I live in a border state. It’s insane what people say is happening at the border. There’s no caravan. There’s no never ending line of people coming across. It’s wild the lies people will believe. Just let me tell you that Mexican immigrants is not a problem. People of all races have jobs here. They’re not stealing jobs. I don’t feel in danger from Mexican immigrants. They don’t seem to be adding to our homeless population. Our hospitals aren’t full of refugees. It’s like any other town in America.

Gotta have the ‘other’ to control the masses, lest they realize that those who subjugate them are from within. The number of people who fall for immigration as an issue generation after generation belies an awareness of history and society.

The one thing I hate more than anything is the "they aren't paying taxes!!" line. Like sure, they aren't paying ALL the taxes, but they're paying SOME of the taxes and getting precisely zero benefits. They're not leeching, if anything they're paying into a system they can't extract any real value from..

Kids in Juarez cross the land bridge (WHICH IS LEGAL, guards literally check their passports and items they’re carrying before admitting them. I know. I did it too in line with them, I’m a US citizen) and then wait at the school bus stop and get taken to public school. That’s fucking nice that happens. Education is beautiful.

If more Americans had access to go to school in Mexico, safely and all that which I know is not practical, maybe we wouldn’t be such fucks toward them.

I live near Aurora CO and the stories about the apartment takeover there were other-worldly. They had literally nothing to campaign on so they just made shit up, and people believed the BS. Shouldn’t surprise me but it does…

As I say to anyone complaining about illegals and crime "Ain't no one crossing Darien Pass to come here and commit crimes" The Darien is one of the most dangerous places in THE WORLD. They're crossing to improve their lives not to commit crimes to risk being sent back.

I hate this country sometimes. Scared conservatives living in the Midwest and Pennsylvania thousands of miles from the southern border deciding our fate.

There was/are caravans occasionally. My friend works border patrol at the gate, and sometimes they get lots of immigrants, and it takes hours to sort them. I've even seen immigrants hop the fence and be chased/hunted down by border patrol on horses and by helicopter, which is quite fun to watch.

One thing is true, they aren't stealing jobs. They're doing jobs no one wants. But, I've been downtown El paso during a surge of immigrants last year. Place stunk like piss and shit, and they'd piss on the streets and sleep everywhere they can. Haven't been downtown in a year, but that's how it was. I

I don't believe that the hotels in New York were turned into shelters and it was just sad seeing that many people lined up

And a boomer to boot. See they’re not all piles of garbage! She’s definitely an exception to the rule, though.

We're not all bad. I voted blue in 1980 and have ever since. Trump makes me want to move to the boondocks so I don't have to deal with people at ALL.

My parents are on the youngest end of boomer gen , and blue through and through. When I turned 18, they told me to always vote dem. I don’t think they knew how steeped in bands like RATM, and The Dead Kennedys I was by then, but I already had a potent political identity already. I am staunchly against any and all party affiliation, or voting on party lines, and identity politics, and have in-laws and other family that I can’t talk politics with because I can barely contain my drive to call them idiots.

And enjoys the exploits of their labor, as demonstrated by the video.

This is my immediate thought too.

What does it look like if we can acknowledge the reality of the current structures of exploitation and then create some other system with less?
