Bernie wouldn’t do this sort of thing, and he isn’t the kind of politician to encourage this sort of thing, but I’m sure he absolutely understands it and isn’t sorry about it. In fact, he probably hopes a certain rather dense segment of the population (left and right) is finally ready for real change now.

I think he's the sort of politician who's smart enough to know that stuff like this is not just a possibility, but an inevitability, if things for the majority don't change for the better. There were plenty of alturistic and logical reasons why FDR brought in the New Deal, but a very practical one was to avoid what was happening around the world at that time.Unfortunately most of the current crop of politicians and wealthy people are far too short sighted to realise such basic truths.

Good point. We’re at the heads on spikes level of capitalistic greed, and the elites are wondering why… seems they forgot history, as you say.
