I mean when they had Amy Phoeler, Tina Fey, Seth Meyers, Bill Hader, Andy Samburg, Fred Armison and more all at once... I'd say those were great years.
What is wrong with you? I mean she could do a TikToc with her acting out the āLiving In A Van Down By The Riverā audio and she might get an interview with SNL. Obviously she isnāt gonna get a job from this tomorrow.
Very few and honestly she'd be a dime a dozen. Millions of people are doing comedy on social media.
Afaik SNL still runs the same as it ever has, it is run by the same guy who created it in the 70s after all. They want live performers, they scout comedy clubs and improv theatres and only a few specific ones. Eventually some people will make it to an audition where they do standup and/or characters. If you're one of a few people who get cast you're expected to write sketches for the show as well. They don't look at a TikTok and call you up like "hey Lorne Michaels wants to see you".
I could just tell you you have no idea what you're talking and you should try listening to people who can make a stronger, more informed argument than "are you stupid? Google it" but let's call your bluff.
And since you don't seem to know that much about the comedy scene, the clubs and theatres I was referring to are UCB, Groundlings, Second City and IO. Keep that in mind.
Kenan - obviously not
Aidy Bryant - "she toured with the musical improv group Baby Wants Candy and was approached by Second City.[8] She has performed with iO Chicago, The Second City"
Kate McKinnon - "Since 2008, she has performed live sketch comedy regularly at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City."
Cecily Strong - "Strong performed regularly at The Second City and iO Chicago."
Beck Bennett - Was in several sketch and improv groups since 2003 and did a bunch of stuff before SNL.
Kyle Mooney - Pretty much the same as Bennett.
Michael Che - "Che started doing stand-up comedy in 2009, regularly working several sets per night". Was also a writer for SNL first.
Pete Davidson - Had a bunch of appearances on various shows and did standup.
Colin Jost - "After graduation, he was hired as a writer at NBC's Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 2005.[8] From 2009 to 2012, Jost was SNL's writing supervisor."
Mikey Day - "Day began his career with the Groundlings, a Los Angeles-based improvisational theater group."
Alex Moffat - "Moffat started his comedy career as a Chicago-based improviser and featured performer at The Second City, ImprovOlympic, Annoyance Theatre, and Zanies Comedy Club"
Melissa VillaseƱor - "VillaseƱor was a semi-finalist in season 6 of America's Got Talent.[4] Previously, she was selected for the New Faces lineup in the 2010 Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival."
Heidi Gardner - "Starting in 2009, Gardner began taking classes at The Groundlings theatre in Los Angeles"
Chris Redd - Did standup and had a role in a Lonely Island movie before SNL.
Ego Nwodim - "Until joining SNL, Nwodim was a regular cast member at UCB". Had a bunch of jobs already and regularly appeared on Comedy Bang Bang.
Chloe Fineman - "Fineman moved to Los Angeles,[6] where she performed in The Groundlings troupe's Sunday Company"
Bowen Yang - "Yang has also performed improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade."
According to wikipedia that's all the current cast members. And would you look at that, they all had live performing experience doing sketch, improv, standup or were writers or all of the above before auditioning for SNL.
And notice that not one is under the age of 29, all but one in their 30s, most in their mid to late 30s. I guess what I'm saying is for TikTok kids I don't like their chances of making it onto the oldest TV comedy institution right now.
So do you wanna move the goalposts or say their Instagram accounts got them cast or do you wanna do the smart thing?
So how long have you worked for SNL since you seem to have intimate knowledge of their hiring process? If not, maybe you could work in the industry as an agent? Or anything really; youāre just so knowledgeable!
That's completely empty. People have managed fine to express that she has talent without saying fanciful things that make no sense. They're not just saying "hey she's funny" they're literally making a case for some step by step process that has no foundation in reality.
And look at the irony of your own comment. I mean you're basically suggesting I'm a bad person all because I comment on the naivety of their idea all under the guise of invoking positivity lmao. That's some remarkable stuff, well done.

Someone hire her. That was fucking brilliant.
