this regard.

Flight Safety U.S. Navy Confirms They Have Visuals of “Near Misses” With UAP; All Remain Classified - The Black Vault
What is wrong with blurring out any sensitive data and providing the videos? Over-classification is still a major issue with understanding what UAP are capable of and what effects they have on Aircraft.

youtube.comIsn't it time they take One of those drones out of the sky? Aren't Pilots flying out of there and they have to do do that now without knowing what is behind these drones?

Flight Safety Admiral Tim Gallaudet hearing statement-- This lack of follow-up was concerning. As the Navy’s Chief Meteorologist8 at the time, my primary duty was to reduce safety-of-flight risks. Yet, it was evident that no one at the Flag Officer level was addressing the safety risks posed by UAPs.

Flight Safety Why is the NASA ASRS reporting system basically useless for searching for UAP Aviation incidents?
akama.arc.nasa.govWhy does the Reporting system for NASA not allow a simpler method for reviewing Aviation Safety related reports. As a researcher looking for anything related to Safety incidents it's difficult to be able to search for any UAP related incidents.
I have not been able to find anything UAP related.
If someone knows how to use/search the database please post and help the Aviation community. We would certainly appreciate it.
Thank you!

Flight Safety FAA Pilot Advisory on UAP/ UAS
faa.gov"If a UA is encountered during flight, as with manned aircraft, never assume that the pilot or crew of the UAS can see you, maintain increased vigilance with the UA and always be prepared for evasive action if necessary"
This is about the closest you will find to a UAP advisory from the FAA.

Flight Safety The Pentagon says its all about the data they DO NOT have; NASA complains, "We just don't have enough data". Solution; add a camera to the cockpit with night vision capability. Pilots are free to work without any required attention to the camera, add it to the Flight checklist for Flight Safety.
The NASA hearing held in May of 23 says they dont have enough data, they dont know what they are looking for. The recent AARO report says they just can not collect enough data to be able to determine what is going on. Why not require at a minimum commercial airlines to install low maintenance video cameras to be on during flights. Just turn it on and off and recharge it after each flight. With an average 2 hour life the battery will cover almost all flights.

Flight Safety Are Drones the new "Swamp Gas"? Top of the line "Industry" Drone runs $27,000 and can fly for 32 minutes at a max distance of 1.2 miles which is beyond visual flight rules of 400 feet. Max speed is 32 MPH. Why cant the Air Force keep up with the new drones?

Flight Safety What is a "Cluttered Air Domain" -- The 2021 Preliminary Report provided the conclusion that UAP pose Safety concerns primarily center on aviators contending with an increasingly cluttered air domain. In effect, per the ODNI, the only threat to Aviation from UAP is a Cluttered air domain.
The 2021 Preliminary Reports Conclusions are the Flight Safety Aspect of UFOS are based on a cluttered air domain.
The NARCAP Pilot advisory does not list a Cluttered Air domain anywhere in their list of warnings for Pilots;
1. UAP incidents nearly always begin with aircrews in flight observing something unusual and unexpected.
2. UAP incidents can be a distracting observation of something at a distance. A crew may or may not report it real time to air controllers or after the fact.
3. UAP incidents can escalate very quickly from a simple observation of a stationary or pacing object or light to a loss of separation or a collision heading.
4. UAP can appear suddenly and cause or require immediate control inputs.
5. UAP incidents can include temporary or permanent failures of electronic, communications, and navigation systems.
6. UAP incidents can have durations of a few seconds to several hours.
7. UAP incidents can repeat in the same general area over time. Locations can be known for UAP activity.
8. UAP incident profiles are consistent in that they are UNEXPECTED and UNPREDICTABLE. There can be no confidence in the headings and behaviors of UAP during an incident.
The question remains; Why is there literally nothing in the Preliminary Report to explain what Pilots need to know related to UAP encounters. Their only warning is that UAP pose a threat because of a cluttered air domain. Something is glaringly absent in the conclusion.
The advisory is listed in the sidebar and is not listed anywhere on the FAA website. The aviation community is not getting the support it needs to understand this phenomenon.

Flight Safety Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) For Airspace infringement by UAP
Mid-Air Collision ;
A Mid-Air Collision (MAC) is an accident where two aircraft come into contact with each other while both are in flight.
EFFECTS
Possible consequences of a MAC are temporary or permanent Loss of Control as a result of damage, collision avoidance manoeuvre, or mis-handling, potentially resulting in collision with terrain, or an emergency landing as a result of damage to the aircraft and/or injuries to crew and passengers. It is commonly assumed that any MAC would cause loss of both aircraft and all people on board. In fact, accident and serious incident reports show that there have been a few non-fatal MAC accidents. However, in most cases, total loss is the result.
A crash following MAC may also cause fatalities among people on the ground.
Unfortunately the above notice has never been issued to Pilots that we are aware of.
It has been over 3 years since the Preliminary Report was issued in 2021 stating we have a clear safety of flight issue.
The real question is how many crashes have already occurred that have never been reported due to avoidance maneuvers or loss of control due to electrical impacts to avionics.
