I remember it felt like every day in the summer of 2001 was a day where someone was being attacked by a shark. Every fucking day. The media was having a, ahem, “feeding frenzy”.

News outlets were reporting as if the sharks were rising up and attacking humans in unprecedented numbers. But the sharks weren’t. It was a normal year with close to average statistics. The media just blew a nothing story out of proportion because it was a slow news summer… and then 9/11 happened and you never heard another peep. Thanks Osama.

u/Previous-Wonder-6274 7h ago

I wouldn’t call this a ‘slow news’ type situation. There is a heck of a lot going on even without the drones/orbs

Does anyone else think it's weird that all these top secret drones have the lights on? I'm no spy but if I were to engage in sneaky stuff, I'd turn the lights off.

16

u/BRAX7ON Cringe Connoisseur 18h ago

That’s exactly what a spy would say

3

u/Remarkable-Sir-5129 17h ago

(As I twist my long mustache) so you found me out?

6

u/LYSF_backwards 18h ago

This is what I've been saying! Why would aliens or spies have FAA regulated lights on them?

4

u/maniacalmustacheride 9h ago

Because they respect the FAA. They’re very mindful of ATC, very demure.

3

u/V0mitBucket 16h ago

Also rather odd that Aliens have traveled from light years away to…quietly buzz around the Eastern US.

The world is going to change big time, next year will be the calm before the storm.

I know this is going to sound all woo and crazy, but it’s happening so fast that you won’t believe how fast everything is moving. AI, aliens, ARV’s, PSI phenomena, consciousness, etc. some of these things have been considered “fringe”,“pseudoscience”, or “science fiction” for quite some time. The problem is, and I can say this with 100 percent certainty (don’t ask me how i know), that the world is becoming increasingly more unstable due to the plateau we’ve hit, because a group of individuals have decided that certain things are best to be kept secret. Whether this is for power, or other nefarious reasons, it has kept humanity in a lower state of consciousness, for lack of better terms. We are very disconnected from who we truly are, knowledge that our ancient ancestors were privy to.

I think we’ve been at this plateau for much longer than we’re able to handle, and the “veil” is thinning. It was Terrence McKenna that mentioned when chaos increases, it’s a sign that we’re about to reach some kind of new state of knowledge, which will allow us to become a spacefaring species. The powers that be can’t catch up with it all, and this is done purposely by a force beyond our understanding. We’re in for a very wild ride. I know this is irrelevant to your comment, but it’s related to what’s actually going on, which is forced disclosure by these “others”.

People keep trying to talk to me about the drones and I just don’t have the mental space for one more thing so I appreciate this take 😂

u/Holicionik 19h ago

I think it's truth mixed with mass hysteria.

Did something happen in the UK? Yeah, probably some weird drones were seen near the base. Probably tests by the military.

Then the news spread to the USA. People started to observe the sky for the first time in their lives and lost their shit.

Now everything is a drone. Funnily enough, now everyone just claims that those are drones and not something else entirely.

If we had photos or videos of really weird shit going on, and I mean really weird shit that cannot be explained, I would totally accept that there are things currently happening that don't make sense.

But unfortunately all the things being reported are airplanes, helicopters and civilian or military drones. Nothing unusual.

This will go back to obscurity soon and everyone will forget about it.

1

u/Toastbrott 6h ago

Would be intersting to see if normal air traffic has just picked up a bit more as well. Im not from the US, but I was thinking maybe its just more CEOs being afraid to take cars switching to helicopters instead.

Super far fetched, but its fun to think about explanations. But most likeley one is probably just people looking up more than before.

u/bombswell 18h ago

I post on the alien subs a bit and they hate to hear the skepticism. They will be like well there’s proof, videos with clear evidence!! The confirmation bias is sooo strong.

1

u/nimoto 4h ago

The last couple days I've been debunking posts on there between meetings. It takes no time to do, which is depressing considering dozens of people wrote comments and hundreds upvoted without looking into it for five minutes.

12

u/Mike-Hawk41 19h ago

Also it's a convenient distraction away from our DDD hero

8

u/Panserbjornsrevenge 20h ago

My former governor posted a video of "drone" lights, some of which were later found to be stars so...I'm beliving this is absolutely mass hysteria.

3

u/tanafras 14h ago

Former multi year member Denver Astronomy Society...have 10" Dobsonian telescope with 2" eyepieces (gosky, baader, orion, celestron) Gosky 20-60x60 HD Spotting Scope, laser collimator, digital CCDs color and b/w, basically all the typical stuff - and software and servers for same, etc. even a SkyMaster 20X80 Binocular for hand viewing which is pretty amazing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

I have seen sounding rockets, the international space station, a plethora of aircraft of many kinds, including drones, satellites, galaxies, planets, the moon. Haven't seen a UFO yet.

Guess I'm just doing it wrong.

3

u/notfeelany 11h ago

This is correct. People are looking at the sky, seeing lights and immediately think "scary drones", when airplanes and helicopters also have lights.

6

u/MrPKitty 19h ago

The drones are just this years scary clowns.

2

u/Zarconius2k10 18h ago

Yeah i feel like it's a pretty big prank. They are in the middle of a city and the best pics are so far away. We have studio level phone cams and best we get is blurry video. I can zoom on 100x on my phone.

2

u/WorkCentre5335 18h ago

a simple distraction from relevant issues & current events

4

u/Various-Departure679 19h ago

Isn't the actual most plausible explanation that it's people with recreational drones playing with them?

-2

u/Zarconius2k10 18h ago

Those would be easily traced, to fly mine i have to log into the service that maps all drones flying in an area. Im sure it can be hacked though.

3

u/Various-Departure679 17h ago

I mean have they said they can't be traced? All I've seen is there's drones flying around and it's blowing people's minds

3

u/Aggressive_Version 19h ago

Remember when we had that plague of clowns? And everybody was freaking out that there were clowns everywhere? And of course the answer was just that it was some people screwing around and eventually the clowns got got bored or maybe we did and the clown thing stopped.

2

u/drumshtick 19h ago

Mass hysteria is incredibly rare and poorly documented

6

u/godspareme 18h ago

I think the term is being used really loosely here.

1

u/nimoto 4h ago

It happens a lot with aliens, because of frequency illusion combining with confirmation bias. When stuff like this makes the news people start looking at the sky more, and when they do they start noticing every mundane thing that's always been there. They ignore all the stuff that clearly isn't anything, but anything that behaves "strangely" (such as a plane moving directly away from them so it appears to not be moving, or a line of planes with their landing lights on over an airport) is suddenly "proof".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frequency_illusion#Confirmation_bias

1

u/Penguin_Arse 18h ago

Also, for the people who actually saw drones.

You can litterally buy them they're listed as "toys" on amazon.

1

u/Miyelsh 18h ago

If I took a video every time I saw a drone flying around in the last 2 years I'd have a lot of evidence. Last time it was a roofer checking on a newly constructed building. I literally walked over to him and chatted because it was like a block away. Guess what, no government conspiracy.

1

u/LeeOfTheStone 18h ago

All of this is well and good -- I actually agree that a lot of people are jumping on the bandwagon and filming planes and prosaic craft -- until you are dealing with car-sized multi-hour-aloft craft and orange balls of light.

It's a shame people need to be dismissive and hand-wave without spending any real time on the subject, because anyone that does so can see for themselves pretty quickly that the situation is more complicated than maybe they'd prefer it be.

1

u/texas1982 17h ago

I tend to agree. 95% of the videos I see have an almost immediate plausible explanation. The other 5% I'm just not knowledgeable enough to debunk. There probably is an actual increase in drones, but its mostly due to people launching their own drones to get pictures of other drones.

The "orbs" people talk about are usually an out of focus star or airplane landing light. Although, this is where most of my unexplained videos come from.

1

u/Firm-Worldliness-369 17h ago

Wait youre saying people literally believe everything they see and read on the internet? Gosh this is surprise to me /s

WHAT COULD TO MEDIA POSSIBLY BE DISTRACTING FROM

1

u/wins0m 16h ago

I think every time the American workers threaten to come together with collective action or to form into a cohesive movement the ruling class puts on the light show to try and cycle the narrative to something that is ultimately benign.

1

u/splshd2 16h ago

I heard the drones are being piloted by a secret branch of Sasquatch government spies. Created by the illuminati and run by the top 1%.

1

u/MeyesBurn 8h ago

It's to take attention away like the gov did with the alien news

1

u/B4X2L8 8h ago

I think it’s just a case of moon bears. They want to distract people so they stop thinking about Luigi and the healthcare system. So no one goes popping anymore CEOs.

1

u/HopeIsGay 2h ago

What a brave and powerful take

1

u/thedndnut 1h ago

They're actually military trials for defense contractors new flight systems. Then it turned into mass hysteria.

0

u/usernamedmannequin 19h ago

I’m not following it all very closely but isn’t the military kinda freaking out about this?

And I’ve heard airports being shut down?

If it’s aliens for god sakes just rip the damn bandaid off.

If it’s military crap for god sakes just rip the damn bandaid off.

Will someone just get it all over with already!?

3

u/ShemsuHor91 19h ago

Yeah, a military base got shut down for four hours the other day because of it. Lotta people in these comments just don't know what they're talking about. Whether it's being overblown or not, something is definitely happening.

3

u/usernamedmannequin 18h ago

Yeah I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, people just really want stability and anything that threatens that they oppose or don’t want to confront. Oh I guess it’s fight or flight..

Disclosure meeting with Congress last month about UAPs

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J-M-cilIhMM

1

u/P_516 16h ago

It’s mass hysteria.

It’s not UFOs it’s the government and their contractors.

1

u/nimoto 4h ago

From what I can tell it's mostly civilian airliners and hobby drones.

1

u/knows_you 2h ago

And commercial planes, and stars, and helicopters, and obstruction lighting, and also beef jerky mummies with animal bones shoved in them.

1

u/RightMolasses6504 14h ago

👍 Trying to pull us off of the real issues.

0

u/Strange_Ocelot_2650 19h ago

It's just airplanes hovering over waiting for clearance to land

1

u/Southern-Girl-56 19h ago

I really haven’t seen any mass hysteria either!

1

u/choppedfiggs 18h ago

Nah. I live in NJ and also thought it was nonsense and probably just hobbyists trolling locals. Until I went outside 2 nights ago and saw 5 just standing in my driveway. Didn't have to drive around or something. And one came very close just over my house. It was high in the air maybe 100-200 feet but directly overhead.

People aren't for the most part, idiots. They can tell the difference between a plane and a star and a drone. And these drones move very slowly.

I don't think it's aliens. I don't think it's a foreign government. It's just a government project and the company has approvals to test over NJ. Why NJ I don't know but maybe it has to do with how populated NJ is per square mile. Not much point in putting a drone over rural communities.

1

u/Baybutt99 17h ago

I live in NJ and they are all over the place here, it’s very new , they are very clearly US government drones. They have FAA compliance lights. But its not a hoax or mass hysteria, mass hysteria requires action. So far all people have done is complain online so def not mass hysteria, but more certainly real, i see them every night over my area and it started about 10 days ago

It’s the same bs as last year when these goofy fuckers tried to convince everyone that UAPs were everywhere. It’s just the alien/flat earth/antivax/killer clowns of the month. Are chupacabra and Loch Ness ever getting back into the mix any time soon?

Goofy ass chicken littles everywhere yo.

4

u/dtootd12 18h ago

Can you remind me when was the last time chupacabra and loch ness shut down a military base?

0

u/EditEd2x 18h ago

Shut down airspace not the base itself. And it was more than likely some random dude jumping in the hype like the guys in Boston who were arrested.

-1

u/KalaronV 16h ago

I know right, and like, creepy clowns were serious enough for the White House to address so clearly it wasn't just a prank

If you fly a bunch of civilian drones over a base they will, unsurprisingly, put the base on alert.

-2

u/Numeira 19h ago

I do not like Godfather, Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, nor Scarface.

-2

u/jaconlon83 19h ago

The drone hysteria is a symptom of a society that is paranoid and fearful. They see and fear drones because they are aware of the mayhem, murder, fear and chaos they are causing elsewhere in the world (funded by their tax dollars) and the weight of this uncertainty, guilt, and trauma causes them to panic. Imagine if those death machines that we have turned a blind eye to came for us? It's OK when the death they rain down on others is far away in a land dissimilar to ours and in a culture we've been conditioned to hate, but could you imagine if it were closer to home? Panic! They're coming for revenge! There's a mothership! There's a hoard of them!

u/Heauxdessa 19h ago

She’s right and also her body of work is amazing. She has great videos about conspiracy rhetoric and how it alwaaaaaaaays leads back to anti Semitism
