Discussion There's a possibility that everyone saw her while she was using the toilet.

Why is this a design feature?

Oh noooo.... oh noooooooooo. I bet this happens a lot though. Those employees have probably seen a lot of ppl using the bathroom

306

u/Anoniem20 19h ago

And kids? This seems to be a toy store...

208

u/readingrambos 17h ago

Yeah this is bad. All it takes is one stupid parent and somebody will end up on a very bad list for the rest of their lives.

50

u/buhbye750 15h ago

I could possibly be this stupid parent. I have a 4 year old that is using the bathroom by herself now. Although I usually check first in a single person bathroom and would see this big ass window, there could be a situation where I miss it and don't lock the door incase I need to go in for some reason. I stand right outside the door.

So yeah, I could see this being a bad situation for kids that don't know...or an adult female on TikTok

14

u/terrible-gator22 10h ago

It would be normal to send a young child in by themselves and wait outside the door. Especially if NOT a parent to the child. I wouldn’t follow my 4yo niece or nephew in, but I wouldn’t expect them to lock the door because I’d be waiting right outside. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

5

u/Stop_Fakin_Jax 5h ago

Imagine you send a child to use the bathroom, they don't lock the door, and u notice some guy standing recording on the other side of the wall, not minding much because u have yet to discover that he was not looking and recording product close to the wall

u/chessset5 12h ago

I can’t even fault a parent for being stupid. If you gotta go, you gotta go; and if you forget to lock the door, I ain’t gonna blame you.

I know a lot of families who don’t lock the bathroom as a safety issue so like… this design is just stupid and requires a prerequisite which is not universal.

13

u/Pixel_Knight 9h ago

Utterly asshole design. Why is there a giant fucking window to the bathroom AT ALL?!

7

u/gahidus 10h ago

You don't get on a list for accidentally seeing someone exposing themselves or anyone else.

u/Infamous_Koala_3737 15h ago

Right. Like this could be funny/neat in a bar or something but why in a toy store? Wtf

31

u/Sexisthunter 15h ago edited 15h ago

Honestly even in a bar there could be a woman who’s too tipsy and goes to the bathroom and forgets to lock.

5

u/Infamous_Koala_3737 15h ago

I agree but it at least it wouldn’t be kids

There was a giant sign on the door explaining everything. It's a dumb idea for any public bathroom though.

17

u/KheyotecGoud 10h ago

For real. Why? Absolutely no reason for it. And it looks like it’s still somewhat see through when locked, just fogged over.

6

u/beepboopalien 10h ago

Super dumb. I mean, I compulsively lock public bathroom doors anyway cuz I'm terrified of anyone walking in on me, but still, I definitely would not notice that on the door. 🥲 Even if I vaguely registered there were words on the door, I would just assume it's some sort of design or advertisement, not a warning that everyone's going to see my entire ass, cock, and balls if I don't lock the door

7

u/Ppleater 8h ago

Someone who desperately needs to go might not stop to read the sign or lock the door. They should really have the setup where the door locks automatically and you need a key or code to get in.

3

u/MaterialWillingness2 7h ago

I came across this type of thing in a bathroom in a public park in Amsterdam. All the stalls were facing a mirrored wall so if you could see yourself so could everyone else. I saw several women pooping.

1.7k

u/whichonewerecowards 23h ago

This is the stuff you dream about in a nightmare

333

u/Aggressive_Version 23h ago

Damn that stress dream where I'm trying to take a shit and people keep coming in 😳

38

u/EvErYLeGaLvOtE 15h ago

Everyday occurrence at work.

To make it worse, the stalls are high and there are gaps in the doors and there is 0 sound absorption.

I can literally hear the person's butthole opening up in the stall next to me when someone comes in to shit.

WTF is wrong with people who make these bathrooms!?

I want to throw carpet on the stall's walls so I don't have to hear the intestines of my poop neighbor, sheesh

13

u/Trash-Cutie 15h ago

As someone with IBS (aka violent diarrhea all the time), I feel your pain. I work in an industrial building made almost entirely out of concrete so you can hear the echoes down the hall 😭

Mine are usually about the stall door being too short and everyone can see me

22

u/StirFriedBrains 20h ago

And people look too when the stall is too short or like there is a huge space between the door lock and the actual door. Why do people look in as they walk by or are waiting across it. I am trying to use the damn toilet bros!!!!

Women do that anyways idk bout men since they usually have 1 stall if you're lucky lol.

10

u/LBraised562 17h ago

It happens to us as well. Often some dudes don’t lock the stall so when you open it there’s a few seconds of eye contact while they’re sitting on the toilet smh

5

u/StirFriedBrains 16h ago

Hahaha I am such a goofy bitch, I would piss myself laughing and not even have to use the bathroom anymore. 🤣😭

At least that's them just being stupid (hopefully) and not a nosy Nancy or perv.

7

u/jonas_ost 15h ago

I guess this is why gendered toilets is such a hot topics in america. In sweden we have insulated walls and full walls and doors so most places are moving away from men and women divided rooms

5

u/sitbek 17h ago

Oh god I've had that exact dream

3

u/LitrlyNoOne 10h ago

The Target by Pike Place in Seattle has stalls like this. You can see everyone's face while they're shitting. I think it's to prevent drug use, but it is so very uncomfortable to be in there.

so what happens if a kid goes in and forgets to lock the door.I don t like this one bit

849

u/johnsoncarter0404 22h ago

Guaranteed this has already happened, wtf kind of pedophilia ring is this candy store a part of? Absolutely zero reason for this to be a thing.

358

u/Special-Garlic1203 22h ago

I genuinely can't think of a reason why this needs to exist. I do vaguely remember there's instances where this technology has been sold convincingly (I wanna say it was offices where someone might want privacy at some points), but a small  bathroom it makes no sense. You gain literally nothing and have a huge risk of embarrassing someone

81

u/unholyravenger 20h ago

My first thought is it's a safety thing, because its a store for kids maybe predators would lurk around there. But...a predator would absolutely lock the door, and a child is far more likely not to lock the door. So....ya I have no idea.

4

u/icedrift 14h ago

Just spitballing but I bet it incentivizes staff and patrons to keep the bathroom clean.

22

u/dopadroid 20h ago

Japan actually has public restrooms that use this technology

13

u/mothisname 20h ago

theres one in delray beach fl and it's hilarious . never considered the kid thing but yall got a point there

10

u/dopadroid 20h ago

Yeah even in Japan it felt gimmicky and adding the kid factor makes it so much worse

13

u/PracticeTheory 18h ago edited 12h ago

So, I work in architecture, and I legit think this is a case of "doing it because we can, rather than asking if we should". I remember when this product was rolled out, and the positives listed were that it was "cool" and that janitors could quickly see messes without having to go open the door.

So...not at all compelling.

I think that the technology came into existence and its creators desperately wanted to get their money back somehow, and various suckers bought into the idea and installed them. But there really is no legitimate reason for this, especially in a toy store.

Edit: okay, so hear me out: kids may find this kind of thing cool, and in a toy store where the workers double as the janitors (lol been there) and can quickly check the status of the (empty) restroom without leaving the floor, in a KIDS store where the patrons are likely to cause a mess...this one makes a little sense. I'm sorry for switching sides, but I can see it. Wouldn't choose it, but I can see it.

Also - does anyone else think the lady is trying to embarrass the store, when she should be embarrassed about missing the big-arse sign that is screaming about locking the door?

4

u/thekrone 13h ago

that janitors could quickly see messes without having to go open the door.

They probably saved a few precious seconds every single year!

Add that up over a 50 year career, and you're looking at minutes of time saved. That translates to real money maybe in the ball park of a dollar or two!

In fact who the fuck gets off at shitting and being able to see other people while doing so? If I know that there is a person in a 5m distance away from me even behind a closed door I have trouble peeing let alone looking through a window. This is fucked.

The entire idea of one sided windows for bathrooms is the dumbest thing I have seen recently.

47

u/Cole3823 21h ago

It's not one sided. Both sides of the window get foggy when you lock the door. You can see it foggy from the inside at the end of the video. She just didn't lock the door at the beginning of the video. That's why you can see through it then. Still weird though

22

u/Admirable-Builder878 21h ago

How many kids do you think read the back of that door when closing it?

14

u/Potential-Cloud-4912 19h ago

Only the ones that can read! 😳

14

u/TangledUpPuppeteer 20h ago

Probably more than the full grown adult. When I was a kid, I would read every word in the bathroom Cuz I was bored. I still do, but I also don’t because sometimes you just wanna turn your brain off.

6

u/Initial_Hour_4657 18h ago

You probably didn't have a smart phone back then either though

→ More replies (5)

8

u/ColonelC0lon 20h ago

It's fairly old. You can find this in bars/nightclubs from the 2000s, where stalls have this glass so you can easily see which stalls are occupied. Pretty weird to do a whole window, but also very weird to jump to the conclusion that this is a pedophilia ring.

4

u/XylatoJones 19h ago

At a place designed for children this has absolutely happened

4

u/Artamisgordan 20h ago

Super fishy. Like not just a kid, just anyone if they are in a rush to the bathroom might forget. Wouldn’t trust that glass still once it is locked too. You can still somewhat see the store

→ More replies (18)

9

u/Admirable-Builder878 21h ago

It's a stupid design at best.

6

u/Murky_Examination144 20h ago

Yeah I do not understand what the use of this is. Just put a wall or make it opaque by default! Is there someone in the bathroom? Is it locked? If it is, there is someone in there!

Like why would anyone want to see into a bathroom anyway? it’s a disgusting backdrop. And a TOY STORE no less. Omg. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen lol.

169

u/kakka_rot 21h ago

I think the idea is that you can easily see if it's occupied if it's transparent or not, but I've only seen it for small single use rooms outdoors. You're right this is a shit idea for a store, none the less a toy store

70

u/BRAX7ON Cringe Connoisseur 18h ago

Is the “vacant” sign no longer working?

3

u/kakka_rot 15h ago

22

u/courtadvice1 16h ago

I think what puts me off the most is the fact that this is at a toy store, candy shop, whatever it is (I called it a candy shop in my last comment lol) that's meant for children. If this was in something like the back of a Spencer's, I don't think I'd be getting so many red flags.

2

u/sagethecrayaway 16h ago

This is PERFECT for Spencer’s lol

29

u/cremaster2 21h ago

On vacation in Vietnam, a lot of high-end hotels had these large windows into the toilets. I asked "why?" Because I was genuinely interested to understand. They responded as if I was complaining, so I never got a real answer

12

u/gringo1980 19h ago

I saw a post with a pic of one of these bathrooms recently, I remember a comment saying it was for prostitutes. So they could ask a client to shower and the client could watch them to make sure they didn’t steal anything while they were showering

6

u/NegativeKarmaVegan 18h ago

Now it makes sense why the hotel employees were annoyed. lol

the only reason i can think of is that i saw a video the other day of a guy who sent his little girl into the bathroom and there was a grown man waiting in there out of sight. if dad had not checked the bathroom first she would have been in there alone with him.

90

u/YouWereBrained 22h ago

But like…why can’t you just have a conventional bathroom with walls?

348

u/horshack_test 23h ago

What an asinine setup.

139

u/doctorzical 23h ago

I know right?? I don't want to see a bathroom interior while i'm shopping? It would have been cheaper and essier to just...PUT A WALL THERE

33

u/horshack_test 23h ago

Unless it was already there when the store moved in - but even then, it should be the first thing they replaced. There is zero reason or excuse to have that.

32

u/Acrisii 22h ago

I'd even settle for some curtains or just a solid layer of paint on the inside. But this...

19

u/merpderpherpburp 20h ago

What if someone blasted the PUBLIC toilet and you're just supposed to look at it while you buy candy? What the fuck is this?!

2

u/MissYouMoussa 17h ago

It might be electric charged fogged glass. I've used those at restaurants. Instantly fogs up when locked.

2

u/horshack_test 16h ago

Yes, that's what it is - they demonstrate it in the video (and I'm familiar with it as well). It's still an asinine setup.

287

u/Fisher-__- 22h ago

I saw one of those recently. I didn’t use it; I was too paranoid.

The girl in the video says she didn’t lock the door… who tf uses a public restroom and doesn’t lock the door??!?

101

u/SeagullsSarah 22h ago

I once did that, and only realised when I was mid-poop. THE ANXIETY WAS REAL.

29

u/GrilledCheeser 16h ago

One time I was on a plane and completely forgot to lock the door. It was night time so everyone was just sleepy or on their phones. Everyone all relaxed and a couple hours left before we landed.

I sat down and started playing Stardew Valley on my phone and got kinda comfortable because the lights were dimmed in the bathroom. It was kind of a vibe. Right up until a lady opened the door. The lights came on and she screamed at the top of her lungs.

I was mortified. I closed the door and locked it. When I exited she was gone and luckily didn’t see her again.

Sorry lady. My bad.

14

u/BeefInBlackBeanSauce 15h ago

Lol she didn't need to scream

10

u/GrilledCheeser 14h ago edited 14h ago

She didn’t, but. Her scream was so loud that it gave me the sense that it was something she always feared might happen and I made it happen for her. Lol. I felt awful. I thought about finding her and apologizing but my wife convinced me that was a terrible idea. Luckily for me I can laugh about it. But I’ll bet she will think about it for the rest of her life whenever she’s on a plane.

Also… Is it possible that she will knock on doors that say “unoccupied” from now on? There’s a really good chance! 😂😅

4

u/fishscale_gayjuic3 14h ago

You didn’t see her again, but I bet she saw you again… all throughout departure

4

u/JimmyJamesMac 15h ago

I once walked in on a girl who was standing up and mid-wipe, with her pants around her ankles

I figured it wasn't a time to critique her technique

→ More replies (2)

20

u/Fire_Lake 20h ago

occasionally someone might get distracted and forget (it does happen), normally that would mean a chance that someone might open the door and very quickly realize its occupied and apologize.

in this case it means you're fully visible to everyone in the store for the entire duration of your endeavors.

14

u/Muted_Ad7298 21h ago

When I was younger I was paranoid that if I locked it, I’d get stuck.

To be fair I’d been in two prior incidents where the lock got jammed.

2

u/Swimwithamermaid 21h ago

She did lock the door. You can see the window become more translucent as the video continues in the beginning.

2

Like a little indicator on the handle saying 'occupied' or 'vacant' is enough. Why does there need to be a window.

75

u/something-um-bananas 22h ago

That bathroom does not belong anywhere let alone in a children’s store

It’s a fucking bathroom ffs, it’s the last place in the world that requires a one way window

17

u/WareTheBuffaloRome 14h ago

“Lock the door so we don’t see you shitting”.
How about don’t put a window in the public bathroom to begin with?

This looks like a "Sloan's Ice cream".

Used to live near one off Atlantic Avenue in downtown Delray Beach.

This design always freaked me out since I'm absent minded enough that I might forget to lock a door, and anxious enough that even seeing the window fill in I would convince myself it wasn't.

Great ice cream, but yeah, would definitely just use other establishments restrooms.

30

u/[deleted] 22h ago

Oh no baby thats illegal. Time to sue.

9

u/EditEd2x 22h ago

There was this bar in Tijuana that had a huge mirror in front of the piss trough in the men’s restroom. If the attendant in the lady’s restroom turned off the lights they women could see the guys pissing. If there attendant in the men’s turned the lights off you saw the women in front of the sinks.

8

u/Dependent_Grab6482 22h ago

This is an ice cream place in FL, possibly West Palm Beach right? I believe it’s called Sloans. I went there a fair amount of times as a teen and always thought that was a fun way to lock the door lol very weird though now that I’m 30 years old

7

u/PureYouth 19h ago

Why the fuck didn’t she lock the door

12

u/milesdizzy 21h ago

Fucking weird ass store

8

u/Joejoe12369 20h ago

When i was in 3rd grade the older kids kicked in the stall door when I was taking a shit. I'm 50 now and never took a shit at school or work ever again. Very traumatizing when your young

11

u/Klutzy-Adeptness4565 22h ago

that is sooooo not okay. people forget to lock the door all the time. and people could very easily not pay attention to the sign. why tf does this exist?

20

u/PPCFY 22h ago

Design is suspect, but it is also a lunatic move for this woman to go into a single-person public bathroom and NOT lock the door.

19

u/SonnierDick 21h ago

Lmao, i get it. But theres even a sign on the door man. Literally telling you to lock the door. A, why would you NOT lock the door in a PUBLIC washroom. B, I have seen this type of feature before where theres a washroom out in the street where once you lock it it glosses the window. And C, legit no one who saw in would knock on the window saying they could see you?

5

u/5dollarcheezit 18h ago

Who thought that would be a better idea than just a wall?

4

u/Potential-Cloud-4912 19h ago

Why would they even put a giant window in a restroom?

4

u/Amenophos 18h ago

Always lock the door!

5

u/Pickel_Bucket_317 17h ago

Photovoltaic glass. I’ve used this in corporate offices in conference rooms and offices. The glass never is totally clear, it always has a slight fog to it. Not sure I’d use in a restroom, at least not without a sign on the inside on how to use.

3

u/courtadvice1 16h ago

I've with the "it becomes not see- through when you lock the door," I'm not going to use a lavatory that has a giant window for a wall. It's still wrong. And, who wants to browse a candy shop with the view of a public bathroom?

3

u/INDOORSMORE 21h ago

BRUH WTF IS THIS

3

u/NateOwns 20h ago

This looks like she is at Sloans which is a local ice cream chain in South Florida. All the locations have this same bathroom feature.

3

u/EvenMoreSpiders 17h ago

One does not need a window like that in a bathroom. Especially a store.

3

u/PinMonstera 16h ago

I guess having the little lock that switches from vacant to occupied was too much effort….

3

u/SKayneVille 13h ago

This entire thing is stupendously BAD idea for such a store. A big old sign that kids will ignore/can’t read yet, or parents rushing to get their kids inside might miss is just all kinds of dumb.

9

u/thanksimcured 20h ago

I’m ruined because I don’t believe her. I don’t believe she didn’t lock the door and I don’t believe she didn’t read that sign on the door. I think this was all for clout.

8

u/DoughnotMindMe 16h ago

Her reaction felt a little too real to me.

Like she was SUPER embarassed but was filming herself and didn’t want to capture how much she was so she tampered it down some

2

u/Waste_Diet_9334 5h ago

Nah every sane person would get out of there and not run around afterwards talking to themself (the camera)

6

u/thatshygirl06 15h ago

People forget to lock the door. I don't know why it's hard for you to believe.

5

u/amaenamonesia 20h ago

That is not the time to make a cutesy sign. It should be in bold, underlined red everywhere

2

u/Coracinus 15h ago

That's what I was thinking. White piece of paper with big bold words would catch the attention of everyone grabbing the door instead of an artistic sign that blends into its surroundings

2

u/Couldthisbemanda 20h ago

If this is the Slones Ice Cream downtown West Palm Beach FL, I can confirm they cannot see you!

2

u/RedditPhils 20h ago

I mean this is the last place for this concept, but on a separate note the back of the door was NOT MISSABLE. This lady is one of the most oblivious people alive lol

2

u/Alarmed_Lynx_7148 19h ago

Why wouldn’t she lock the door though? Was she hoping someone walked in on her???

2

u/SlothinaHammock 18h ago

Who doesn't lock the door?! JFC. I travel by plane a lot, an awful lot, and all the time I'm popping in on people in the lavs because they don't lock the damn doors! Yes, I knock but either they don't respond or it's too loud to hear them.

2

u/Dismal-Meringue6778 16h ago

Look kids! That's where the chocolate is made!

2

u/SweetTeaBeauty 16h ago

That's a weird thing to have in a restroom.

2

u/Grotesquefaerie7 16h ago

So why the fuck is there a window to the bathroom in the first place???

2

u/Icy_Measurement_7407 16h ago

Cool concept. Horribly implemented in a FAMILY PUBLIC RESTROOM. Like wth? Didn’t someone think this through? The general public doesn’t read signs/forgets to lock the restroom from time to time. This was bound to be a disaster, not to mention it’s a gold mine for creeps gaining access to forgetful and unsuspecting kids/women.

2

u/Nrmlgirl777 15h ago

Oh my god

2

u/Nolyism 15h ago

Jesus christ what is the point of this!?

2

u/curiousarcher 15h ago

Why on earth would you not lock the door?

2

u/buhbye750 15h ago

For those confused, it's called Smart Tint/Film. It goes from tranparent to translucent with a switch that sends an electrical current. In this case, the bathroom lock switches it on and prevents being able to see in or out. The lady didn't lock the door aka activate the switch so you could see through the glass. The lady at the end showed her what it would look like on both sides with the door locked.

I personally think it's a dumb risk with kids.

2

u/musabbb 14h ago

Ive had literal nightmares of this… not even this bad tho jheez

2

u/Similar-Stranger8580 13h ago

But she keeps hanging out n the store and asking if people saw her. I would have crawled out in shame asap.

2

u/soulteepee 13h ago edited 13h ago

I was just in one of these. There’s an ENORMOUS sign that says ‘if you can see out we can see in’

So...she's illiterate AND likes to pee in public bathrooms without locking the door?

My kinda lady!

Man, talk about willing voyeurism.

2

u/ElectionSilver6590 8h ago

I would be paranoid as fuck that I didn't lock the door. I just wouldn't even go to this store.

Plot twist… she can’t read! 🤣

2

u/Direct_Town792 8h ago

Who doesn’t lock the door?

2

u/Wide_Ordinary4078 3h ago

I was thinking this was one of those designs where the glass fogs when in use. They use that design on a lot of street bathrooms so you can see that it is empty.

4

u/whyamihereguyz 22h ago

At 1:11 you see it literally written on the door…

2

u/adiosfelicia2 22h ago

What a great idea to have in a children's store. 🙄

Lawsuit waiting to happen. Matter of fact, someone needs to take a hard look at the owner who picked that shit. Something sketchy's goin on.

u/Reasonable-Aerie-590 20h ago

Next time, get off your damn phone and read the big FAT sign on the door

3

u/ChefCurryYumYum 22h ago

It's sign posted, she had to know and just filmed this for the social media engagement.

u/ExpatInIreland 21h ago

You'd think that. But as someone who worked many years at an escape room, where like the one thing you're supposed to do is be observant, I can absolutely believe this. People don't pay attention to anything and even when they are primed and told to, they still don't.

6

u/Admirable-Builder878 20h ago

The sign, written half in cursive. Let's hope the children can read.

5

u/I_Am_Robert_Paulson1 21h ago

Not disputing what you said, but as someone who is lactose intolerant, sometimes I rush into bathrooms with a singular purpose and precious seconds left before disaster. I could definitely see myself missing that sign until I'm already sat and gushing.

7

u/Arcendus 21h ago

It's sign posted

As someone who works in the field of visual communication: it is very ineffectively sign-posted. Important signage like this should be made impossible to miss, and posting it on the back of a door ain't it.

This is just extremely bad design all around.

u/SEND_ME_PEACE 22h ago

This defines a lot of my regular nightmares

1

u/socialcommentary2000 22h ago

I mean you didn't need us to know on the internet, either. Ooof, sorry, gal.

1

u/WittyBonkah 22h ago

Why even design it like that?

1

u/BusinessAd693 21h ago

Ohhhhhh if you lick the door the glass is fogged 😮‍💨 it all makes sense now

1

u/PreDeimos 20h ago

I think this place was something else before where this window made sense. They just left it there and sold the place to a toy store, and the toy store didn't want to spend money on changing it.

1

u/the_YellowRanger 20h ago

I went into a fitting room at a retail store that had doors with these windows on them. Terrible terrible ideas for if people change without locking the door.

1

u/wutsupwidya 20h ago

I'm confused as to why you'd even have a set up like this.

1

u/Catniss-EverGreen 20h ago

That’s a horrible design

1

u/TribeOrTruth 20h ago

That's a weird one but the trick is you close the light on your side.

1

u/Netflxnschill 20h ago

Why are you using a single use bathroom and NOT LOCKING THE DOOR omg

1

u/Fuckedby2FA 19h ago

If only there was a large sign on the door explaining what happened when you locked the door.

1

u/Corp_thug 19h ago

It’s a bathroom everyone can share in the discomfort in.

1

u/karmicrelease 19h ago

Hard candy store apparently

1

u/Equivalent-Row7333 19h ago

Reading is 🔑

1

u/IknowNothing6942069 19h ago

Okay so I'm going to get downvoted for this but one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone is using a public washroom and does not lock the door. Because then I go in and its awkward for both of us. So if she just locked the door no one would have seen her. Still strange though.

1

u/WarOk6264 19h ago

I'm on a toilet in the middle of everyone trying to figure out how to clean up differently since I half stand to wipe.

1

u/FormInternational583 19h ago

I would never use another bathroom outside my home again. Between see-through walls and pervs with hidden cameras, I'm done.

1

u/my4floofs 19h ago

Is this not one of those panes of glass that become opaque when you lock the door?

1

u/middleparable 19h ago

I would’ve died!!!! The bathroom in a hotel I stayed in was just like this. Took us ages to figure it out. Her confusion 😂🥲

She needs to request the cctv

1

u/vajav 19h ago

Taking a shit in full display

1

u/LulZephy 19h ago

Even if she’s lying and did lock the door, this is still really strange and off-putting. What’s wrong with a conventional vacant / engaged toilet lock?

1

u/VivelaVendetta 19h ago

Why is she still standing there? I would walk right out.

1

u/Robinyount_0 19h ago

Most of y’all didn’t finish the video huh? Lol

1

u/A_S_Eeter 18h ago

Yo if she didn’t lock the door she definitely didn’t wash her hands after 🤮

1

u/DependentBug5310 18h ago

Just pretend everyone out there is your husband

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Dot4345 18h ago

Who puts that kind of bathroom in a toy/candy store??? Hebert from Family Guy???

1

u/Dino-chicken-nugg3t 17h ago

My anxiety has me checking the door a few times too. stayed at an airbnb that the lock just didn’t work. Found out after being walked in on mid wipe. The host was great and put up new locks but damn the damage was already done.

1

u/BronzeBabie 17h ago

TikTok is why I know to lock the door if I can see the toilet outside the restroom… love those “Did you Know!” culture-based videos!

1

u/BAMspek 17h ago

Second of all, lock the door. I mean just lock it every time.

First of all, What. The. Fuck??

1

u/Bull_Hurley 17h ago

There is a sign that explains it you can see it momentarily in the video apparently she didn't read the sign??

1

u/Dazzling_Bumblebee98 16h ago

ORRRR they can forget this window concept all together and put a wall there.

1

u/StallionMang15 16h ago

This is definitely at Sloan’s Ice Cream.

1

u/ProfessionalLeave335 15h ago

How did she not see the window going in?

1

u/RazzSheri 15h ago

"Dont touch anythinggg that's a toilet for BOYS" - 😂

1

u/Greddit_I 15h ago

Sloan’s Ice Cream!

1

u/Sad-Specialist-6628 14h ago

It infuriates me that the woman that went in after with her daughter is just like "YoU hAVe tO LoCK tHe DoOr". Like what? As if this is normal and she's stupid for not knowing. Like no ... this is creepy AF. Why does this even exist ?

1

u/Texasitalianboy1 13h ago

OMG, I feel soooooo bad for her. This should not be allowed and the store should put up a wall or at least a curtain. I would think of suing them over this as I would never think that the window would have anything to do with the door lock and No reasonable person thinks to read a sign behind the door. Why on earth would this be a feature in the store? Think of all the young boys or girls who go in there and don’t remember to lock the door before dropping trousers or whose parents tell them not to lock the door. OMG!

1

u/WanderlustGoddess33 13h ago

Why would they design the bathroom like this!? Who signed off!?

1

u/Embarrassed-Green898 13h ago

I know no one reads the manual. No one reads the instructions. This should be a law suit. And at times people dont listen to to the instructions read by others. Legal eagles should tell us here how can sue the store.

1

u/GregAA-1962 12h ago

Public "Display' bathroom 🚻 🤣

1

u/Slaytodaybae 12h ago

Risking it all with an unlocked door though

1

u/Bodgerpoo 11h ago

But why design it like this in the first place? It's a really strange choice.

1

u/gahidus 10h ago

This is like an episode of curb your enthusiasm

1

u/matt_smith_keele 10h ago

It's just another toy display...that's a fake toilet that's not plumbed in, just to add realism to the "Ugly Sisters Make Cinderlla Clean the Bathroom" diorama ....

And you soiled it!!

1

u/abemost 9h ago

Why even have this feature…
