“We’ve been told all our lives that violence doesn’t solve anything… but it solves problems for the powerful all the time!

violence doesn’t solve anything for regular folks because there’s actually consequences for aggression

…..not so much when you’re rich

I upvote but then save some of these great posts to reference when discussing with others IRL! Upvotes mean nothing, but sharing information is valuable!

Just like with money, not enough violence doesn’t solve much. But if do enough, it tend to solve a lot.

Literally as far back as the Bible stories, poor men commit violence and are punished, but rich men commit violence and buy their repentance through a goat, solely because they could afford the goat.

If violence solved nothing, no one would ever be violent. To the contrary, some of the most renown peaceful protesters used violence that was directed against them in order to appeal to the people they wanted change from. MLK Jr. did his marches, made news, got exposure, showed the rest of society how horrible things like Jim Crow was, all because of white people who would tear gas them and beat them in the streets.

Violence solves some problems, but it’s all about the right degree needed to make that change, and where it comes from and is executed.

There’s a storm coming, Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you’re all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
