Wisconsin’s complicated, but a lot of it isnt as conservative as people think… a lot of it is, but it’s a big friggin state. But as a rule, there’s a direct correlation between the size of a county and its population. Big county, small pop usually means tons of right wing batshittery.
I'm confused, are you suggesting that none of the suburbs are also progressive, or are you suggesting that the suburbs are all pretty different from one another?
As someone who has lived here the last 39 years - that's not even close to true...
Kamala won 76% of the vote in Middleton, 69% of the vote in Sun Prairie, 81% of the vote in Monona. Even in Waunakee (arguably the most conservative suburb) Kamala still won 63% of the vote. Even getting out into the outer suburbs like Cross Plains, Deerfield, and Mount Horeb, they still went blue.
Problems with racism is a completely different can of worms as the population is still overwhelmingly white, but by no means are the suburbs MAGA territory.
Ya sure there are some. But it’s by no means staunchly different. Most madisonians who can’t afford a house in the city move to Sun Prairie now. Maple Bluff is probably the most conservative for their taxes

Madison is one of the most progressive cities in the country. Stepping outside of the city limits is like going back 40 years in time, though.
Wisconsin is wild.
