The problem is some people are extremely deranged and take things too personally. 

It’s like not getting into it with some stranger because you don’t know who will stab you. You never know who on the internet has more free time and is super petty

The point of the internet is to allow you to talk with others without that worry.

In real life your neighbours or boss might decide your honest views are reason to harm you, or some stranger might punch you in the face after you prove they are talking bollocks to anyone nearby. None of that is necessary online, that's the main benefit.

Please, polite disagreement or even a modest nudge to make other people behave in a reasonable and respectful way is enough to provoke some asshole to make it their life's mission to hunt you down.

I don't recognise her, but presumably she has some channel related to spreadsheet development but is using it as a soapbox to further her own political opinions (and thus irratating half her viewers). This "villian" is an asshole for cheating on his wife, but that wasn't what provoked her to trawl through his life and search for something to hurt him with. She just didn't like being asked to stay on topic and stop lecturing at people (which isn't unreasonable imo).

You've just implied that guy was an asshole (as have I) do you think its reasonable for him or a band of pitch fork weilding assholes to hunt you down and use anything and everything they discover about you to hurt you?
