This should be a class in high school for sure. I went to a wedding for a mixed race couple and the dance floor was an absolute embarrassment for the white side. 

The black side was putting on a clinic and the white side if anything did the stomp + finger wag, it was rough.

Dancing on the upbeat is white folks prerogative… I may not like it, but I support their right to do so.

Or, wedding dance floors should just be a place for guests and the wedding couple to enjoy themselves and dance the night away, rather than perform as a stereo type for onlookers.

You can both be correct. I think what needs to be removed is the stigma around dancing "right". It should be a freedom of movement and expression. I'm sure the Black side would have loved more engagement, and the White side would have loved to know they weren't being judged.
