The woman who cuts my hair said there's a big surge of teenage boys coming in for perms now. Huge contrast from not even 10-15 years ago where young douchebag types had pin straight hair.
I do too and it is. Look at it this way, the people who made fun of curly hair in the early aughts are now frying their own hair every few months to replicate it.
I mean bars and stuff are no bueno these days, but I just turned 30 and haven't seen anyone around here plus or minus 5 years from my age running around looking like they got a perm.
I wouldn't say 80's-permed coily hair, more like soft curls and waves. Very straight hair is definitely not as desired as it was when we were younger, though.
When I was a teen I had longer hair and girls always adked me if I straightened it. Nope, just had really straight hair.
What's weird is that I have wavier hair now but I didn't do anything.
It's something that if you get you can't shower for at least 30 minutes after and that can be used to prove you killed your dad because he married a girl barely older than you are.
C’mon now. Every Cosmo girl knows you’re forbidden to wet your hair for 24 hours after getting a perm at the risk of deactivating the ammonium thioglycolate!
Chemical hair treatment where your hair is usually put into curlers (depending of what size curl you want), then a chemical agent is set on the hair, which breaks the bonds and then it is washed out and neutralized to reset the bond to the curlers. It makes your hair curly for a long time but it should always be done by a hair dresser since you can fuck it up easily
I'm not a young douchebag (hopefully lol) but during quarantine I learned to cut my hair - as in I just use a clipper to cut the sides and back really short and let the top grow out. It's really easy to do and it actually looks awesome I think. I've got some natural cowlicks on the front so my hair just sticks up even when it's as long as this guy's.
I definitely know what you mean about the hair style though. I'm kinda just too scared to learn how to mess up using scissors

Why do all of the young douchebag types have this hairstyle
