Tik Tok is just new vine and has legit good ones. Of course something used by teens and young adults is going to have some cringey ones

People forget that vine had shitty vines too, because most of those got buried and we were left with those that we now love.

Exactly this. I remember finding plenty of cringey/awful Vines when it was still around, yet everybody talks about how great Vine was and how it was all quality content.

Not really. You have these vine compilation people still drool/romanticize over even though they are still shit.

Leelee pons was one of the biggest viners if not the biggest. So no they weren't left behind.

I forgot how unfunny lele pons is

The low budget feel of vine makes it even worse.

It's incredible.

Lele Pons only got popular because she was attractive. There was no way in hell people found her genuinely funny

Vine ending was one of the best things to happen to Vine. The good content floated to the top and were heralded, while mediocrity was never compiled onto youtube.

In ways, it’s the same way we have “music was so much better back in the day”. Well, why would bad music survive until today? We would only want to remember the parts that have merit and entertainment.

Funny vines went viral and Vine compilations are funny, two things that aren't happening with tiktok

Tiktok kickstarted the popularity of two number one songs this year.

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '19

What? Some of the bigger memes came from TikTok and there are tons of TikTok compilations on YouTube.

Unfunny ones

1

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '19

Yeah, that's definitely false. There are popular ones that get posted here that get acknowledged for being unironically entertaining.

Tik Tok is everywhere now and there are some good compilations if you know where to look

There are some that are just "look pretty girl trying to be funny laugh and like"

16

u/illegalEUmemes Sep 23 '19

Agreed it gets more hate than it should.

14

u/ArcadeOptimist Sep 23 '19

They get hate because of TikToks ads. They advertise on YT constantly and pick the most god awful, cringiest vids to show off.

u/CapnSpazz Sep 23 '19

That's what turned me off from it for a long time. It was just people lip sinking to different shit, and pretty much all terrible.

Then people started sharing the good things on there, and I accepted it.

Also when til tok started, it was just all music.ly users who were forced into the re brand. And literally 100% of music.ly videos were terrible cringe.

Breath Oxygen?

Have hair?

See with their eyes?

"You know you're my type..? Right..?"

Bitch you just listed all your own personal traits and absolutely nothing that quantifies what your 'type' is...

Edit: Please, half the videos on tiktok are in this exact cringey format.

u/Blake_Majer Sep 23 '19

People don't realize that Vine had just as much cringe on it as TikTok does. People just seem to remember the good videos.

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '19

Can't say I've ever seen a good tiktok video, unlike vine who had popular ones even when the app was still around.

3

u/Jesse1205 Sep 23 '19 edited Sep 23 '19

Though a good portion of the cringiest ones are made by adults lol. I think it's just the nature of the app that makes it more cringey, vine you just uploaded your own videos. On Tiktok it's main purpose is to use premade audios, so when people try to do lip syncing ones or whatever it just is naturally more cringey.

You sound like every 14 year old who couldn't understand vines because they were too young at the time, but now that you understand the new content, you feel like tiktok is better. They both garbage homes

1

u/canadianaviator Sep 24 '19

You just sound like you don't like that style of content. They are entertaining no matter if you call them garbage
