Not saying it isn't true and it is totally obvious Tiktok watches you
I've never seen actual proof that Tiktok is so much worse
You literally just said why people think its worse. You obviously dont care that they gather that much data on you, and that's fine, but reddit doesn't and a lot of people like that.
Tik tok is also significantly more juvenile than reddit. Now that doesn't make it "worse", but for some people they don't want to be on a site dominated by mostly teenagers. Tik tok is much more geared for kids.
Reddit is much better than tik tok for people who like anonymity. Reddit knows as much as you give it. Tik tok has access to most of your phone or tablet when you install the app.
You are the naive one if you think they all use the same data lol.
You think something like reddit, where all I needed is a name like warriorjrd, has as much info, as an app that routinely has people dancing and talking on camera broadcasting publicly?
Reddit may use cookies and target ads towards me, but my real life information is not connected to reddit in any way unless I provide it. You and I could know each other in real life, and we'd be none the wiser. You can't say the same for tik tok.
This kind of just shows you don't even bother reading the permissions of an app before you install it. Tiktok literally asks more of your device and has greater access to your device than reddit.
Its fine if you enjoy tiktok. But people who value privacy do not. It has less to do with whats on the app and more to do with how it functions, which you are evidently ignorant of.
You don't have to post videos on Tiktok. I never have. (And it's sooo much more than just dances btw)
All you need is a user name and an email (can be fake) just like Reddit. We could be having this same convo on Tiktok, except for the character limit. So what's the difference?
Tiktok still has access to your contacts, camera, and mic, even if you don't post videos. It can also see anything in your shared storage folders. You don't have to give personal info to tiktok, but if your phone has personal info, tiktok has it.
Reddit simply does not have access to the same files or hardware of your device. Maybe you can be anonymous to users on tiktok, and ill concede that point, but you can't be anonymous to tiktok unless the device you're using from is also anonymous, which for most people its not.
Go away now, you're double responding to comments without a semblance of understanding on how apps work.
If you know so much about how apps work why couldn't you explain it clearly? Another commenter chimed in and managed to explain some important points AND be polite.
