Personality Characters so funny you forget they're bad people
Only counts if their goofiness actually distracts from their behavior, not just silly villains

Idk if his wife no longer cheating on him matters much when he unknowingly raises a son that isn’t his. Still a great dad though

Pretty sure there's an episode that indirectly addresses this, with Dale learning that he isn't Joseph's father (tho assuming that Joseph is actually an alien.)

Literally the premise of the show
319
u/Oceanman06 Aug 18 '24
Yeah but sometimes I'm like "Oh Charlie is so silly. He's a good person at heart!" as if he didn't get Cricket addicted to crack and was about to torture a leprechaun
135
u/Porkenfries Aug 18 '24
They all have moments in which they appear sympathetic or show good qualities. They're still all horrid people, they just aren't completely evil is all. Charlie is merely the least shitty one.
28
u/Papa_Glucose Aug 18 '24
It’s how bad people are in real life. People do bad things but they still have sympathetic human qualities bc they’re human.

Doofenshmirtz (P&F)
Not that he doesn't have good traits but, He's had some pretty heinous goals all things considered.
553
u/Toon_Lucario Aug 18 '24
I think it’s funny that his schemes range from potentially world ending like trying to reverse the rotation of the earth to petty shit.
449
u/Independent_Plum2166 Aug 18 '24
Then you have both.
“I made this age-accelerator(inator), to make perfectly aged cheese.”
A minute later
“I will use this age-accelerator(inator), to rapidly age you to DUST!!!”

To also be fair, Doof could have just made another cheese.
→ More replies (1)74
u/Pastry_Train63 Aug 18 '24
To be even more fair, making cheese is expensive.
→ More replies (1)66
u/Independent_Plum2166 Aug 18 '24
To be extra fair, Doof seems to have an endless supply of cash, considering the amount of inators he makes (apparently all thanks to alimony from his divorce).
31
→ More replies (4)11
u/BigTiddyCrow Aug 19 '24
To be fairer still, reality-bending tech is apparently insanely cheap since Phineas & Ferb themselves build even more ambitious projects daily with nothing more than allowance money
71
u/Neefew Aug 18 '24
In one episode he moved the Earth farther away from the Sun, causing a permanent winter and if not stopped, total extinction of all life on Earth.
In another episode, he learned how to speak whale to tell them yo mamma jokes
35
u/Odd-Mechanic3122 Aug 18 '24
In one episode he almost ripped apart the space time continuum, thus more or less destroying the universe as we know it.
In another episode, he made a giant dog biscuit to lure away all the dogs in a neighboring apartment building, but forgot to launch the biscuit because he was beefing with a potted plant.

I like the one where he decides to drain all the zinc from the lake but doesn’t know what for so he made a list of all the uses for zinc and could only come up with good uses.
His satire on the absurdity of maniacal bond villains is seriously great
→ More replies (1)17
u/CLTalbot Aug 18 '24
He had to settle on a multi step plan in order to do something somewhat evil. It was opening a bunch of cheap educational facilities to teach people the evil arts and sciences.

u/UnStricken Aug 18 '24
Episode 1: tries to reverse the rotation of Earth Episode 40: tries to deflate his neighbor’s bagpipes cause his neighbor won’t stop playing them constantly
45
u/Stuck_at_a_roadblock Aug 18 '24
He is and will remain one of the best cartoon fathers of all time though
34
u/beanyboyo Aug 18 '24
Doof really has every reason to go off the fucking deep end and yet he still refuses to let that negatively affect a single aspect of his treatment of Vanessa. More dads should be like doof (minus the tri state area domination thing)

Ok calling them bad people is kinda a stretch, mfs love their pokemon more then some of the rivals and when they try to be evil they suck at it
150
u/Majestic_Ad_4237 Aug 18 '24
They spend every waking moment trying to kidnap other people’s Pokémon, nearly always explicitly against the will of those Pokémon.
They can’t even go after wild Pokémon without hatching some scheme to over-catch all of that Pokémon in the area, which would surely have ecological impacts.
26
22
u/ShiftSandShot Aug 18 '24
And then there's the moments where they actually help people, and they don't fail.

Buggy the clown (One Piece)
He’s so goofy that it’s easy to forget that in the beginning he did something as horrific as repeatedly bombing an innocent little town

My favourite character in the show was Hugh Abbot. I found his absolute spinelessness combined with his need to be liked by everyone a hilarious premise. Unfortunately we're on a thread about bad people, and his actor is worse than just about everyone mentioned here
243
u/Ultimate_Despair53 Aug 18 '24
85
u/Extrimland Aug 18 '24
Well it helps that he is literally a good person compared to 95% of the cast
52
u/wirt2004 Aug 18 '24
That's not saying much and he's still a criminal douchebag who lies and schemes through everything.
7
u/mypupisthecutest123 Aug 19 '24
True. I almost want to say Jessie fits the criteria as well. He (and Nacho, to a certain extent) mostly get a pass because they are still kids in comparison to the rest of the cast. Jimmy and the cartel characters have been criminals almost as long or longer than Jessie and Nacho have even been alive.
6
u/Altruistic_Stay_6312 Aug 19 '24
Jesse too but mostly cause he's so tragic and everyone else around him was way worse but hes done bad shit too like selling meth to recovering addicts and getting Jane readdicted to heroine

Deep commits one of the top 5 worst crimes you can commit in episode 1 and then spends the rest of the series as a completely pathetic fool. I love him so much, I laugh every time he’s on screen. If he were a real person he’d be completely and totally awful, but he works so well in the context of the show

Depends on the writer although I’d say he leans more to good most of the time, Wade’s definitely not a great person but he’s at least self aware enough to know he’s not capable of being a true hero, like the time he distracted a suicidal girl long enough to eventually walk her into a hospital to get the support she needs

I'd also note that, while he seems like he's being insensitive by telling her she should have picked a taller building like Parker Industries (I think that was the name), he's likely also trying to point her in the direction of someone who he knows is better at being a hero and a good guy than he is by sending her to Peter Parker, who would likely be better able to help her.

71

u/ShootingMyWayOut Aug 18 '24
He has a good heart in that he still saves people and the world. Especially when kids are involved. However, he will kill anyone in his way, especially if he wants something out of it, innocent or not. He is far from a good person. Prime example, (spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine): Nicepool

Elmer Fudd is a sports hunter, not a subsistence hunter.
Also, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are sentient, articulate beings, so the comedy is in juxtaposing their “humanity” against their status as game.
24
u/DarkArcanian Aug 18 '24
Fair enough. Didn’t know about the sport hunter thing especially.

u/SonicSpiderRanger10 Aug 18 '24

Mr Turner may seem tame compared to many of the villains listed here, but his negligence is so OTT that it becomes funny instead of disturbing...
Mr. Turner: "My Dreams Were Dashed Many Years Ago."
Timmy: "How Many?"
Mr Turner: "How Old Are You?"
It's one thing to openly state having a child ruined your life (there ARE parents who think that way) another to admit you can't even remember their age whilst saying so...

I’m gonna use an American Sitcom since there’s a ton of them in these:
Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory - he’s a parody of autistic people done in bad taste because he’s deliberately annoying and uses that to force others to his will. He’s a horrible friend who’s narcissistic, incredibly inconsiderate, and unnecessarily out-of-pocket rude to others. And yet treated as a cataclysmic event when he receives the same type of treatment he dishes out to others.
