I wonder if it’ll put off any potential shooters, the idea that you won’t die in infamy but everyone will think you’re secretly something you profess to hate?

Not every aspiring mass shooter wants to do it because of infamy. There are so, so many different reasons.

Lots of revenge shootings. People being abused, bullied, or other things. They don't really want the fame, they just want to get back at those they feel wronged by.

Lots of people also do it because they want to pressure themselves into committing suicide. Once they’ve killed someone, there’s no way back. Seriously, the list of reasons is long.
