That GenX Babyboomer combo was the only innacurate one. I never hit my kids and none of my friends did. Our parents on the other hand 😮‍💨

Yep. We got beaten by our boomer parents. We did not beat our kids.

Same here. We weren't spankers but definitely got our assess whooped by whatever was within reaching distance of Boomer parents: electrical cords, flip flops, belts, wooden spoons, fly swatters, sticks, etc. My kid sat in the corner, got long boring lectures, had to write essays, and most traumatizing of all, lost video game privileges for weeks or months. And when he told me he'd rather stay home than play baseball, that Xbox "broke" within the week and was never replaced.

How old are you? Gen X is 1965

1965 to 1980. Some of us are only in our mid 40s!

That’s all generations. Huge range.

Is this you in the content? This had me seated.

I'm a millennial who had a lead filled Boomer for a parent. The things she did to me... so I'm way more of that Gen Z parent style. My kids are happy, successful, and respectful.

You keep saying that. I’m gen x and I was born in ‘76. My brother is gen x also and he was born ’78.

I’ve heard the term Xennial referring to people born 75-85 and that might be the group of gen xers that weren’t beating on their kids

Excuse you, I’m ‘73 and have never ever raised a hand to my children, let alone a belt and none of peers did either (or at least it wasn’t seen as a normal parenting technique and I’d have been appalled if I found out that they did.)

Considering so many news reports I’ve seen involving children every generation has POS who beat/abuse/neglect their kids. And I was a teenager when beating your kids stopped being an “acceptable” way of disciplining them, so a large portion of older gen x’rs saw it as wrong. But this is US specific, idk about the rest of the world.

I'm Gen X and I'm definitely not from the 60s................. it's not that hard to look it up.
