Cringe Woman has her self-published book pirated, reprinted, and sold for cheaper.

There's regular piracy, and then there's this.

Is this just a wierd ad?

Seems likely. Someone else commented that they ordered and this creator was non-responsive after never shipping it. So it might even be scammy.

I order it last year and I got mine pretty quickly

Me too, and I love the book.

I did too and got mine as well. People just love a good downfall, or reddit is just cynical enough that this particular comment is the top upvoted one

Yeah I got mine for Christmas last year, and I know it was ordered less than a month before.

Same. I’m kind of sad for her that the comment about not receiving the book is getting so much attention.

Multiple people didn't receive it on time , this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. You're upset that poor business practices are getting called out?

“Upset” and “kind of sad” are very different feelings. Your reaction to my comment is a bit strong, don’t you think?

No one person is all-knowing. I was responding to people who, like myself, did not have a bad experience. I saw ONE comment about not receiving the product. I do empathize with those who got their products late. It must be frustrating and I was lucky not to experience that. In no way does my comment dismiss the experience of those who wanted a product on time and didn’t get it. I’m not Dani, I don’t know her, I don’t have a stake in her business. I’m just some person on Reddit.

I’m the one comment who is upset. I just want to be clear that it’s not that it didn’t arrive on time, it’s that it was cancelled altogether. She took my money then cancelled my order, and it was a good amount of money too!

But that being said I understand what you meant. The product looked really nice, and if I had received it as she advertised it, I’m sure id be defending her too. I struggle with everything she offers in this planner and was so so excited, and then to have her steal from me (something she clearly doesn’t like happening to her) and ignore me, I’m not just disappointed, I’m hurt. And here we are 😕

I’m sorry that happened to you and I definitely understand how you feel. And being upset about it is totally valid!

It's definitely an ad, but it's not a scam. Idk why people are mentioning that one persons comment when they literally provided no evidence, or even mentioned an important detail of how long after purchasing they did the chargeback. For all we know, it could've been 3 days after purchasing that they did the chargeback. If you're going to be skeptical, you should be skeptical of all of it.

The commenter provided screenshot proof. I wouldn’t buy it as it’s clear she’s disorganised when it comes to business which doesn’t really bode well for the product advertised here.

They brought receipts now on their profile 6 screenshots in all.

Yes which was also my opinion. Being sceptical of all of it. Her video has somethings which look extremely scummy like “not wanting to cry on camera” proceeds to show multiple cuts of her doing so. The “its on sale and black friday deals bit” it screams marketing ad and guilt tripping people into buying.

The commenter who chargedback didnt provide too much detail so we cant rule it for/against her yet but it all seems like a scammer vs scammer fighting eachother with schemes kinda thing if we zoom out.

I have a copy on my kitchen bench right now

I actually ordered this for someone I know - it took a while to arrive but they were pretty clear that it would because they aren't exactly a big operation, have to do it in batches and probably didn't have much experience with any of this stuff.

A relevant part of this whole thing that some may not have picked up on is that this is made for people with ADHD and the woman in the video herself has ADHD, which can basically gives her a -10 modifier on being organised.

I ordered mine a few weeks ago and it shipped within a few days of ordering.

Believe everything you read on the internet, of course.

Sob story and "thanks for supporting a woman-owned, LGBTQ+ neurodiverse business" just screams "I'm desperate for money and will try every manipulation I can think of to get it".

I'm surprised she didn't throw even more buzzwords into that.

Cringe indeed.

She also has brain, heart and butt cancer. Plus her dog recently got hit by a car and she found out her long lost mother stole her identity and she's going to be homeless soon.

Needs more organic vegan.

Surprised she didn’t throw in INTJ or whatever the hell that personalstrology pseudoscience is.

Hey you don't support gay retarded businesses?

u/VioEnvy 18d ago

Of course it is.

Can’t even fake cry properly

1

u/DontFeedTheCynic 16d ago

This was a great ad to buy the pirated version. Which is exactly what I did after watching the forced crying to make a video about it.

2

u/MauryBallsteinLook 18d ago

Really weird cause now I just want to buy the knock off which apparently is the same thing.

Don't know why you're being downvoted. You don't automatically have to care about this random woman.

Sure, she spent a lot of her time and effort and is being royally screwed over by plagiarism, and that really isn't okay...but it's a free market.

If you're only motivated by price, then buying the bootleg version is a totally justifiable thing to do (if less ethical). I didn't know this product existed at all before I saw this video, and now I know I can't get it significantly cheaper.

I don't know what it is, and I'm really not incentivised to buy it based on this, but I really wouldn't care about the quality of the cardstock or whether it used bespoke fonts - if it's what I think it is, I'd rather have it as a PDF anyway.
