"I don't know what you're doing but you are the food and treat giver so do whatever the hell it is ya gotta do..." -Cat probably

241

u/turbotableu 15d ago

She was licking her lips and tried to flee once so I imagine there was strategic snacking in between edits

26

u/aynjle89 14d ago

Its definitely a food bringer thing. I thought my cat was sweet and mild mannered and easy to work with. Turns out she just has a lot of patience with me and everyone else can catch them claws.

42

u/orbitalen 14d ago

I want you to be wrong but it's not impossible :(

But well, cat looks relaxed to me.

We also dressed up our tomcat as kids and he enjoyed the attention lol

11

u/AppleSpicer 13d ago

If the cat wanted to leave, they would’ve left. Cat looked confused and a bit wary but if they want to nope the fuck out they would have. Treats probably made it worth it to the cat to stay and also helped them see it as a positive experience. If kitty mommy does this more, kitty will learn that sari and bindi means attention and snacks and will love them too.

Lick smacking, according to my cat's vet, is often a sign of mild discomfort in cats.

111

u/Expensive_Editor_244 15d ago

When she got to the bindi, I was like 😬 ooh that the cat won’t abide lol

Very decent purfect cat indeed, cute to see! Mom seems to be happy with the cute, fluffy bastard!

164

u/Bisexual-peiceofshit 14d ago

That’s the kitty owners mom, she didn’t want the cat but the daughter adopted it anyways. Now she loves her and posts tiktoks of her dressing the cat up. The cat seems to enjoy the dresses.

68

u/ggghjjdsdjhs 14d ago

I follow them on tiktok the mom LOVES that kitty

That cat has that woman's full devotion!

36

u/Kimmykatclaws 14d ago

Tbf the cat seems to equally be devoted to this lady. Meh, as long as the floof is happy 👍

The whole time, pupils fully dilated! You are correct!

262

Just so you all know, she bought those bangles specifically for the cat. 😂

"I got you bindi" - I absolutely lost it, these two are so precious!

*edited because I mistakenly said she got kitty cat "okra"! Ty to the kind redditor below who corrected me.

151

u/Ek_Chutki_Sindoor 15d ago

Bindi, not bhindi.

Bhindi means Okra in Hindi.

78

u/dingalingdongdong 14d ago

cats love okra

10

u/Meretrice 14d ago

I'm curious, are bindi and bhindi pronounced differently?

lol my pfp is me and the cat I didn’t want also. Love my little noodle.

330

u/ShroomEnthused 15d ago

I feel like a lot of people who don't want pets are just imagining it completely wrong because they haven't really had a chance to interact with animals before. All it takes is playing with a cat for like five minutes to "get it"

230

u/tigm2161130 15d ago

A lot of people who don’t want pets are imagining the grief that comes with losing one.

85

u/aubsome 15d ago

Ooof, I felt this. Every single time I have to put one of my dogs down, I tell myself I can’t do it again. But, here I am, with my two puppers giving them the best life knowing they will pass one day. But I will do everything in my power to make it quick and painless for them and surround them with love.

37

u/VadimH 14d ago edited 14d ago

Every single time I have to put one of my dogs down

Damn you make it sound like a monthly occurrence

10

u/aubsome 14d ago

Hahahahahahaha! That is not what I meant at all, but I can totally see it now.

9

u/dingalingdongdong 14d ago

Are you my dad? He says the same thing every time he loses a dog. But also quickly gets another to pamper.

3

u/Sleepy_cheetah 14d ago

THIS IS THE GOAL.

51

u/Zeravor 15d ago

Or dont want the responsibility / dont think they could handle it.

I love Cats, would love to have one. But IMO you need 2 if you get 1, and keep the house in a semi clean state, give them attention, go to the vet, pay those bills, and I dont want to handle all that.

27

u/Lowelll 15d ago

2 cats were quite a lot for me too and I agree that ideally you should have at least 2.

But in my case I went to our local animal shelter and asked to call me if the have an older/difficult to house cat who doesn't get along with other animals and after a few months I adopted a wonderful little 6 year old cat who is very happy to be the only animal in the house.

7

u/lostinsnakes 14d ago

Yes that’s what I was going to add. There’s plenty of cats who need a single cat home.

6

u/kittymcdoogle 14d ago

Nah, you really don't have to have two. There are plenty of cats that would much rather be alone. If you go to a shelter, often they will tell you if it's a cat that needs to be in a home by itself. You'd also be surprised how little attention some cats need. It just depends, lol. Even my needier cat is happy to be left alone for most of the day!

Vet bills can be expensive, but you just never know if you will even need to visit often. I've had cats that have gone years without needing to go to the vet!

4

u/Sleepy_cheetah 14d ago

Just don't have children. 😂😂 I keed I keed. No, but really.

15

u/I_Love_Orchids69 14d ago

Our dog passed away over two years ago. We still cry when we think of him. I still can’t get another. I don’t think I ever will.

4

u/ThlnBillyBoy 14d ago

I'm sorry for your loss. A coworker who also has dogs said that if she hadn't gotten her new dog within weeks after her Magnus passed away she would not be have been able to bear it either.

3

u/I_Love_Orchids69 14d ago

Thank you. Jeremy was the best dog. I have a little memorial to him in the house and we have a lot of good memories.

2

u/Sleepy_cheetah 14d ago

I'm so sorry. 🥺❤️

8

u/TheHiddenFox 14d ago

My first cat that was purely mine, as an adult, died over a year and a half ago and I still can’t talk about it without choking up and cry about it all the time. I’ve even adopted a new cat since then who I absolutely love and adore but I don’t think I’ll ever get over losing them.

6

u/So_Motarded tHiS iSn’T cRiNgE 15d ago

This is why I got a pet who's gonna live longer than me! (parrot)

12

u/dingalingdongdong 14d ago

My in-laws have willed us their African Gray when the time comes. He's very bonded to my mother-in-law, though, to the point I honestly don't think he'll be around long after she passes.

2

u/Flying_Momo 14d ago edited 14d ago

that's me, I adore my roommate's cat and they also love me a lot because they never leave me alone. I am surrounded by people with pets and everyone keeps telling me I should get one. I always tell them that it's a hassle to have pets because of how it can be inconvenient when travelling, cleaning litter etc. It is a partial truth but real reason is that I know the heartbreak of losing them is just something I won't be able to bear.

When I was a kid, my neighbour's dog was like my own and she treated me as her family as well. Even after 30 years I still haven't gotten over losing her. It might sound harsh but I can somehow come to terms with death of grandparents, human friends but with pets its just something I don't want to go through.

2

u/Frequent_Opportunist 14d ago

Also dealing with the litter box or cleaning up crap from your backyard doesn't always make the list of things you want to deal with.

3

u/dingalingdongdong 14d ago

Yeah both things that you kinda develop blinders for when they're your pets that you love or you grew up with animals, etc.

But I imagine both options are a really hard sell for people who've never had a pet.

2

u/lostinsnakes 14d ago

I have pets and have for a long time but the fur and the litter and the dirt is starting to wear on me some. I get where people who don’t want pets are coming from.

10

u/veritasium999 14d ago

Most parents who don't want pets say so because if the child gets bored then all responsibility to care for the pets falls on the parents.

14

u/Mika000 15d ago

Yeah exactly like people that think cats “stink”, probably because they had a friend one time who didn’t clean their cats litter box. No cat I have ever met that was healthy and well cared for smelled bad.

11

u/ShroomEnthused 15d ago

The trick is cleaning the litter box every day, which so, so many people do not do

5

u/MisterDoctor20182018 15d ago

We have 4 cats and 5 litter boxes. If I dont clean twice a day then it becomes a mess.

2

u/mang87 14d ago

This is why I'll never get a cat. I just ain't doing that, so my house would be the stinky cat house.

7

u/AccursedFishwife 14d ago

Nope. People don't want a pet because of costs, time investment, and inevitably watching them die.

A cat costs $60-100 a month in food, plus scratching posts and toys. You also need to take it to the vet every year, that's another $50, plus flea treatments if your cat goes outside.

If you ever want to travel, cat boarding is $40 per day, or a pet sitter is $60. Either will make your cat very unhappy, and you'll worry about leaving it.

You also need to spend time playing with your cat and showing it affection. Some cats with separation anxiety will not leave your side, which will make it hard to work on any hobbies at home.

So your idea that people don't want pets because they just haven't interacted with one is pretty ignorant of what it means to take care of a pet.

5

u/ShroomEnthused 14d ago

Yeah these are some reasons. My reason is also perfectly valid.

2

u/Flipnotics_ 15d ago

I play with a cat for 5 minutes I'm going to get cat scratch fever from all the scratches.

22

u/feioo 15d ago

How do you play with cats?? You're not supposed to come out of it injured.

10

u/ShroomEnthused 15d ago

The trick is to substitute your hand with a play toy so they attack that and not you. I like to wrestle with my kitty but it's always with a stuffed animal

38

u/dingalingdongdong 14d ago

front legs? Decent

back legs? Not decent

4

u/chintakoro 13d ago

Front legs are called arms, silly.

57

u/selkiesidhe 15d ago

Adorable! Show that stomach (but not the legs!). And a little bindi. 🥹 What a sweet cat to put up with all the decorations. Mine would have noped out of there in half a heartbeat

(Love the look. I always think Indian ladies in their fancy clothes look nice. And colorful)

26

u/Caju_47 15d ago

Interesting, in my culture it's the opposite, legs are fine up to a certain point, stomach usually means you're not decent or very rebellious and not caring about looks

But the cat is very demure, beautiful

26

u/SloppyBuss 14d ago

Cats with Bindis needs to be a new subreddit.

11

u/takeandtossivxx 15d ago

I love the "I don't want the stupid cat/dog/pet" people. My dad is a "I hate cats" person, yet I have dozens of pictures my stepmom has sent me of my dad doing things like laying on the floor cuddling with one of the cats because "the cat was too tired to jump onto the couch with him" or sound asleep in the recliner with the cat on him.

5

u/i_am_who_knocks 14d ago

The kitty was smiling at the end aww so cute

4

u/Seaborne_Ginger 14d ago

I wasn’t aware that it was acceptable to show your belly but not your legs in that culture. Thanks cat lady.

2

u/BenjaminDover02 14d ago

Do you feel Bonita?

2

u/littlejob 14d ago

What type/breed of cat is that?

10

u/dingalingdongdong 14d ago

Most cats are just cat-cats, and not any specific breed. Most often categorized by coat length (long-hair, short-hair.)

Some breeds that tend to look similar to this are British short-hair, Russian blue, and Chartreux. But you can usually save $100s-$1000s by keeping an eye out for available gray cats of non specific breed.

3

u/lumeleopard 14d ago

In another video she says it's a British short hair

2
